This report explores the experiences of 276 Solihull residents accessing GP services through technology, based on Healthwatch Solihull’s 2022 report Accessing GP Services via Technology. It highlighted barriers related to booking systems, clarity of information, and digital access. In response, Solihealth and local PCNs improved websites, appointment options, and patient engagement, leading to more flexible, inclusive, and user-informed services.

People’s views on access to GP services in Birmingham
Examining the experiences of over 2,000 people in Birmingham, this report found evidence of numerous problems for patients trying to access local GP services. It also shows that more deprived areas have poorer access to primary care services, and that people from ethnic minority groups and those with long-term conditions encounter more barriers to care.
