OHP-Yardley Wood Health Centre

Usually can get an appointment or talk to someone when I want one. Referred from GP to hospital and waited around 6 weeks. When chased us with another doctor they sent onto hospital as an emergency to QE. That’s been good. They didn’t say who I will be referred to.

Receptionist should have flagged that I am deaf and using the phone is difficult. They have to flag that I need face to face appointments. Doctors are good, but no matter how many times I tell the receptionist they always offer over the phone which is no good for me because I am profoundly deaf.

It's hard to get an appointment. If you have a job it's hard to call at 8am in the morning. But they did see my daughter quickly, they seem to be better with kids. I've never had any issues getting appointments for the kids.

After lock down there are lots of trouble. It’s always on the phone. I want to see the doctor face to face, but can’t get it. You can wait a whole day. Called at 9am and called back at 5:45pm. It was a long wait. Staff are nice but there are problems.

I was given a phone consultation, the GP arranged an appointment for me to go to the surgery a short while after the call.

It is impossible to get a face-to-face appointment with a doctor (last I had was just before Covid). You need a computer -dead on 8am -to even request an appt, which is always a telephone consultation. These are really useless for certain problems. I really miss seeing my own GP. Why can't things go back to the way they were - dentists, opticians, hospitals are seeing people in person, why can't they?

Reception team is excellent. Doctors are very cooperative and helpful. Overall very good.

Rubbish, never used to give advance appointments but I've not tried since the government changed the procedure. I have to call at 8am and can be waiting in a queue. It's not good.

You have to call dead on 8am or you've missed it. I get my children to book appointments for me online. If I don't get an appointment I just phone up the next day or get one by walking into the surgery.

Can get appointment. Have to plead my case, number 2 in the queue but get appointment. Receptionist said go to pharmacy. Scratch on eye but they don’t listen and would rather ask you to go to the pharmacy than let you see a doctor.
