"Really good"

They're really good. My husband was a cancer patient and the GP was amazing with him. It is okay to make appointments. Usually I eventually get one but it can take time. I call up to make appointments and it works. My doctor wants to see me about my blood tests and I don't understand why I have to come in when it could be a discussion over the phone. How does that improve services?

"GPs and Team who listen!"

I have been recently having a lot of health issues and as a younger person this has been quite worrying for me.

I have seen several doctors, for various issues and I felt they have really cared about what has been going on. One doctor is really to the point and is also happy to answer any questions I have. Another doctor is really kind and calm- she has been a great presence when I am worried. Again, same for a third doctor who has been really lovely and taken her time to explain things to me. The reception team are also wonderful and if I’m not sure what I need to do they always point me in the right direction.

I don’t say this lightly as I have really had bad experiences in the past with GP surgeries but they really are a good GP surgery.

"Absolutely tip top"

Absolutely tip top because if I want an appointment I can get one. They deal with any problem I have and if I say I need a female doctor they will adhere to that. I have no problems with them whatsoever. I can't believe it's free, we take it all for granted.

"GP called an ambulance"

Called the GP as she had symptoms and high blood pressure, different things. The GP came out and called an ambulance.

"Hopeless and over prescribe"

They are hopeless at dealing with mental health. All they do is prescribe and they don't have the time to go into things too much. They over prescribe medication for any infections. It's a waste of medication.

"The receptionist staff were incredibly rude!"

My mum has been coming to this GP for over 15 years and called last week to get her prescriptions. The receptionist proceeded to tell my mum she no longer is a patient at the GP and to find a new doctor to prescribe the medication. We had to call 111 in order to get some medication. Safe to say we are raising a complaint

"Happier at this practice"

I'm much happier at Maypole surgery, I've not seen them face to face yet but there seems to be lots of nurses. I spoke to the Locum doctor not long ago and they were helpful.

"get appointment straight away"

Ring up at 8:30 and get appointment straight away they prioritize kids. If they don’t have an appointment they will magically fit her in.

"Getting an appointment"

The surgery used to be friendly and caring, it is so confusing for elderly patients to deal with appointments etc now. Dr Aneja told my dad you can book a routine appointment for 2 weeks time , but the receptionist say you can not . Confusing unhelpful my father said he could be dead before he can see a Doctor lol

"Rude reception staff"

The doctors here are amazing and I can not fault them. Unfortunately the reception staff (not all) can be very rude. They demand to know over the phone what you want to see a doctor about which I find very intruding. That is between the patient and doctor. When you tell them that you would not like to discus that with them, they are reluctant to give you an appointment. You can very rarely get an appointment when you first ring up and can take a few days or even weeks , by that time sometimes you don't need to see a doctor. They say you can't pre book appointments but yet in the waiting room there is/was a poster up saying that you can.

"Never get an appointment"

They are absolutely rubbish. The receptionist thinks they are Doctors. Never get an appointment when you really need one.

"Service Not Helpful"

I took my teenage son (17) to GP because he is experiencing mental health issues - depression. GP told us there is nothing they can do- they want to refer him to counselling. We just have to go to a drop-in service in Digbeth or pause. He just falls in between services because of his age. It is also really difficult to keep waiting in waiting room for a teenager let alone family who have smaller siblings etc. My son refuses to go so he is not setting any help at all. Mental health treatment not helpful, other services helpful.
