Things went wrong - no support

Maternity
December 23, 2021
We're waiting for an appointment to discuss what went wrong throughout my daughters pregnancy.
She wasn't diagnosed with pre eclampsia until she had an emergency C section. She also had sepsis. They said she was dialated by 9cm but she wasn't.
We have tried to complain, and not knowing how to do this, we spoke to the local GP, who requested a consultation with the midwife.
I feel they didn't treat my daughter well due to being autistic and deaf. She hasn't been given the support, so I have had to jump in to help. Staff accused my daughter of being neglectful due to not breastfeeding but she wasn't able to hear due to being deaf.

Arrived at appointment on time and was seen straight away. Other visits, more in the afternoon, I've had to wait for over an hour.

Made to wait separately from my wife

Came to the hospital to have a scan with my wife. Wasn't allowed to wait in the main waiting room. Had to wait in the canteen and wait for a phone call when I was allowed to go into the scan.
Couldn't see the point as wife and I are in the same bubble.

Waiting times better in the morning

First thing in the morning scans don't have any waiting times. The last time we were here we waiting over an hour and the appointment was in the afternoon.
The cost of the car park can be expensive So we reckon we have spent £20 on car parking and that is just for 2 appointments. We are having baby so we can't afford that extra cost. Staff have been amazing.

Bit worried

Felt a bit worried being in the room so small for a scan, because of covid. Everyone wore masks but didn't know how clean the room is and how often.

Staff are polite to patients

Staff ask patients questions and listen to the responses
Good level of care
Triage could do with more staff as queues are long and outpatients wait very long times to see staff.
Often very busy with limited doctors and midwifes.
