Lack of communication and/or explanation

I attended the QE hospital for radiotherapy treatment. I found the service and care okay and this was mainly because there was a lack of communication from staff in the department. They did not explain anything to me when I was undergoing treatment. It was just 'do this, do that'. They could have been more caring and explained what they were doing and why. I did see a consultant here was was very good, they were very matter of fact and got straight to the point which I really liked.

  • Keep language appropriate and civil
  • Remain professional and treat people's comments fairly
  • Engage with the content of the review by addressing specific points and avoid cut and pasting a standard response
  • Don't disclose the service user's personal details or any potentially identifying information
  • Where appropriate leave organisational contact details e.g PALS or patient engagement teams for people to get further information
