"Good care but long wait for appointment"
The care from the ophthalmology team has been good but I waited months for my appointment to come through which was disappointing.
The care from the ophthalmology team has been good but I waited months for my appointment to come through which was disappointing.
I have been having chemotherapy at Solihull Hospital and the team of staff on the chemotherapy ward are absolutely superb. They are friendly and chatty we have a laugh during treatment which is really important. The care has been excellent and they really take great care of me.
I have attended Solihull antenatal department for scans and to see my consultant. My experiences have been good. My consultant is excellent and communicates very well. All options have been clearly explained to me. The midwives are great too they are really lovely.
My experience of antenatal care at Solihull Hospital has been good. Appointments go well and I am seen promptly. The midwives are lovely.
My experience of antenatal care at Solihull hospital has been excellent. The midwives here are lovely. They are so friendly and helpful. I see my consultant here and they are very good too. They communicate well and explain things clearly to me.
I attend Solihull Antenatal for consultant appointments. The consultant is very nice and communicates well. They always explain things thoroughly to me. The midwives here are lovely too.
My experience of the antenatal department at Solihull Hospital has been good. The staff are good and very co-operative. They communicate well and I always leave appointments with a good understanding of everything.
My experience of antenatal care at Solihull Hospital has been quite good. Communication from the midwives was good in particular.
My experience of the antenatal department at Solihull Hospital has been fine. I have received appointments quickly and had reminders through which has been good. The waiting times when I attend the clinic have been okay too.
I waited months and months for my referral appointment in Gynaecology to come through. I feel like because I am older I have just been left to suffer with my symptoms. The staff and the consultant are good its just been the waiting time that has been the problem. It's been so very disappointing.
They're a good hospital but just too far from my home. The care is excellent but they can run super late and when using public transport its very late for me to travel. They transferred my care.
I returned to the UK at 28 weeks pregnant. The transition of care I have received at Solihull antenatal has been very good and the process was smooth.
Terrible attitude they don't listen and talk over you. I had spine surgery and a nurse walked into me. If you say anything back they threaten to kick you out
Things were at a stand still for a long time because I waited so long for my ophthalmology appointment. The treatment and care has been good but the waiting times for appointments have let the service down.
I have been under the plastic surgery team at Solihull Hospital. They have been good I have had procedures that have not been successful and the surgeon is now discussing other options with me.
My experience of the dermatology team at Solihull Hospital has been good. At times I have had to chase the department by calling the secretary.
This is a good hospital they provide a good service and I am happy with the care I have received here.
It was the first time I have used the hospital and they were fine. The reception staff were helpful and I wasn't waiting long for my appointment. The appointment went well.
I attend Solihull Hospital every month for an infusion to treat my condition. This treatment really helps and is an alternative to medication. The treatment has greatly improved my quality of life. The staff are very good. I find the staff here at Solihull Hospital much better than those at other hospitals. They seem much more caring here.
The physiotherapy service provided at Solihull Hospital is very good. The physiotherapist comes down to collect me from the waiting area and walks to the department with me. She is really friendly very chatty and very encouraging. She even walks me out from my appointments too. The sessions have been really helpful.
I recently had a transesophageal scan (specialist heart scan). The staff were really great. They took their time and were very professional. I had a local anesthetic and medication to relax me during the procedure. I was closely monitored for a couple of hours after the procedure and was not allowed home until they were completely happy that I was fine. The care I received was excellent.
I have been under the cardiology team at Solihull Hospital and was supposed to have an echocardiogram every two years. After two and a half years I hadn't heard anything so I had to chase the hospital. By the time I got my appointment I had waited over three years since the last one. I have been left disappointed by this. The team of staff are great when you attend appointments the problem has been getting one.
I have had problems with communication and administrative errors at Solihull Hospital but the ophthalmology department has been the exception. They provide a good service and run a good department.
The ophthalmology department at Solihull Hospital are pretty good.
My dermatology referral appointment came through quickly. I was quickly assessed and they quickly removed the suspect growth. I have had good follow on care with speedy results.
I have visited the hospital for two appointments now. I have not been seen on time at either appointment and had quite a wait.
My experience of Solihull Hospital has been excellent.
I have used this hospital for a number of years and I have been under the care of the dermatology department for some time. I would not be alive if it was not for their treatment and support. The team are wonderful and I cannot praise them high enough. The department provide a super service I can call them if I have any concerns and within a few days I receive an appointment.
My radiology appointment went well. I was seen on time and the appointment was quick. The staff were nice polite and very helpful.
I had a knee replacement at Solihull Hospital. The surgeon was great and treatment was very good. The general care on the ward was good and the food was great.
I was referred to Solihull Hospital for an ultrasound appointment and I have been waiting a long time for the appointment to come through. I am not happy with how long I have been waiting.
I have appointments at the angina clinic at Solihull Hospital every 6 months. They are very good, they communicate well and I am happy with the service and care they provide.
My child was referred to the ophthalmology department and waited a long time for the initial appointment. Once seen the service was very good and I was happy with the care they received.
Waiting for laser treatment. I was told a two week wait and its been months. I have chased it and was told there is noting that can be done to speed it up. My sight is deteriorating because of it.
Good, no delays. Always very friendly. Clear with what they're going to do.
Good as the scans and waiting times are better here. The staff are friendly. Communication is good.
A very good experience. A nice hospital to visit and the parking is good. It's not far to walk to the department. The staff are friendly, nice midwives, helpful, thorough. I'm seen in good time and don't wait long for my appointments.
I was sent for physio and it didn't help. My shoulder was too bad so it turned out it would have never have worked anyway.
I have no complaints. They were brilliant looking after me when I had stage 2 bowel cancer. I went here for surgery. They were brilliant. When I was diagnosed, I was terrified but they took good care of me. The consultant was great and had a very good bedside manner.
I was referred to the pain management clinic at Solihull Hospital. My experience was good in terms of appointments and support from the staff. Unfortunately my symptoms have not improved greatly but the sessions have helped me cope with the pain better.
Knee replacement surgery was a huge success. Amazing and I recovered well.
I have waited for 3 years for an operation. There has been a number of hiccups along the way causing delays. I have seen a number of doctors at gynaecology. I'm really fed up as it's hard to live with.
I had my knee replacement surgery at Solihull Hospital. I had waited over 2 years for the operation which was difficult but I cannot fault the team of staff at Solihull Hospital. The physiotherapy team had me back on my feet and walking within 24 hours and I was discharged after 48. The staff, nurses, physiotherapists and doctors were all great. I had follow on appointments which went well too.
I was referred to UHB for an MRI and I received an appointment for Solihull Hospital. I didn't wait long for the appointment and it went very well. The hospital has good parking facilities and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I was referred by my GP for an X-Ray and I received an appointment really quickly to attend Solihull Hospital. The appointment went smoothly I was in and out very quickly. The staff were nice enough.
I went for an appointment and when I got there they said they couldn't see me there and had to return to Good Hope but my consultant wanted me to go to Solihull. I was stuck in a loop. It costs a lot to travel and Solihull is nearer to me. It was very distressing for me. Thankfully I now have an appointment with Solihull but the fact that the staff didn't listen to me or the consultant isn't good enough. It's very worrying.
Good. I get seen by the diabetic specialist and get good treatment. I've been passed over to the GP now for further support and it's not as good. I told Solihull they weren't as good but they let me go back to the GP.
I was referred to the neurology department for nerve tests. I had an incredibly long wait for my appointment. The appointment did go well and the doctor was thorough. It was explained that I needed surgery but that I would need further blood tests done first which they told me I needed to get done by my GP. Its disappointing that they could not do the blood tests at the hospital and that I will now have to go on another long waiting list for surgery while having to live in severe pain.
I had major surgery where they removed part of my bowel due to cancer. I was then advised I need chemotherapy for 12 months as my lymph nodes had been impacted.
Very good operation. Worried as they are channelling patients from other hospitals. It will cause over capacity. It's a great hospital but will go the same way as the QE, Good Hope and Heartlands.
I go here for for my eyes too. I'm between two hospitals. It's very good.
Fertility nurse there is really good. They're pushing the referral. They have done all the checks and everything it's just waiting on the Women's to get me in now.
My experience of the antenatal department at Solihull Hospital has been very good. I have attended a number of appointments and have always been seen fairly on time. The department is accessible and not too far from the carpark which is great when you are heavily pregnant. The midwives and staff are very friendly and chatty. The doctors communicate well and when I have seen consultants they have been fine. Everything they have said will be done, has been done.
My experience at Solihull Hospital's Antenatal clinic has been good.
Everything has become online, like the world. Everything is AI now and computers. You don't get to speak to people.
I am here for a broken nose that I have had since a child. I have breathing problems because of it. Everything seems okay here.
A wonderful physiotherapy service. They helped me to walk again after a stroke.
Everything is good. The doctors and nurses are good. I have no complaints. I'm happy with the care.
I have been here a few times. No issues. The doctors and nurses are great and take good care of their patients.
They look after my mum well. The parking is difficult, we end up parking in a different place.
It's my first time here and the wait hasn't been long at all.
Seen very quickly at the cardiology department. Everything flows very well. The meet and greet person is very useful too.
From the point of the referral, I waited 3 years for an appointment with neurology. I had to go back to the GP.
Limited parking, friendly staff. Appointments run on time.
Come here every 6 months. Communication is good and they're very helpful. The toilets were bad when I came here before and they told me to use the ladies.
No problem, communication is good, friendly and helpful.
Very pleased with them at the moment. Appointments are in a timely manner and the general care is excellent.
Very grateful for cardiology.
Quite happy with Ophthalmology. Very good. Excellent.
I went to the clinic for my eye. They arranged a cataract procedure. I am satisfied with the service.
I am happy with the care and service at respiratory.
Very nice on the ward, very long process, but it's been good. Oh the nurses are lovely. I couldn't fault that but I just wonder why it's such a long wait and process and I didn't know I was being taken to theatre.
Absolutely wonderful, a wonderful team and hospital. I had a follow up today, no long waits.
Staff are good and the wait is okay there.
I had an injection at ophthalmology for injections in my eyes. The service today was quick and the procedure was done quickly.
Went for an ECG and was disgusted that the lady doing the ECG earns the same as the cleaner. That isn't on is it. She is worth her weight in gold. She should be on more wages. The service was excellent.
Can't fault them at gynaecology. No complaints and good treatment. The receptionist was also very very good to me and helped me.
It's much better than it used to be. Things used to take a long time. That's not the case now. Staff are good and they give you all the time you need and never feel rushed.
I had bowel surgery on Tuesday and I am getting discharged today. It was a robotic surgery which was cool. The nurses were exceptional and I was well looked after.
I'm here for a cardiac assessment following rehab after a heart attack. It's been good. They look after you as an inpatient.
I waited for 8 months from the appointment to the procedure. It was good.
The doctors are nice there. The parking is so bad though and you can wait an hour going round and around. Otherwise it's different from children's now I'm transitioning to adult care.
I was admitted twice after a car accident and they said they would need to do MRI's etc. They transferred me to another hospital.
I came here for a scan which went well. Parking was difficult however.
I came here for a cancer operation. I was not provided any help with my travel costs but the staff at the hospital were brilliant.
I visit ophthalmology every 4-6 weeks for injections in my eyes. The staff and volunteers are all lovely. I can't walk and they wheel me to where I need to be. The care itself is also excellent.
I called the appointment line regarding a blood test to be told they don't deal with that and was given a list of numbers.
My X-ray appointment came through within a week. I found it easy to park and was seen on time when I attended.
Having been referred to Solihull orthopaedic department in June this year I had x-rays and an MRI scans, a follow up appointment in August and an operation in September. The care, treatment and support has been exemplary throughout. Every step was thoroughly explained and discussed with me. I could not have had better care. All the staff were professional and caring and the consultant was phenomenal.
I go to oncology every 6 months, they're good. They do tests and follow up. Very good.
I was called within 2 days of my GP appointment to be given an X-ray appointment the following week.
I got lucky and was given an appointment at an appropriate time.
I attended a recent scan appointment at Solihull Hospital. The appointment went well, I was seen quickly and the staff were great. The problem was the parking it was very difficult and I had to keep leaving and re-entering the carpark which was very stressful.
I had a cancer procedure carried out at Solihull Hospital. The staff were brilliant. The procedure went well and I was satisfied with the service I received.
I was referred to Solihull Hospital for a liver scan. The appointment came through quickly and went well. I also received my results very quickly too which was very pleasing.
I have been under the gastro team at UHB and have attended appointments at Solihull and Heartlands Hospitals. I experienced long waits between appointments, which was often 6 months. I also had a long wait for results and it took several months to be told that I needed a liver scan. Communication was generally poor and needs to be improved.
I was referred to the cardiology department at Solihull Hospital. I was pleased with the service I received, appointments went well and I had an ECG. The problem is that I have not received any results, no follow up appointment and nothing in writing. Communication has been poor and the only thing that I have received is a discharge letter without any explanation.
I attended a recent rheumatology appointment at Solihull Hospital. I was unable to park in a disabled bay, or the car park and had to park on a residential street and use my blue badge. I do have mobility issues and it was a long walk back to the car after having a steroid injection in my knee. The appointment itself went fine.
I was very late being seen today by the gastro team. Appointment went fine otherwise.
I was referred to Solihull Hospital for an X-ray. The appointment came through quickly and was very straight forward. I was satisfied with the service I received.
My experience of the antenatal department at Solihull Hospital has been good. The midwives and my consultant are lovely. There is room for improvement in the department, appointments during the warm summer heat were unpleasant because there is no air conditioning and the room is small and not well ventilated. I have also attended on days that there are no seats for the pregnant patients, and partners of patients are sitting and letting pregnant patients stand. The care here is great but the department and equipment feels a little tired and worn. At one appointment I felt like I was taken into a stock room, there was hardly any room and was full of boxes all stacked up.
As an expectant father it's hard to know what to expect at antenatal appointments. I have had a really good experience attending appointments at Solihull Hospital Antenatal department. I have felt included in appointments and have been able to ask questions.
My experience of antenatal care at Solihull hospital has been very good. The staff are really nice and they have been very reassuring.
I attended Solihull Hospital for chemotherapy treatment. I was happy with the care I received. The service was really good.
The problem with Solihull Hospital is that there is no A&E department, meaning that in an emergency residents of Solihull (like myself) have to travel very far to seek medical attention, which is potentially putting lives at risk.
I have attended Solihull Hospital on a number of occasions recently to visit family and friends who have been admitted, so my comments are only as an observation as a visitor. From what I have witnessed the nurses on the wards are caring and friendly and the people I have been visiting have been well cared for, making full recoveries and returning home following illness and operations.
I was admitted to Solihull Hospital for an operation. I feel that the nurses did the very best they could in providing care but it was obvious that they were rushed off their feet, and had too many patients to look after.
I see a specialist at the hospital for a long term condition. The service has been good and I have had a positive experience overall.
I have been treated for skin cancer twice at Solihull Hospital and undergone two separate surgeries. The dermatologist was brilliant and I was seen and treated very quickly.
My X-ray appointment went very well and I have no complaints about the service provided. It was easy to get there and easy to park. The staff were friendly and I was seen quickly.
I am a bowel cancer patient. From the very start I have been very pleased with the service provided. I was seen within 4 days of being referred. I have attended a number of appointments, the service is being run efficiently and everything has happened very quickly.
I have been receiving ongoing treatment for the past 3-4 years at Solihull Hospital for Crohn's disease. I have been satisfied with the treatment and management of my condition. I do have to travel quite far to the hospital for treatment but the good service provided makes up for this.
I see my consultant at Solihull Hospital for management of my immune disease. My consultant is very good and so are the rest of the team of staff. I am happy with the care and treatment I receive. I feel well informed and supported.
I have received very good follow on care for cellulitis at Solihull Hospital.
They've been doing x-rays for my tooth and not sure what it is so they're sending me for an MRI scan and waiting for results from the x-ray.
I go for my knees and hips and they are wonderful and they give you time. The doctors and nurses are excellent.
I am visually impaired and I find that visits to Solihull Hospital go very well because they do not change things around which means that I have been able to learn the layout of the main entrance area and ophthalmology department. I find the staff friendly and helpful and they have been very supportive recently as my symptoms worsen and my condition deteriorates. The hospital could make improvements for visually impaired patients by making the restaurant more inclusive and accessible for us. The menus are not available in larger print and there is nothing to assist visually impaired people. I have in the past asked staff for help to see what is available, but it can be very busy and I do not like to ask at those times. I find it quite strange that more consideration has not been made as the restaurant is right by the ophthalmology department.
My mum had her latest surgery here. The care was great. She was given her own chair and a step to help her get into her house as she struggles to walk now.
They were good at rheumatology. When I call to change appointments they sort it for you. They get back to you really quickly, they're brilliant. They also referred me on.
Went to see them for my hip and they have been very good. Very helpful and listen to what you have to say.
12 week attendance for fractured shoulder and wrist
I called the rheumatology department last week to ask for a medicine review due to changes in my symptoms. They booked me in for this week and the appointment went well. I waited for half an hour to be seen but the appointment itself was very good. The staff were very helpful and informative.
I have had a very good experience at Solihull Hospital over the past 18 months. I have attended a number of appointments for X-rays, ultrasounds and general outpatient appointments. The problem was getting referred, everything has happened very quickly since my referral. My appointments came through quickly and I received the results in good time too.
I have regular iron infusions at Solihull hospital. The service is very well organised and the staff are lovely. I go every two weeks and they are good.
I come here for anti coagulation treatment regularly following a heart attack. Today I was seen early which was nice.
My wife's care used to be handled at the Queen Elizabeth but it's been moved here. It's too far to come for frequent checkups.
I came in for a blood test which went well. I may need to go back for a follow up but I'm not sure yet.
I came here for my 12 week scan and it was a lovely experience. I was seen in good time and have no complaints overall.
My antenatal experience has been good. The staff are very friendly. The only issue is that it's a bit far for me to travel when I live right by Heartlands.
My pre-op assessment went very well. Everything was very quick and the staff were very nice throughout.
Appointments here take too long to come through. My last appointment took 18 months to come through and the follow up appointments are taking too long as well.
I visit the eye clinic regularly for my glaucoma and cataracts. The service is quite good.
The doctors and nurses here are good. The wait times are fair. Everything is good really I have no complaints.
The doctor I saw was very professional. I now have to wait 4 weeks for a follow up but that's okay.
I was seen an hour after my scheduled ophthalmology appointment time. The care is fine though and I'm happy with my treatment overall.
My experience of antenatal/maternity care at Solihull Hospital has been excellent. My pregnancy is classed as high risk and I have attended a number of appointments for scans and to see my consultant. I prefer visiting Solihull Hospital rather than others because the staff here have more time for you, the service feels more personal and the staff are very caring. I do not feel rushed in and out of appointments. My only criticism would be that the waiting area is very small and patients are on top of each other. When waiting two hours for a glucose test the area is not very comfortable and staff told me not to leave the department.
Mom's knee is bone to bone, Dr said they can't operate on it. She's had physio but not working. No injections offered or no other solution. Said to leave it but it affecting moms quality of life.
My experience of Solihull Hospital was very good. I had knee replacement surgery. The operation went well and the care was good. The physiotherapy I received was good and I attended follow on physiotherapy sessions which were beneficial.
I came here for an ultrasound. The technician was fine and everything went well.
I was given a card for the heart failure nurse but when I called with serious concerns nobody answered. I left 3 separate messages but nobody called us back.
They were good when I came in for hernia tests but I have been waiting 4 years for the operation to treat it to be organised.
The cardiac team have been brilliant. They referred me to Stoke hospital for further treatment as it was the fastest way to access treatment.
Received a call to say they will put me forward for further pain treatment, months ago and still waiting.
Had a nuclear brain scan and was diagnosed with Lewy body syndrome and they sent results to the GP. They were brilliant.
I had a total thyroidectomy in August 2024. They were fantastic.
The complex care team are very good, so so good and still come out to visit in our temporary accommodation. They're my little therapy group, they go above and beyond and it felt like more friends than a CCN.
I had an eye procedure here and the paperwork in the house said it could cause stroke or heart attack. I think that's what caused my stroke.
I waited four years for a gastric bypass. I knew there was a wait and I was okay with it. I stayed in overnight and they were fine. There was one issue but it got sorted. I had good treatment and they were lovely.
Very good. All the departments have been good over the years. Always on time and helpful. Easy to get around too.
they were amazing at the gastro department. Lovely, from the receptionists to the security and porters. They were all so so lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Couldn't be more welcoming and graceful. They're a fantastic service, they really are.
Everything was fine at the appointment with my midwife here.
I phoned them to tell them the support around my leg was broken. They told me I would need to go back to the GP. The GP said they didn't deal with it so I had to call them back again.
I waited two weeks for an appointment for my knee. I went straight in at the appointment with no waiting around. It meant I didn't even have to pay for parking. All was brilliant.
I am struggling with the waiting time for my appointment coming in August.
I came a month ago for a CT scan. They were very good and on time. Everything was very good there.
I got lost getting into the hospital. We were an hour early and they saw us earlier which was amazing. In and out all before the actual time at x-ray.
I had an MRI and the people were brilliant.
Excellent, very good and professional.
Been once and they were good but not that helpful. I waited an hour for my x-ray and it was hard to navigate.
They saw me for my knee. I'm still on their list now.
Very good at urology. I had a catheter fitted and it was very good. No problems.
It was alright. I had a head scan as I suffer with headaches a lot.
I had my gallbladder removed and the anaesthetist had had covid herself so had an understanding of my condition.
I have to be honest, they're very good. They have to be good because they're checking your ticker. Appointment wise they're very good and see you on time. They are good with follow up appointments too. They do all the testing here and send results to Heartlands.
The service is great at the eye clinic.

Doctor was very nice, explained the procedure. 2 week referral, was seen in less than a week
I attend the asthma clinic every 6 months. The care and treatment is excellent.
They have done an ECG and now I'm waiting for a CT angiogram now.
Urgent 2 week referral done by my GP to Breast Clinic in July 2024. Referral was declined by a consultant stating on the basis that a mammogram had been done 6 to 12 months previously (this was incorrect). Also must note that 12 months previously my GP had on 2 separate occasions done non urgent referrals to the breast clinic which were also rejected.
My GP went back to the breast clinic to inform that the consultant was incorrect and that I had not had a mammogram or been seen in the last 6/12 months.
After 13 months of attempted referrals to the breast clinic I was eventually seen on the September 2024 by a locum consultant who huffed and puffed throughout the consultation and a number of times said that he would be discharging be that day. After my same day mammogram it turned out that I needed a vacuum assisted biopsy which was swiftly carried out. It is now October 2024 and I have heard from no one as to the results of my biopsy.
The radiographers, nurses etc were professional, knowledgeable, empathetic simply amazing people.
The referral process is a disgrace. The consultants are rude and arrogant and at a time when someone is at their most vulnerable I do not understand why they even think it is ok to treat or speak to anyone the way they do.
The time taken to come back to a patient with their biopsy results is unfair! There has to be a better system. It is coming up to 4 weeks after my biopsy and I have heard nothing.
I went to the pre-op assessment unit with my mother. The care, treatment and support was excellent.

The Discharge Letter provided by Ward 20A Solihull Hospital to the nursing home my 99 year old mother was transferred to, only detailed the Buprenorphine 7 day patch she had with no mention of the other pain medications she was receiving during the 24 days in Heartlands and Solihull hospitals and indeed prior to the fall as prescribed by her GP. The patch had been removed but at least on arrival at the Nursing home it could be reapplied. However the oral Morphine and codeine she had received for the previous 24 days were not mentioned whatsoever. Hence the nursing home were unaware of the level of pain medication my mother had been receiving. Prior to being admitted to hospital my mother received both the Buprenorphine 7 day patch and 2-3 doses of Codeine prescribed by her GP for at least the last 18 months.
The pain my mother suffered during the transfer without any pain meds and for the rest of the night and most of the next day was appalling and down to the incompetence of Solihull hospital Ward 20A Discharge Team.
Dear Relative
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about Solihull Hospital – apologies for the delayed response. We are really sorry to hear that there were significant issues with your mother\'s care - specifically the quality of teh discharge letter from Ward 20A that did not have full medication details and that this caused significant pain and distress to your mother.

It was okay. One of the women during the MRI scan was off. They called before hand to make sure there was no contrast was being used due to having one kidney. The receptionist said it would not be used and was not mentioned on the notes. I got to the hospital and they said they needed to prep me for the injection. I told them I was told I was not having that because of my kidney. They ended up cancelling the procedure on the day to reschedule the week after. I asked the receptionist and she said it was the consultant's fault but I think she was trying to cover her tracks. This was meant to be an urgent appointment too.

I am 10 months post prostatectomy. After my PSA increasing by a factor of 10 from first, post prostatectomy test (0.03 to 0.28), I expected my Consultant to at least get back to me, no contact! Next PSA test was delayed due to phlebotomy department testing for Uric Acid not PSA, I was sent another form for blood test but this was sent to the wrong address so it took my neighbour a week to sort out. In the mean time, I phoned Consultant Secretary who sent out another form for bloods. This test showed PSA had risen again, this time to 0.98, still no contact with consultant. I was meant to have a consultation in August, to date, I have still had no contact with my consultants. I have now decided to go private as MY NHS has badly let me down and I am not going to mess about as Cancer kills!

Spoken to Consultant Urologist 2 months after that. Finally had my Prostatectomy 7 months after first diagnoses 18th Jan 2023. PSA has increased exponential from first post op test still not spoken to a medical professional 6 months after first post op PSE AND STILL NO CONSULTATION PLANNED!!. I felt like my husband could have done with more support.

I had an operation to remove a basal cell carcinoma. A 3 year wait for an operation the hospital said it would be. They measured it, took photos of it and examined it and sent me home. Before I left they did say that the next time I came there was going to be a surgeon there, but there wasn't. 2 to 3 months later at my next appointment, no surgeon. I turned up, they measured me again, after around 6 months it became really frustrating. I asked to be signed off because of being messed around. My wife, kids and all the people that cared for me told me to go back and get it sorted. But there were too many times I went there and nobody did anything. When they did get around to doing the surgery they did it perfectly. Kept me in overnight. Stay was great.
Dear Patient
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about Solihull Hospital - apologies for the delayed response. Brilliant, can get an appointment and I'm seen on time.

GP referred me to the hospital Genetics councilor and respiratory dept took 2 years , quite difficult they wanted to do an appointment over the phone and I did not have a phone that could do that. So rescheduled an appointment face to face for 4 / 5 months after the original date. After seeing doctors they referred me to heartlands for tests for cystic fibrosis, was fairly quick. The results took 7 weeks to come back and said it wasn’t cystic fibrosis but something else. they referred me back to Solihull.

My bowel resection surgery went to plan, however my post operative care was riddled with errors that left me at Solihull in a debilitated state, and suffering malnutrition. To recover I was transferred to QE after 12 days for TPN nutrition. Unfortunately more errors continued which kept me in for a further 12 days, where I suffered an infection, and was given phlebitis. I am now at home traumatized and weak, but recovering.
Incidentally another patient in my ward at QE, was doing well with his self physio, I commended his drive to get his mobility back. He looked about, and whispered across "It's fear". He was not alone.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about the Solihull Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham – apologies for the delayed response. They moved me to Solihull Hospital after my hip operation and I was there for a few days for rehabilitation. The Occupational Therapist made sure I had all the aids I would need at home before I left the hospital. They were ever so good at sorting it out and they came to visit me at home. The consultant said I can have treatment there every 12 months for the osteoporosis.

I had a frozen shoulder which I was referred for by the doctors. It has been a few years since I had the treatment at the hospital.
I originally had to go to the Heartlands hospital for consultation, however for the injection and treatments I was referred to Solihull hospital
The service and experience of care was good. The consultants and staff provided me with information and advised on the processes. Because of the treatment and care I received, my frozen shoulder has got better, and I no longer experience any pains or discomfort.

Really good apart from the fact it's gone to phone appointments. I'm contacting them today to see if my health check will be face to face. If I want something on repeat prescription, they sort it out.

I have operations booked in at Solihull hospital for my leg. I am on the verge of becoming homeless after the operation.
No one is willing to assist me with accommodation. I currently live with my friend and cannot afford the rent. Hospital informed that as soon as I found accommodation and where to live after the operation they will be able to proceed with the operation.
We are sorry to hear about the circumstances you are experiencing please contact our Patient Experience Team if you still require our assistance on 0121 424 0808 or via email pals@uhb.nhs.uk

My daughter broke her arm. I complained due to the after effects but was told it is common risks, which I had not been made aware of. At a follow up appointment to investigate, they did not know why I had been booked in and did not assess her. They wrote in the notes I was happy with everything. When I expressed how unhappy I was. The complaint was dealt with by an apology letter but I do not feel this rectifies the problem. I have also been waiting over a year for her dyspraxia referral which they wrote to an old address, even though my address was updated on system. They looked at the old notes and now I am on a waiting list again.
Please accept our apologies for not responding to your posting

Medical staff, including doctors, nurses and consultants failed to listen to my concerns when I voiced them regarding my mother's condition. They failed to request GP notes/medical history until I pointed this out to the consultant & by this time my mother had now spent around 5 weeks in hospital in total. They have never made any attempts to talk to me or keep me informed but instead I had to basically chase after them in order to get them to even acknowledge the basics, which was drug suitability/over- medication and interactions. My mother was discharged yesterday for the second time since December 2017 and still has her original condition present. We, as a family have lost all faith in her GP surgery, Solihull Hospital and the paramedic team who called out today 25th January 2018. We are now forced to struggle as a family trying to cope with an elderly confused and delirious lady who will not allow us to support her due to her confused state and associated suspicion and paranoia.
I have been to Solihull hospital a few times and I think that it is a good hospital. The staff care about the patients and the place is nice and clean. The coffee shop is expensive and the parking is difficult, but it is mostly all good.
I feel like I live here as I am here so often. The care provided is excellent. They have looked after me like gold! I have been to other hospitals, including one in Warwick and Good Hope in Sutton, and they are good, but Solihull hospital is amazing.
I mainly come here for cardiology and see a doctor about that. The doctor is lovely. The nurses are very kind. I cannot fault the care that I receive. I do think it is wicked that they have removed the A+E from here though.
The parking here can be difficult. Usually my wife drops me off and then has to go round looking for a space for ages. We do prefer coming to Solihull Hospital than any other hospital, though. QE and Heartlands Hospitals have awful parking - it is a big issue. The care given here at Solihull Hospital is good. I have COPD and come to see a consultant and they are helpful.
I had a renal transplant here and was looked after well. I come back for check ups. The after care is good.
