"Overall, I have no complaints"
I have a positive experience when booking appointments and booking bloods. They have an online booking system and offer by phone too. Overall, I have no complaints.
I have a positive experience when booking appointments and booking bloods. They have an online booking system and offer by phone too. Overall, I have no complaints.
They're alright. See them when something is really bad. They do appointments straight away and they're not bad at all.
Reception staff extremely ignorant, and take a very long time to answer the phone.
No continuity of care, very young inexperienced doctors who do not have any initiative.
They're a good practice, very helpful and informative.
Dreadful service start to finish, thank goodness for private healthcare.
They're quite good. They chase up appointments and the nurses are friendly and quite accommodating.
Good and I can get an appointment easily. The online service is easy to use, just answer some questions and then they get back to you the same day.
I had an initial appointment 2 weeks ago and they referred me on. That was all they did. The GP was good and listened.
So far so good. I manage to get appointments. Staff are helpful and I have no problems.
Generally good. Online is available but I usually go in person or call. I'm a dinosaur and a firm believer that you can't put down subtleties and nuances on paper. You have to be face to face.
Very slow moving. They keep you ages on the phone. They don't give you appointments and lose blood samples and test results. The list of poor service delivery goes on and on.
Excellent support provided by my GP during pregnancy. I can easily get an appointment with my own GP.
Dear patient
Congratulations on your pregnancy! And thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. It’s great to read that you have felt supported during such an important time.

The send me text messages to ask how I am and ask me to come in for blood tests and they get them arranged easily. I've been with them over 50 years and they have been good for all of them.
Dear patient,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we really appreciate it.

They are good but you have to wait a long time to get an appointment. When you do get in, the GP or nurse listens and are helpful.
Dear patient
Thank you so much for your feedback and 5 stars, much appreciated.
The frustration in waiting for a GP appointment is, unfortunately, a widespread issue affecting all of us.
WLS attempts to address this issue by offering patients different options to secure an appointment.
None urgent appointments can be booked via a V consult, which is a form submitted via our website; once submitted, the patient will be contacted within 3 working days with an appointment.
You can also find the LIVI app on our website, which is a FaceTime consultation with a local GP.
Not all medical issues need treatment by a GP. Pharmacy First is an NHS scheme whereby a prescribing pharmacist offers a full consultation and then treats the patient.

I hope some of the information provided is of some use to you and once again, I thank you for sharing your feedback.

My partner is bed bound and I called for home visit for his covid and flu jabs but he was taken in to hospital very poorly. They called and I told them he was in hospital and advised to call when he was home which I did and was told that the nurse was off ill but would let her know. I got a call for another matter and so I asked about his jabs only to be told they had no more stock and he had missed out. He has a lot wrong with him and weak immune system. What a rubbish service.
Dear patient,
Thank you for your feedback.
I can fully understand your concerns for your partner and I’m sorry to read about his recent hospital admission.
Regarding Covid vaccines, as a practice, we are only allocated a number of vaccines and once they’re gone, we’re unable to secure anymore. I would advise you to call 119 and explain the situation.
If you need to speak with us further, please contact the surgery and ask to speak to the Reception Manager.

I tried to call the GP but couldn't get through or get an appointment as I had a lump on my neck that kept getting bigger.
Dear patient,
I’m so sorry to read that we were unable to reach your expectations for this issue. I do hope by now that you have seen a GP?
If not, I urge you to please contact the surgery for an appointment.
If you are unable to get through via phone, please come in and speak to reception staff, who will arrange an appointment for you.

Their warm, caring attitude helps me to feel at ease when discussing sensitive and personal issues. Though it can be hard to reach them they are very good.
Dear patient,
Thank you so much for your feedback and 4 stars.
It’s so important that patients have trust and confidence in their health care provider, so we’re pleased to read that you feel at ease in our care, thank you.
I will share your feedback with the GP’s and wider team.

A very good GP and easy to get an appointment. Very helpful. You don't get rude receptionists here that everyone tells me about. They can't do enough for you.
Dear patient,
Thank you so much for your kind feedback and 5 stars, we really appreciate it.
We’re especially thankful for your recognition of our reception team, who we are very proud of. They work so hard to ensure the surgery runs as smooth and efficient as possible.
I will share your feedback with all practice staff.

Very helpful with my condition. It can be difficult to get an appointment and I don't like the system. After waiting 30 minutes on the phone there are no appointments. They gave me an appointment via video but I had to download the app to get the appointment which wasn't the most helpful.
Dear patient,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We use all feedback to help improve our services.
We’re aware that phone lines into the surgery are busy and how frustrating this is for patients. We’ve recently installed a new phone system that allows you access the option to request a callback, we’ve had some very positive feedback about the system.
It’s annoying having to install an app for a FaceTime consultations, but once it’s installed, it’s there for easy future access. You can also complete a v consult via our website and a member of staff will be in touch with an appointment date within 3 working days. Please do note that this option is for non urgent issues.
We can offer you evening and Saturday appointments at the local hub surgery.
We’re also in the middle of cold and flu season, which means we’re exceptionally busy and of course, our own staff are not exempt from this.
I hope some of the above information will be useful to you in the future.
Once again, thank you for talking the time to leave your feedback.

Excellent GP, always provided quick support. I can easily get appointments due to my special needs.
It's been useless to get through since covid. I usually get an overspill Saturday appointment. There is about 27 people in the queue first thing on a morning.
Dear patient,
Thank you for your feedback.
I\'m sorry to read that you\'ve been experiencing issues getting through to the surgery.
We\'ve come a long way from the days of COVID. We have a new phone system that gives the option for a call back, without losing your place in the queue. Many patients find accessing our website and completing a V consult a quick and convenient way of securing an appointment. Appointments can also be booked via the NHS app or the Livi app which, again, can be accessed from our website.
I hope some of the above information will be of use to you for future bookings.

They referred my daughter and I'm really happy with them. They are very good at giving appointments and if I want to see a particular GP they accommodate that too.
Dear patient,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback, we appreciate it.
We fully understand the importance of having continuity with a Doctor and the reception team will always do their very best to accommodate this where possible.
I will share your positive comments with the WLS team, thank you again.

Been with them 44 years and they're good. I've never had any issues with them. I can always get appointments. They do make you call at 8AM which is disgusting though.
Dear patient
Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback, we appreciate it and we really are grateful for the 5 star rating.
We do ask patients to call at 8am if the wish to book a same day appointment. We do this purely for those patients that find themselves in the situation of needing a GP on that day. For routine appointments, we have slots can be booked up to two weeks in advance. We also have access to other local surgeries for evening and weekend appointments as well as Livi appointments, which take place via face time. For anyone wishing to complete a form, we have V Consults, this can be accessed via our web page. Upon submission of a V Consult, a member of staff will contact you within 3 working days with an appointment date.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Terrible to get an appointment. The doctors are good but getting an appointment is just too difficult. The system is terrible.
Dear patient,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, all of which we take very seriously.
We fully appreciate the frustration in obtaining an appointment with a GP and we\'re always looking for ways to improve waiting times and other services for our patients.
We have just installed a new phone system that has been very successful in reducing the amount of time that patients have to wait In a queue. The new system has an option for patients to select a call back, without losing their place. To date, we have had some very positive feedback about the new system.
We have also extended our phone line hours, so we no longer close the lines between 1 - 2pm.
We have access to extended hours, meaning we can offer our patients evening appointments at both Northwood Medical Practice and Collage Green Medical Practice, between 18:30 - 20:00. This option is very useful for patients who work full time hours.
For patients who have access to a computer or smart phone, there is the option to submit a v consult. This is an online form asking patients to detail their request and we will then respond within 3 working days.
https://m85071.thevconsult.net/
You may already be aware of the Livi app, which is a facetime consultant with a local GP, who can then prescribe any appropriate medications, treatments and referrals. Full details explained via the link below.
https://www.livi.co.uk/
I do hope that some of this information will be useful to you, and of course you are welcome to ask for any clarification and we\'ll be more than happy to help you.

Very hard to get an appointment. Most of the time we call NHS 111 and they book an appointment for us.
Dear patient,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
I would like to take this opportunity to update you on a few changes at WLS. We are now operating a brand new telephone system which allows the caller to opt for a call back without losing their place in the queue.
We are also now able to secure per-bookable appointments up to 2 weeks in advance, which reduces the need for our patients having to call the surgery at 8am each morning.
If you have access to a computer or smart phone, we can book you a video call via the Livi app with a local GP. Or there is an option to go to our website and click the v consult link ( provided below) this is a straight forward online form that asks a few basic details, once submitted, a member of our reception team will be in contact with you, within 3 working days with an appointment offer. You can opt for a face to face appointment or a telephone consultation, depending on your needs and preferences.
There is also appointment availability via the NHS app. For patients who need evening appointments, we have the option to use the services at Northwood Medical Practice, which is situated not far away in Cotteridge.
V consult link:

I hope you’ll find some of the above information useful to you.

When diagnosed the “diabetes specialist “ at the practise was more concerned about a tick box exercise that actually dealing with the patient.
She failed to answer any questions, give any explanations or provide any guidance or support. She was not trained in the uk, so it may have been down to cultural differences. She was a key factor in deciding to change practise.
Thank you for your feedback.
We\'re very sorry to read about your negative experience with our Diabetic Specialist. If you wish to discuss this further, I urge you to contact the surgery so we can arrange for a manager to call you.
We would also like to arrange for you to have another Diabetic review. If you wish to proceed with this option, please call the surgery to arrange this.
Kind regards

If you try to contact them via phone, you might as well give up. Better to get them online. You can access prescriptions through them but that's it.
You have to call at 8am. 1st in the queue then cut you off, then call back 17th in the queue and gives a message of no more appointments. Eventually get through and they say no appointments.
I can walk in here and get an appointment but it's not as close as the other practice.
Dear patient,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
Some patients do prefer to attend the surgery when the doors open at 8am in order book a same day appointment. Patients have given us feedback that they prefer this option as they find the wait on the phone line frustrating, which we completely understand.
I would like to take this opportunity to share that we now have a new phone system installed which has made a huge improvement on waiting times. The new system allows patients to opt for a call back without losing their place in the queue.
To date, we have received some very positive feedback from patients and one patient in particular no longer feels the need to attend the surgery in person to book appointments for himself and his wife.
I do hope that you find the above information useful and maybe, if you use the callback feature, you can come back here and update your experience with us.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.

Very helpful but very difficult to get through on phone.
Hard work. Call at 8am for an appointment and they're all gone by the time I go in, there's no appointments. It's hard work.
I've got my first appointment with the mental health nurse next week. Can get appointments sometimes its taken a bit of a while to get through but that's everywhere isn't it.
Call 8am , waiting 45 minutes, get to number 1, then cut off. Try again, another 35 minutes, get to number one, again cut off.
In honesty, would be less frustrating if they just said they couldn't take your call at the start, at least then you wouldn't spend ages waiting for someone to answer, when they're not going to answer the call anyway.
It is not just my GP surgery but all surgeries should be offering the ability to book appointments on line, I sat on the phone Tuesday for 34 mins waiting in a queue just to try and get an appointment, it's ridiculous, no wonder A&E is over used! I also think that ALL staff ie physio etc should be working shifts so that the hours 8am-8pm are covered, I am sure lists could be reduced. The nurses and some doctors have to work 24/7 but others seem to go home by 4.30pm! Since COVID it has become more and more difficult and frustrating to get a GP appointment, I feel sorry for the elderly who need the care but cannot get it. When I do see a GP they are very good and professional but it's the hurdles you have to jump before you can even get an appointment. I am also on a waiting list to see bone specialists and told there is a 28 week wait just for the initial appointment which does help with pain.If I could afford to go private I would in a heartbeat!
Receptionist service is very welcoming and supportive. Always able to get appointment for my children. Always get back to me.
Helpful and knowledgeable doctors. Can easily get a telephone appointment. They will also see you face to face after a telephone conversation. Doctors are really nice and they're consistent.
Dear patient,
Thank you for your positive feedback about our Doctors, we appreciate it.
Our appointment system is a mixture of both telephone and face to face, it is all about patient choice and what works best for their needs.
We also offer virtual appointments with local GP’s for patients that need to be seen but are unable to attend the surgery. You can access this service using the LIVI app via our website. Should you need to send your GP a photograph or request an appointment, repeat prescription or a FIT note, you will find information about this service on our website.
Thank you again for your support.

Not easily able to see a GP without and inquisition. Feel that we have to look after ourselves. I have MS and Husband has Bowel Cancer. At no time has anyone rung to see how we are coping. They are giving the impression of not caring.
I can't fault them. You can get appointments, you ring at 12pm and they give you a same day appointment. It's over the telephones unless its for the nurse or Midwife and if you need it, you get one face to face.
You can't get in there, you ring them up to make an appointment and can't get one. I feel like they do their best not to see you if they can help it.
I visit the nurse at the surgery every 6 months for my asthma review. They're good and send out reminder letters when my appointment is due.
They're usually very good. Although the last time I tried to get a repeat prescription, I couldn't get through, but this is very unusual for them.
Dear patient,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I’m very sorry to read that on this occasion that experienced issues with your repeat prescription request. We have a dedicated phone line that is open from 11-1pm dealing with requests.
You can also order prescriptions via our website: https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/m85071 or, you can download the NHS app.
I hope the above information will assist you with future requests.

They are good and I am able to get appointments.
Long waiting time and no appointments, they are short of staff.
Extremely easy. My vaccination was at the surgery as a carer / front line.
No real urgency or care no appointments available even though my mom has been in excruciating back pain for 25 weeks happy to dish out tablets but not to diagnose and treat effectively.
Was on hold for 27 mins, to then be told no appointments available and to ring back at 2 pm. What about those who have pay as you go phones, it's not fair! This is an ongoing problem for others too.
Very long periods on hold and very difficult to get an appointment when you get through
Good, can get a telephone appt easily
I have not had much contact with the centre at all since the first lock down. I use to have asthma checks every 6months and blood tests every year but this has all stopped
Very Good
A bit slow in answering the phone.
Doctors show no interest in getting to the bottom of your problems, feeling it appropriate to dish out drugs without any consideration as to what drugs are already being taken and what the core reason is for the problems outlined. I have even been told to 'get used to it'.
Excellent, can speak to a doctor and get an appointment if needed
You cannot get appointments at all, if it's important to speak to a doctor the receptionist buts you on a list and doctor don't always phone back. They are not giving out appointments at all.
I have always received fantastic service from this GP practice.
Reliable. Efficient. Caring
It is very difficult - almost impossible to get through on the phone. Sometimes I have tried more than forty times in a few hour period. When you do get through the service from reception and medical staff is good.
Gps willing to listen to your experiences and work collaboratively with you regarding treatments
Totally supportive from receptionists through to GP's.
Dear Diane,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we appreciate your kind comments.

No issues - cares okay when you get seen. Bit awkward to get appointments at times although afternoons is better to get seen. No real problems.
GP connected to university of Birmingham. Training practice which is very good. I get involved to help students at the practice.
I am having constant problems with them about repeat prescription. Most of the time they are late and I have missed medication number of times.
I have been with this surgery for 45 years and they have always offered a very good service. My children and grandchildren also use this surgery and are also happy with the care provided.
Good service with helpful staff. waiting time and appointment system can be improved.
My son was diagnosed at a very early age by the doctor due to characteristics he displayed. Due to this he has received support throughout education which in turn, has helped him become an adult capable of holding down a job with support. The surgery are brilliant and deal promptly with any request for support or queries I have relating to mark. Luckily, he has sound health and was called in for a “well man” appointment which was very useful in terms of educating him around testicular checks etc. From reception, nurses, GP’s I have received nothing but support and 100 % commitment to helping me.
