"Online booking is difficult"
It's really hard now to get an appointment as it's online so. I just wait until I see a doctor at the hospital.
It's really hard now to get an appointment as it's online so. I just wait until I see a doctor at the hospital.
The service is good. Most of the time we get appointments and same day ones.
They bully you and waste your time, one doctor called social services on me. Never met in my life only on phone. Rude, controlling, unprofessional doctors. Avoid if you can. NHS is a broken system.
Booking appointments online is as bad as the phones. I can't do it myself. The care depends on who you get, each GP says different things. Overall they are pretty good though.
I have a callous on my toe and I've had no feedback whatsoever about what's going on. Everything is on a list and you don't know where you are on that list. For a big practice like that they need to tell patients where we stand. They don't provide sexual health services either, they just call you first.
The Dr had no interactive skills, not concerned about me, no warmth etc. needs patient interaction course, just typing away while trying to ask questions like a robot, terrible experience felt like I couldn't ask about a different issue, would have to have separate appointment for that. Not good, will change my GP
Dr showed no warmth, friendliness, just typed away on her PC, needs to go on course to interact with patients.
I have got used to the fact that I have to drive to the surgery to get an appointment and that I can't call them. They have an app that doesn't work well. Going in works better.
Brilliant, I find it easy to get an appointment and can get same day appointments too. They're pretty good.
I want to register my husband here.
Very good. My only concern is trying to get an appointment. If I can I turn up as soon as it opens to get in. It's too hard to get one over the phone. The GPs and staff are friendly. I have been with them for 15 years and have no plans to change GP.
They referred on which was very good. The GP is good and communication. We can get an appointment too so it's good all round.
Have been suffering with balance problems, attended the surgery at 8am to get a telephone appointment for medication review. No telephone appointments available but GP said he would see me straight away. Very thorough assessment, sent me for Blood test and ECG which were done whilst at the surgery.
Service from receptionist and GP far above expectations.
Appointment last week to establish I need X-ray had appointment for this today excellent service from the surgery
Fantastic service from phlebotomist/over 40's health check. Reminders about appointments sent. Fitted me in when no appointment was available. Set up appointments with Dr for follow up. Doctor over phone appointment within 10 minutes and explained everything. Answered all my questions.
Two weeks ago I went to the GP it was to do with my pill and things like that. When I get through they have lots of appointments. I got in the same day. I received three different messages about samples I had to take. I had a male doctor that I was nervous about because I was talking about my reproductive health but he was nice.
Can't get appointments and when you call you wont get through to them. They're rubbish.
The GP arranged a kidney scan and gave me a blood test. I don't try calling them as they don't bother answering so I just go straight in to them. It's okay as I don't go that often but I do get a lot of water infections but I get it sorted. The GPs and staff are all good and helpful. The receptionists are polite, not too bad. I have never had any problems in that respect.
I see the diabetes nurse here and she is really helpful. She does blood tests and other things. She is very good.
They are not good for women's health issues. Not good.
The GP is okay. I'm happy with the staff.
Excellent GP surgery in all aspects.
Good GP but there used to be a bus every 20 minutes now only every half hour. Buses not always reliable either. Difficult to get taxis at certain times of day.
They are very intolerant and not for everyone. They saw me as a nuisance when I am polite. They only give you 5 minutes and then cut you off when you are in an appointment.
A pretty good GP service. Everything is perfect.
I like my GP. Getting appointments is difficult. I like them but they can still do better.
I have been satisfied with them. I went last week for an itch on my scar and they have given me cream. They're very good and I have no problems with them.
I have found it good. I don't have any problems there.
They are quite accessible. I can get appointments when needed.
Very difficult to see my GP. Long waits in the phone queue to get an appointment every time I call.
My GP made a referral. I wasn't given an option of what hospital it was just sent to the nearest but it was within the two week urgent referral process.
Really good. Very attentive. They are thorough by talking about issues in depth. Very friendly and helpful.
They are not good at picking the phones up. the reception staff are always in a rush. The doctors are good.
There wasn't a follow up from the doctor or the hospital after being referred from her GP. She hasn't received any extra services or help after that MRI appointment.
They're good, very good. I can call them and see my own GP. They will offer me face to face or telephone appointments. They're really good.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on time and referred to the QE by my GP.
They're fine. Easy to get an appointment for the kids but for me it's a bit harder. They prioritise children and elderly. It takes a long time on the phone to make an appointment.
They have always been great. The doctors and nurses are very good. Reception staff needs some people handling training.
Very good GP. Easily can get appointments.
Can get appointments but have to wait for an hour on the phone.
Quite happy and satisfied by the support received.
Overall experience is fine. At times very difficult to get an appointment but doctors are very helpful all the time.
GP's understanding of mental health and Neuro-diversity is appalling. Patients don't feel in safe hands - Please consider mental health!!
Went to GP with hip issues. Can’t get appointments, they said they would refer me to QE which would take months. So went to A&E and within 2 hours they did x-ray and then sent to GP and GP will refer to ROH.
I'm registered with a doctor, been with the doctor for the last 10 years. They remind me of my appointments. Can be on the phone to them at 8:30am and they won't answer then there are no appointments. Then they will book me an appointment for in a couple of days.
Having issues with stomach, asked to see a doctor. Doctor said he would refer onto gastroenterologist through NHS. Still having issues and no appointment offered in months. So went private and had an phone call next day and appointment the following day at Good Hope.
Miserable knowing that some people are really ill. At the moment I feel alright.
Took the doctor here and had my flu jab and covid booster. The staff will sort out a doctor when I need one.
I've been with them since I was born and they are excellent. Very helpful & supportive all the time.
They're good, never struggled to get an appointment or anything I need done. They triage you over the phone, then if you need face to face, they give it to you.
Very nice doctor, very polite, and listened well
They're okay. Sometimes when I've been they've been dismissive. I think it's because I'm a young mom they think I'm over exaggerating.
It's really hard to get an appointment but they offer either face to face or telephone consultations. I hope they offer hybrid appointments going forward where people can have the option of having telephone consultations or face to face appointments, which is good for people who have to work.
Good service I can get appointments.
GP ok but trying to get an appointment is difficult. Unable to get through on phone.
Very good.
Excellent organization of Covid vaccine programme. All staff excellent and friendly. Everything thought of even somebody to man the outside parking with all the extra traffic
It was very efficient. Staff and vaccination volunteers were very friendly and professional in their approach.
Overall good staff and services however long wait to book appointment.
They were OK during Covid, Can't do any better.
They regularly send prescription to the local pharmacy instead to a company despite clear instructions on the computer to send to company. It takes a week to sort out with several calls all around and my son is left without milk feed for a week. Sheer incompetence
They've been great for the most part, although my doctor retired and it was months before I knew about it, so that when I called to get an appointment with her I was quite taken aback. Due to Covid I have yet to sort out of I have been given a new doctor or if I'm just passed onto whichever doctor is free when I need one. It's quite disconcerting. They just need to share more information with their patients.
Very satisfied with the way they are working hard to make sure everyone gets their vaccine and also keeping everyone at their 2 metre distance their service is wonderful and you feel at ease as soon as you enter the building because everyone is at the right place pointing you to the right direction please continue with the wonderful and successful service you are doing.
Fantastic caring staff on hand to give information and support.
Phoned to advise I was eligible , appt booked over phone.
Service was organised well and staff were knowledgeable and thorough
They are an excellent practice. I can always get an appointment the same day if I need one.
Well organised, polite, efficient and friendly
Super great. Got myself and my carer in for our vaccines at the same time, dealt with the fact we were moving house between doses seemlessly
They are friendly and extremely helpful.
Well organised, friendly staff
Impressed by the level of care and commitment to patients, even during the pandemic.
Before Covid I could always see a doctor by just making an appointment. During Covid it's been a telephone call from a doctor & they decide if they need too see me.
Poor, don't call back when should. Can get to see GP or appointment.
I have found them helpful. I can usually get a same day appointment although you have to keep trying to get through on a morning. They were very efficient with my vaccines.
Before this pandemic it was difficult to obtain an appointment. Literally you have to call at a certain time or you would not be able to be seen, so if you are very ill you have to wait another day or until you get better. Now in the pandemic there has been no chance to be seen, also no chance to discuss anything with the doctor.
Always given advice when needed. Face to face appointments are available following telephone consultant with doctor.
Have been with this practice for over 40 years. Always had excellent service here.
Excellent from Drs and Nurses also reception staff.
Good
Very good service order my tablets and get them sent to my chemist.
Doctors nurses receptionists are all so helpful and they make you feel valued no problem big or small they deal with you so professionally and compassionately.
Through lockdown they've adapted so well, and patient call backs have been thorough and on time
I have never experienced one fault with this surgery. They genuinely care. The Receptions are kind, caring and helpful. The Doctors I have 100% trust in when ever I visit and I always come away feeling reassured. I have never had a problem booking an appointment to see the Doctor or Nurse. I have nothing but praise for this surgery.
I feel that the GP service has deteriorated since the pandemic. You can’t get to speak to your GP who knows you and getting an appointment at the GP is rare, They have not followed up on test results or an increase in medication to see how they are working. You just don’t feel that you are able to speak with them since the pandemic. The hospitals are the same. They cancel appointments and don’t even tell you that they have done so or the reasons why etc. I don’t feel confident in the service any longer.
I went in for my covid vaccination and the process was incredibly efficient. Doctor was very helpful in booking my appointment and has been very supportive with some mental health issues.
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: Riverbrook Medical Surgery
I have nothing but praise for River Brook Surgery. Excellent Doctors, whom I have total trust in. Very well run practice. This is evident in the services it offers to patients. They have given thought to working patients by opening seven days a week and until late during the week. The Receptionists are helpful, kind, approachable and friendly. I have been a patient here for 38 years and every visit has been a positive experience. The Doctors I have complete trust in. I always feel reassured when I come away from an appointment. I know I can ask questions and never feel rushed during my appointment. At this Practice, its obvious that they work as a team and genuinely do care about their patients. Every experience with the Nurses and HCA has again been positive, in that they talk to the patient to reassure them . They always explain what is happening. I will stay living in Bham purely to stay under the care of this excellent practice.
Although it's a bit tricky hitting redial for 10 minutes at 8.30 in the morning, I have always received a same day appointment. My experience is that all of the staff are professional, kind and caring.
I have been receiving support for depression from this General Practice for the last 15 years. Riverbrook Medical Centre have been really fantastic, both for the care of my late husband, and for my own mental health. My GP also helped by referring me to Gateway Family Services, who have been wonderful too.
Many thanks for your positive feedback, its keeps us going the right direction.
Location is very good but difficult to get an appointment
Many thanks for your reply, I'm very sorry you have found it difficult to get an appointment. You may not be aware that we have pre-bookable appointments up to 4 weeks in advance, book on day appointments, online bookable appointments, Saturday appointments bookable from 4pm Friday, Sunday appointments pre bookable anytime. We offer telephone call backs and the facility to book into another surgery as part of the SDS My Healthcare challenge fund hub scheme. Please contact the surgery for further details.
Phoning for an appointment can be a problem as by the time you get through the appointment sometimes have gone
The Drs in the practice are good when you get to see them.
Many thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately telephone lines are very busy in a morning but we have tried to relieve this by now providing online booking facility via our my healthcare app. You can also ring after 4pm on Fridays to book for a Saturday or Sunday appointment. Hope this information is helpful.
