I was told to sort out my own medication

I phoned and asked for antibiotics to get rid of a cough that I have had for over 2 weeks. I explained I’ve had no Carona symptoms ie temperature or fevers. (I’ve isolated for 10 days or more regardless.) Richard Tennant from YWHC asked if I’d had COVID test I replied no. I’m not sure how they work or how to do one anyway. He told me I need to do one, he wouldn’t help unless I did!!! I’m wasting nhs time by being on the phone. I said I haven’t booked an appointment so as not to take up anytime. I should have just got the medication off people I know who may have spares and he told me “yes do that then”
