"Brilliant occupational therapy service"
Solihull MBC's occupational therapy team have been very good. My experience has been great, they have been out to my home to assess and put things in place to help me live safely at home.

They attended to assess us and they were a bit stand-offish. One tried to be intimidating. One of them was quite good.
I was assessed by an occupational therapist and was told that I had a lot of medical issues and that I would have to go into a care home. This was not what I wanted and with the support of my family I have managed to return home. There was a lack of support, encouragement or hope from the OT. They just said it would be too much for me to return home. Too much for who?
They refused an EHCP. It's disgraceful when our child clearly needs extra support in school. Their education is impacted because it's not in place.
Terrible experience. Their notes never reflected the meetings. I did not feel supported by them but judged and fearful of them. Now I just feel scared to ask for any support or help from other services. It felt like tick box exercises and just covering their own backs. Putting us in a bad light and making them look good. I asked them very politely to leave after they upset my wife and they said I threw them out which was not true of what took place at all.
I have been happy with the social worker and they way they have been keeping me safe in my home.
Community care assessors are only interested in money. First question is are they self funding, not how can we help. Instead they're walking around the house commenting about how lovely the house is. They're only interested in money.
