Lack of empathy for a sick child
March 12, 2018
I called up to get Calpol for my 4 year old daughter. I spoke to receptionist who said I had to pay for this and if they NHS carried on like this giving free prescriptions there would be no NHS, I found this very rude and insulting as I work and pay my taxes, further more my daughter was ill.
I felt as a patient that I should have no received that type of attitude, it was almost as though the receptionist was blaming me for the current state of the NHS when I only called for Calpol.
She was not helpful and her customer service skills were poor.
I was very shocked at her lack of empathy for a sick child.
There was a time and a place for that discussion, but that shouldn't be for patients or with them at the time when they are looking for help from their doctors surgery.

Paramedics took me to Good Hope. Then further treatment twice a week for 7 weeks by the team of nurses at Tower Hill. They all were all excellent and professional with good spirits. Reception were a disappointment, as a nurse told me to book Tues & Thurs for the next week. Girl on reception said there are no appointments, go back to Good Hope. I told nurse and eventually got the two appointments I needed. I am aged 70 and no longer drive. Well done nurses! Reception needs retraining.

A purpose built Medical Centre first time used satisfied but dissapointed by the visual screen stating your doctor will see you now only on for a few seconds and NO repeats also its not a audio annocement for those with a sight impediment. i hope to inspect it more closly when l have time and hopefully as a E V rep
Horrendous

Told wrong appointment time, not given what I asked for, and receptionists making up their own rules. Awful.
