Generally good but some uncaring staff
I had an operation on my hands at the ROH. The surgery was a day procedure but because I lived alone they said that they would be keeping me in overnight to ensure they could put home care in place for three days. I ended up being kept in for 8 days because of the difficulties in arranging home care. The surgery went well and the doctors were great. Most of the nurses were kind and caring and I did receive excellent care from most. I feel that some staff failed to read through my notes because I requested help to go to the toilet and the nurse stated to me very rudely you've only had an operation on your hands you can go yourself. This highlights that she had not read my notes and was not aware of the situation, my health problems, and why I needed help. They did not give me the opportunity to explain why I needed help.
