"Absolutely great"
Amazing. I just recently changed to this one. I use the patients services app and it's really good and easy to get appointments and things with them. Staff are straightforward and really good. Absolutely great.

Extremely disappointed with my appointment with at Newtown Medical Centre. The GP dismissed my shoulder pain immediately, ignored what my physiotherapist told me, and refused to investigate further even though the lump is clearly painful when I lift my arm. He wouldn’t listen and kept saying “it’s just bone.”
He also gave me completely inappropriate medication for a nail infection. Overall, I felt rushed, unheard, and not taken seriously at all. One of the worst GP experiences I’ve had.
Mom booked it for me and went in person. I do feel as though they were very kind, helpful and listened to my questions so it was an overall positive appointment.
The pharmacist took a patient centered approach. He took the time to address my concerns and even went above and beyond to search out questions so as to be transparent. He was very respectful and polite. I am truly grateful. I got a bit upset, when I mentioned about a previous operation, however, his calming, understanding and empathy, allowed me to managed my emotion. Again thank you
They didn't support me or give me medication. Just said they couldn't do anything until the results were back. I was left in pain.
A long long wait for appointments and diagnosed a few years ago. They don't see him regularly.
Hard to access and get an appointment. The time with the GP is so short. They don't listen. It's all about getting the numbers. I can hardly get appointments. I mentioned to them that things have to change but they haven't.
My appointment last month was pointless. They said my teeth weren't bad enough for them to refer me for a brace so I would have to go private.
They were great when I had a hernia and got me sorted. They referred me really quickly.
It's good.
They're good and chase referrals. They're helpful and I don't struggle with appointments.
They're okay so far since transferring. They always see us almost immediately which is good.
This was my mum's GP when she was alive. The doctors knew my mum well, and they know me any time I call. You can call them anytime and they will help you. The doctors and the nurses are brilliant.
Sometimes it's hard to get an appointment. I just do call backs. They just call and don't tell you when they'll do it, I just need to get my results. They only do over the phone appointments and then may call you in for an appointment.
I went in January and they were good, I had the flu which caused blurred vision and nose bleeds. They were more focused on nose bleeds and sent me to the walk in to get more information on how to get it sorted.
They're okay every time I have been. You see different doctors.
Useless, rubbish. I have have to use the patient access app. By the time you fill it in you have lost your slot. If you call them at 8am there are no appointments.
The app allows me to book appointments and they're easy to book. Seen quickly. They're very good.
I had two appointments within 2 weeks. I don't phone, I go straight into them as it's easier and I get the appointment I need.
I went last year as I was feeling very tired and unwell and they referred me on for some tests. I was eventually diagnosed at the end of last year.
They referred me onto the treatment centre for my hip. They've been so good since I moved to here. I have found them much more helpful.
The seem to be fine. I moved here in January and they're okay at giving appointments when I need one.
Difficult getting appointments. You can wait on the phone for an hour before getting to speak to someone and then they tell you there aren't anymore appointments. The online appointments get snapped up within seconds. Accessibility is a major concern. I'm thinking of moving practice.
It's very tricky trying to get an appointment. The timing is crucial, you have to call at 8am. Receptionists are helpful.
Really good.
Not bad but always full. Not easy to get an appointment. The GP listens to me.
Not good, you can't get an appointment, you call and they're always fully booked. The GP doesn't help me or provide support.
The newer GPs are not as good. The reception staff are good and I have no problems calling at 8AM.
My mom always struggles to get an appointment and see her GP. Most of the time she has to go to A&E.
It's painful trying to get an appointment. The doctors are good if you are lucky enough to get one. You physically can't go in to get one either you have to do it on the phone.
I'm really healthy so I've not had to use them in the last 2 years. The GP had to look for me and call me as I had not seen them in so long. To review any medicines its done on the phone. All is okay.
The GPs are lovely if you can get an appointment. There is a long wait on the phone before you get through and all the appointments are gone by then.
They're brilliant with me. I don't have any complaints they diagnosed my prostate cancer on time and referred me to a specialist.
Good doctors. I have no issues there. All is okay there.
I called them to re-arrange an appointment for my ear. I waited for 45 minutes for them to answer. They did arrange an appointment that was suitable for me however. They are good.
There are no appointments even if you try to call them 100 times. They don't answer the phone.
Very helpful staff. A lot of support available and the GPs listen and try to help.
The pharmacy here is really good. Reliable, fast at dispensing. They're really good. Really reliable.
Don’t like that they ask what is wrong with you when you try to book an appointment. It is worse since covid, often no appointments left and sent to UTC. Even when you do get an appointment it can be weeks away.
They respond well to my visits or calls. They solve my issues quickly.
It's good there. It's easy to get an appointment. The midwife is very friendly and kind. I like very much. They make me feel very happy.
Lovely over there, the only thing is you can't get appointments. But when it comes to GPs, reception staff, they're lovely.
It's difficult to get an appointment since covid. Almost impossible. I got told no one was available and to call again at 8AM. I can't book one in advance.
Very difficult to get an appointment. Reception staff are rude and unhelpful.
Good but tough to make appointments. They say to call the next day. For up to a week. If a child is under 3 they will refer to Summerfield.
Every time I book an appointment I see the nurse. I have not seen the doctor for a long time. I take care of myself. They prescribe medication over the phone not face to face too.
I have no problems with them. I don't struggle with them as I don't use them that often.
They're okay. I try not to go often. Just when I really need to. It can take time getting through to see them but they'll always see me.
They're okay. I never struggle with getting an appointment.
What can I say, they are okay for me. If I need them, they are there. No issues, no problems. Staff are nice. It's all okay.
My mom is having dizzy spells. There were no appointments. I will keep calling until they give her an appointment.
They refer onto a lot of modality services when they need to. The appointments are fine and doctors are good. Getting appointments can be hard but the GPs are good when you see them.
They're not good. I haven't seen them in a while. I can't get appointments with them. They tell you to go to the pharmacy or contact 111.
Very difficult to get appointments. Even at 8:00AM, they are hard to get. So you call back and it's the same thing, they are full. The other services are okay, like seeing the doctor but there isn't a constant doctor, they keep changing for every appointment.
The GP is good but it's very busy so if you get an appointment you are lucky.
A five star surgery with excellent GPs.
My GP is okay. It's not difficult to get an appointment with them. I don't need them all the time but whenever I need them I get to have appointments easily. I am satisfied with the services. The doctor is good and provides me with information.
I've never had any problems with the service. To book an appointment with them is an issue as they take days. Most of the time I have to walk in to get an appointment as they are super loaded with so many people. Staff are friendly. The receptionist don't have enough time to discuss issues. The area is clean and tidy.
I never get an appointment and even if I get one it will be with a different GP all of the time.
They ask you to call in everyday. No appointments. They won't give you a next day appointment. They just get lost in the system. You can't go in to book anything as you can't get past the security. You go in there and no one is in there, no one is waiting. It's like they're lying. They don't want to prevent people getting sick anymore. They just deal with it when you are bad. It is so bad.
No good, no good support from them. No regular appointments for the children when they're sick. I will come straight to the children's hospital.
I have to wait ages for the blood test results. It's very difficult to get appointments.
I sometimes have to tell them off but they're good. They'll see me and give me an appointment. They'll also do Face to Face appointments because I don't like telephone. they can't see me that way.
GP referred onto dermatologist within 2 weeks for spots on arms. It doesn't take long to get through. Had a growth on face. Saw the doctor and they arranged for an appointment to sort it.
They're good. Whenever I go, there are helpful and polite staff. I have no complaints.
GP is very helpful, referred us to Women’s hospital on time.
Referred on from GP 6 months ago. Didn’t say it would be a long wait. They are not what they used to be. To get an appointment have to call at 8am. Not everyone can get through or get an appointment. They just say call NHS 111 and they will help me.
Book you in for another day. Wait a bit of time on the phone. initial appointment is over the phone and then they ask you to come in if need be.
It’s good but not easy to call up. If you go on the reception, they tell me to call and that I cannot book in person. It’s not good. Both me and my wife call to see who gets through first.
Saw GP 3 months ago and they referred me to chest clinic. The GP is a big problem. Every time it’s fully booked. Thanks no appointments not good at all.
The receptionists can be a bit abrupt. They will make an appointment for me. Can be a bit hard to get through. And they don't like you coming to the surgery.
I don't have a problem with them, they're good. I get the appointments I need and they are nice people. I can't ask for more.
They're not good - they're not too bad. It's just it can take a while to get an appointment, but they're okay.
Fantastic, Lovely receptionist but hard to get appointment.
I can't get appointments and have to call plenty of times. I start calling at 8am and they don't accept the call until 9 or 9:30am and then they'll say there's no more appointments, so I have to keep calling each day until I get an appointment.
Not so bad. I can get appointments, the receptionist has got used to now. They do me a favour and fit me in. They know me, I still stay with them even though I've moved. They are very very good.
Our GP is so bad, no appointments all the time, they don’t pick up the phone, they have excuses. You call at 8am number 50 in the queue and when you get through no appointment so you have to keep ringing for 5 days. They don’t even give you a chance to explain your situation. My daughter has special needs, they just say they are full.
Little bit bad. If you go to the doctor and ask for medication. If you have asthma they don’t help. The weather changes.
I call in the morning and there's no appointments. They tell me to go online and I can book an appointment a month in advance.
5 days to see a doctor. Ended up going to walk in centre and moved to A&E. 137 calls in one morning to get to speak to someone. Doctors have 30k plus patients . Money making for the bosses but dont help people in need of medical help. No point leaving review as all negative reviews and they do nothing
It’s not easy to get appointments. The receptionist is little bit rough. They don't communicate – the doctors and receptionists are rude and disrespectful. They say if you won’t call at 8:30 than all the appointments are fully booked.
Most difficult practice to get appointment or a call back when you do get either you waiting nearly all day just to get a call back it's a disgrace the surgery needs closing down
They took me off their practice without notifying me. They have security on doors so you can't walk in there. They're running it like a business. Never see anybody in there. What do they need a building for when they're not seeing anyone. They're running the service robotically.
Hard to get appointment.
I am housebound but regularly being contacted by them with regards to medication.
I am very happy and satisfied with my GP.
They are ok but you can’t get through most of the time. Staff is very good and helpful.
Appointment bookings can take days or a week or longer to get trough Gp operators, when answering the call is mostly is already full booked. The booking window is only from 8am to 10 am. After that hour mostly the phone is only answered to tell to call back next day at 8am. It is a nightmare.
Request in or book a call back tomorrow morning and the wait in the cue to see of you are one the lucky ones that will receive an appointment for a call back
Have an extremely bad experience with the practice. They have mis-diagnosed me for over two months when I have been constantly chasing them and they have been telling me to take ibuprofen when I had actually blood clots and a life-threatening condition. When I asked for them to see me in person they said they want me to send them pictures instead and took no samples whatsoever to see what exactly my condition is. Booking an appointment whilst you are inside of the practice is impossible. When you call practice at 8am as they only want you to call at 8:00 am, when the lines are full and they cut you off. if you call any time after, receptionists ask you to call the next day, without even asking what the issue is and understanding the severity of the problem. I called 7 days in a row to be able to get a blood thinning prescription sorted, on 6 of the days without success. I asked the practice to speak to a doctor because I have severe side effects from the blood thinners and am heavily bleeding on my period and have clots as big as my hand coming out, on first day they put on the record that they called me when they never did this, on second day, as I spoke to them the phone cut off whilst I asked them a question. Doctor said she tried to call me several times and she couldn't get through which clearly shows the practice has phone line issues since my phone is available at all times. Since patients can only be reached and discuss via phone this is HORRIBLE and it is scarry to see its not addressed in any way! I explained to practice that I am a single mother in full time employment who is feeling as sick as a dog and receives 0 help from them and that it is extremely hard for me to call every day and be put on hold for an hour, whilst I get kids ready for school as well. Last doctor I spoke to referred me to the hospital, which I feel its the only sensible decision so far, given my situation, but getting to that point was a clear battle and when you are not well this is the last thing you need. I tried to speak to the management on multiple occasions too, to address this, raised an complaint directly with them, called multiple times and received 0 feedback because they simply do not care about the people. They blame it all on Covid and say everyone needs to wait on the phone line. No option to book anything online. Going to practice is only recommended for putting a paper in a box for repeat prescriptions (which reception advised "there is no other way"), whereas for them to check the records and book an appointment for you in any day of the week is impossible...this in the context where bookings are taken only for the next day. 0 logic...if I have no credit to call or no phone access or if my English was poor, I could basically die in my house and they would not care. I really do not want to even imagine what people who have a poor English have to go through when ringing this practice...And I will not start about the second class letters they send for appointments, because that is a totally different level of absurdity in the year 2021 when we have so much technology at hand...appointments made 2 months after you had severe symptoms etc...
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: My GP - Newtown Health Centre.
My GP is very good, he referred me to the hospital for my problem but it’s the hospital that keeps me waiting.
Always have to wait for an appointment. Have to call early in the morning to get an appointment. Doctors are good and explain the treatment well.
Seen nurse asked a few questions and she kept saying ask a doctor
Very good and helpful GP service. I am with them since long and can say they are the best.
I would like the GP to allow us to make appointments nice and easily. Although they are open till late hours, it is still very hard to get an appointment. We have been having to wait over a week to book an appointment.
They don't pick up the phone when you try to call them.
Easy to book an appointment with new system.
The online booking system works as they give you choice. There is a big turnaround of doctors, and many with English as additional language. Inconsistency in how / what letters they send to people.
In order to get appointments you have to call at 8am and immediately there is 25 people on the queue. You then have to wait on the line for 30 mins, and if you haven’t got through by the end of it, they just hang up. Recently, I have got a nice doctor and I can get good treatment. I always ask for her when I book.
The staff are friendly and helped me alot
