Birmingham Women's Hospital

I had half an hour wait today which is fine. They gave me good information prior to the appointment so I knew what to expect. The staff are really helpful. There needs to be better information on the letters to provide directions to different departments. They need to provide which floor the department is on and which department you should go to first as it can be confusing in that respect.

The people at maternity are friendly and very understanding. They're very kind and supportive. Very patient. They recommended things that helped me a lot during pregnancy. I had a very positive experience. The staff at the Women's are all very supportive.

The waiting time is just a bit long. The staff there are very attentive and the ones I have dealt with act in a professional manner.

I hate and dread coming to the preterm birth department. There's nobody here but you wait for ages. I have been here a while and they don't explain why you're there and what the appointment is for. So it is like they're informed but I'm uninformed. I sometimes have to leave because they take so long and I have to get the kids from school. I feel like I have to speak up and they they will rush you through. I don't know if they're understaffed.

It was actually quite good today but normally it's quite long. They aren't very communicative about what's going on when having a scan unless I ask questions. The pictures are blurry and she wasn't going to give me a picture unless I asked for one. You wait a long time for this and it's like they rush you through and they should be providing the best service to each person.

No long waits for the consultant today but it can sometimes take an hour. Everything is explained and the consultant gives us time, we never feel rushed.

I had a scan 8 weeks ago. The staff were very good and explained everything very well. I was able to ask questions and the staff were so friendly and nice.

Waiting at triage is a bit crazy. Last week I waited for 3 hours for the doctor to see me. Usually they're very good. They put me on a movement machine for 5 minutes then sent us to the waiting room for 3 hours for the doctor to dismiss you and you don't know what is going on whilst you're waiting there or what you're waiting for.

My scan was on the first floor and it was fine, really great. All of the staff are really good, all lovely. They all listen and they're really helpful, so good.

It was nice and easy the appointment. I'm always seen on time with no long waits, waited about 10 minutes, that's it. Pretty straight forward here. They helped me get my migraine tablets sorted with my GP too.
