Good staff, better communication
July 21, 2023
Generally absolutely fine and I'm well looked after. Tommy's miscarriage clinic are amazing and the consultant is great. Most departments are fabulous but some need improvement. I came a couple of weeks ago for routine blood tests then received a letter saying I needed to come for more, with no explanation as to what for. I called my consultant and he didn't know what they were for and then tried the switchboard for other maternity departments. Ended up being a mix up at the labs and one of my blood vials hadn't been labeled correctly. I would just like a little bit of compassion with my history, that would have been good. I can't fault the people here, it's just the system and how it operates.
Everything always good here.

Really good, triage has been really good too. My appointments and everything are always really good here.
Good staff and good communication

I've come for blood tests today and it's all been straight forward. Staff are good and explain things to me.
Not been updated, better communication needed
July 18, 2023
It's fine, I've not been updated with everything and had complications. There's not been good communication between the 2 hospitals. She is registered here but had to go for an emergency appointments at Russells Hall Hospital but they don't communicate well with each other.
Good experience but long waits

Good experience, they explain things well but you can wait a long time in the clinic.
Good staff, horrendous parking
July 13, 2023
It's been all good but the car parking has been horrendous. I've not been waiting long today and it's all gone really well, staff have also been good.
Explain my care very well
July 12, 2023
It's been good. There are long waits in the clinic but they send me a letter that explains that I'll be waiting 4-5 hours. They explain my care very well and the staff are really good. I feel better, more than last time.
No problems with them at all
July 12, 2023
Everything is okay, no long waits as I've just got here. On previous visits, they've explained everything well and send appointments via text and in the post. I've not had any problems with them at all.
Everything has been satisfactory
July 12, 2023
Been a good experience, they've just told me the gender of my baby. It's my first baby and they've treated me very well and have explained everything properly. Everything has been satisfactory, there's been no delays and they've been checking me properly.
Failing to meet demand poor quality of Care
Gynaecology

I was referred to the menopause clinic by my GP who is limited in providing some HRT treatments instead women are being funneled into specialist consultant led service at the Birmingham Women's Hospital.
This service is failing on all levels with women experiencing huge waits, I have been waiting for 15 months. Even when you do get an appointment post pandemic this is a telephone consultation and last week they DNA'd their own appointment with me. No notification from them about the missed appointment which relates to systemic issues regarding communication systems with women from this service and management of their waiting list.
I noticed that I could have spent £170 and seen the same consultant 15 months ago at a private provider which speaks volumes about the two tier system that is being created. BWH needs to review their current service and consult with women across the West Midlands to seek resolution of issues and ways to reduce waiting times, improve communication and work with Commissioners to get the service properly funded.
I feel completely let down by this service and their failure to provide any service to me has had a significant impact on my quality of life. The poor communication and failure to even let me know the appointment couldn't go ahead adds another layer of stress and poor service.
