"Always see a different doctor"

My concerns were dismissed and I was misdiagnosed. I never get to see the same doctor twice. The problem persisted for 6 weeks and because I was getting nowhere with the GP I went to the hospital's A&E department where I was correctly diagnosed.

"Good support with mental health"

I find the surgery alright. I can get appointments when I need one, but I am good at advocating for myself. The doctors have been very good in supporting me with my mental health struggles.

"Medication review"

The surgery has agreed that the online system does not work to get a medication review, then why when you call do they say you should do it online. It's taken a formal complaint to get a response from the practice and currently discussing the surgery changing their systems. Not everyone can use computers and third party online systems. A clear process / form that can be handed over at the reception and having actioned.

"Disgusting for the elderly"

It's disgusting for the elderly, expecting you to go online to do it and they can't do it. The whole thing is off putting. The messages on the phone lines too. They're not thinking of the elderly at all.

"GPs are okay"

Don't use them much but the doctors are okay. I have been with them since I was young. It's okay when ordering medication.

"Lacking in multiple areas"

There is a lack of continuity of care due to the lack of choice around which doctor you see. The booking system is also no good, everything is geared up for tech savvy people not the elderly. They need to promote the different options and not push exclusively using digital services. I feel that the complaints procedure should also be clearly available to patients. Certain doctors also need to be more compassionate and take more of an interest. They don't communicate properly and should be telling patients everything they need to know.

"Good to get in contact with via text"

They send text messages in general and had sent us a message about the well woman event. They're generally good to get in contact with them, just send them texts.

"Get appointments over the phone"

They're okay in general, they're fine. Difficult to get appointments, try not to go there and get appointments over the phone.

"Slow replies to triage form"

Useless! Can't get in, always ask to do a triage form and by the time they get back to you, you're better.

"Given advice on scan GP hadn't seen"

GP called and said I should eat healthy and exercise in response to my scan results, but couldn't tell me about the scan as he hadn't physically seen it just said he could give that advice, and upped my cholesterol tablets.

"GP good, more work needed on medical system"

No issues with the GP, they need to work on their medical system itself. They did refer me onto gynaecology and that as fine, just more work on the online system is needed.

"Staff are unhelpful and do not listen"

The receptionists are unhelpful, they refused to check me in for an appointment and said I had to use the self check in, they escorted me to do this. I explained I couldn't use it, but I didn't want too. They did not listen. I don't agree with the self service machines, they are inaccessible for people who have poor digital literacy, and limited cognitive ability.
It is not clear which profession you are speaking too, the staff do not always introduce themselves or their role. The pharmacist does not listen and the priority seems to be changing medication rather than understanding the person.

"In limbo and needing a doctor"

I asked to speak to the physio doctor who I had seen previously and I was doing 8 weeks of physio. I rang on the Monday. It usually takes a day or two to get a reply to the email you have to send. Didn’t get a call so rang them again only to be told he’s on holiday for 2 weeks. It feels like every time I need to speak to a doctor it’s such hard work. Ring tell the receptionist your problem. They send you a link to complete that’s assessed by someone else and maybe two days later you’ll get a call asking you to come in or a phone consultation. My physio was completed using as app it stopped after 6 weeks and I’m in limbo again having to go through the process all again to speak to the doctor.

"Excellent midwife at the GP surgery"

The midwives were really kind and helped a lot. Well supported and received all the information that I needed. Easy to get appointments with midwives there. It's harder to get a GP appointment. I managed to get one eventually by going online.

"I have a rapport with my own GP"

They will come out to me if it's absolutely necessary and will come and take my blood pressure. I call to get an appointment with my own doctor as I thinks it's important to have a rapport and spark with your own GP. I have done well with this GP practice.

"Overall good and effective"

They're really good and okay to ring up for an appointment. You get what they give you. Receptionists are okay but they can be abrupt but I thinks that's the constraints. Overall I think they're very good and effective. They are brilliant at getting prescriptions sent over to the pharmacy. I have never had a time where I'm stuck or without medication.

"Could be dead before they see you"

They're alright, to see a doctor takes forever, you can make an appointment and it could be 2 or 3 weeks later, you could be dead before they see you. I had chest pains and they sent me away. The next day I called back and they sent for an ambulance.

"Pretty good (if you can get an appointment!)"

I was having a mental crisis and my wife rang to get an appointment. The receptionist was told how I wasn't coping but insisted there were no appointments left. Luckily, my wife is extremely persistent and would not be fobbed off and eventually after 5 minutes explaining how serious the situation was, I was given an emergency appointment. The consultation was very good and very helpful.
I have been a patient with this practice for well over 30 years but it feels like they have taken on too many new patients and now cannot offer the service which we are all entitled to.
This morning I tried to book a telephone consultation to discuss my diabetes (which I have been asked to do by a doctor via an SMS message) and despite ringing at exactly 8:30am as I was advised to do yesterday by a receptionist, I simply got a recorded message saying that due to the volume of calls waiting to be dealt with I could not join the queue...try again later. I tried 6 times and got the same message. Eventually at 9:15 I got through to reception to be told that all of the appointments had gone for today. Try again tomorrow.
I won't bother because I know it will be exactly the same again. This is worrying because I am pretty sure the doctor will tell me that my last blood tests showed that I am now classed as "diabetic" and require medication. I assume that at some point the doctor will follow it up by telephoning me and then hopefully I will be able to get the medication I need.
NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!

"I am still awaiting for a treatment."

Still awaiting to see someone about my feet. I have little feeling in them.
The last check up was in April with the doctor. There is an issue of there not being many chiropodist. I am still awaiting for a treatment. I used to go every 3-6 weeks before and not getting to a private chiropodist is an issue for me especially with me being diagnosed with disability.
Would like to see more Chiropodist on NHS like before as it is not always possible to pay privately especially if you are on low income.
I have had to go to the GP 5 times to see if the doctors who I have been advised to see is available, only to be denied access to see him.
Instead a receptionist came out to visit me and provided the medications. I later complained to the practice manager but not heard anything of it.

"Getting a same day appointment is hard."

During covid, it has not been possible to go in. It has been difficult to make an appointment. Phones ring, and it takes multiple calls to get into the queue, the message is that the lines are so busy, that the queues are closed. Getting a same day appointment is hard. I needed to collect a letter last week, and it was difficult to communicate through the in intercom. I overheard a lady trying to get some help for her husband who was dying. She said one of the Drs had told her if she needed anything to speak to a specific Dr, however the receptionist didn't listen to her or sound very empathetic. The lady was clearly distressed and what I witnessed wasn't very kind care or communication. However some of the Drs and staff have been supportive in the past. It would be good if there was consistently this level of service.

"Failure to refer"

For almost a decade I had on my record that they suspect I have rheumatoid arthritis and I was not made aware until I received a print off of my record to go to a&e with during pregnancy. This meant no referral was ever made. I have recently had an x ray that shows degeneration in my knees (gp failed to call to tell me this, I had to call myself) and was told I need a referral. I called as I had not received an appointment in the advised timeframe and that’s because they failed to make the referral. Not only do I now have to wait again in a considerable amount of pain, I have to question if this would even have happened if they referred me when they suspected it when I was 11. I am now 25 potentially waiting for knee replacements because they can’t even make a referral properly

"don't care for patients"

if it was possible to give zero stars I would, I've been ill now for nearly a year this so called doctors surgery has done nothing to help me. they've totally destroyed my already fragile mental health to the point where I've self-harmed and threatened suicide on a number of occasions. Yet they continue to show no care whatsoever it feels like they wouldn't care if I was dead it'd be one less for them to have to deal with

"When I get a call back I can't answer"

Tried to get an appointment the recorded message is so long, Once that's finished they tell you what position you are in 30 mins later I was put through to reception told they will get a doctor to call me later Some of us are at work and not allowed to use our mobiles so when I get a call back I can't answer it because after a long wait HOURS I am at work with my phone locked in my locker. They keep telling us the NHS is open NO ITS NOT.

"The doctors are no longer seeing patients"

The drs are no longer seeing patients yet the receptionists send out texts to make appointments, but you only get to speak to a triage nurse, who doesn’t look at your records. I have really bad piles and consequently have to take dolculax every day, I have been having the capsules for more years than I can remember, then they got that bad with bleeding I had to have extra help with suppositories and extra laxatives which my gp gave me on prescription (I’m 68). But when I asked for a repeat prescription, I was told by the triage nurse that I would have to purchase these from the chemist has the drs no longer prescribed laxatives on prescription
Funny, I still get my repeat every month and guess what yes I have 100 dolculax capsules. I really don’t get it, I could really do with seeing a gp face to face for them to let me know that I haven’t got anything underlying had I’ve been suffering for over 12 months now.
