"Not too bad"
Not too bad. They're sound and don't take long for an appointment.
Not too bad. They're sound and don't take long for an appointment.
I have low iron and was referred back to rheumatology as I have high white blood cells. I haven't heard from the surgery after 4 weeks of asking to speak to the practice manager.
My sisters care for my dad who was in hospital but is out now. He is much better than before and is feeding himself now. The GP are looking after him quite well.
I contacted them recently about my husband who was not well, and was put in a queue by reception, but it was very quick. I was then called back straight away to say that the doctor was coming to see my husband, and the doctor arrived within 10 minutes. This was unusual. The doctor diagnosed him with chest infections and prescribed medication straight away. The doctor could see that my husband was well looked after at home, so did not see a need to move him. The doctor was ever so nice. Usually I don't want to see the doctors. It depends on who you see, you get different treatment and care. I was supposed to have my stitches looked at by the practice, but they were too busy so I had to go to a walk in centre.
To make an appointment, I will be calling but reception are not answering. My daughter went to the practice in person and saw the receptionists not answering the ringing phones. She asked why they were not answering and they told her that they were busy, but they were not doing anything.
My daughter went to the practice to collect her diabetes medication, and she was sent to the hospital as she had covid.
You never see the same doctors each time you go in, so you can not build rapport with the doctors or have any sort of continuation with your care.
Trying to book a doctors appointment or even finding out results from
x-ray and other tests. Nothing comes back to you. Even had to wait on the phone for an hour for their prescription service because something was missing off my repeats. It took three days for a prescription to be filled so three days without tablets.
I spoke a receptionist and explained I have been waiting for my blood results and tried to use the links but wasn't working. Asked if I can book an appointment with a Dr, following his message to call. The receptionist was adamant that is not the process. She didn't want to listen to the situation just kept saying go online. I even asked what happens if I do not have any internet access etc, said go to the practice then. I asked about complaining and her manager, she apparently didn’t know her managers name or email, eventually did give the managers name, no email, no number, no nothing and then hung up on me as I wasn't listening.
Really bad, never get appointments. They do an e-consult and never call back.
The appointment procedure is a headache. I have to submit a form online and just wait for them. It's really difficult to reach a GP. They also keep cancelling appointments and that happen often.
The reception staff are very rude. I have to keep chasing them, they won't treat me.
I don't know how there is 30 to 40 people in front of me in the queue on the morning. How is it possible, it's 8AM. They have started online system booking which is better but it's a long time coming.
I haven't got any problems, no issues at all. They finish early though and once you miss an appointment it is difficult to rebook.
Very hard to get an appointment. The system has changed and now I feel like I don't want to go to them. If I feel bad I go straight to A&E because I know I will get help there.
The hardest part is getting a prescriptions from them to the pharmacy inside. They don't always put them through and I have to go back and forth. It was easier when I could just call the pharmacy.
They do home visits more so now. I don't think they would have if I hadn't have got any worse. One doctor phones me to check up too which is really good.
The service is good and appointments are easy to get.
I was looking for an appointment for a long time but they said I have to go on the NHS app. I didn't know there was a message on the app. When I asked the GP, they said I should be checking my emails so it was my fault. I will have to try to book again. I needed my depression medication as I still need it and it will run out soon. I'm waiting with my son today as they think he may have autism.
I call for an appointment and they tell me to go online. She tells me to go to the neighbours house or a family member to help me go online. When I went to the surgery the man was very nice and made an appointment for me. It's hard to get them to understand me and me understand them.
You're turned away if you can't speak English. You call in the morning and then again in the afternoon and they say to go online which I cannot do. If you don't speak English like me you don't get help.
When I call them they never have appointments. Last time I ended up going into them physically when I had a sore throat and they told me to stop talking which I can't so it's no good.
A good GP. They help you quickly get an appointment. I was seen within 1 hour of calling them. The staff are really nice and I really get the help I need from them.
Good. It doesn't take too long to get an appointment. The doctors are good. They request medication for me too which is helpful.
The service was slow and when I called them they said they would treat us through a phone call and not be seen in person.
Appointments are hard to get. Once I do get one I am listened to and everything. It's so hard to get past the receptionists.
1. No follow on test results I always have to call back
2. Can never get a appointment even if you call at 8 am by the time you get through appointment gone happens always, I stopped I'm not been well for months now I prefer to get them through the app
3. About 7 weeks ago my repeat meds two of them missed out you have to phone the practice let them know. It causes me stress
Over year ago I had a MRI done they found something not right with my spine they told me I will be referred to an orthopaedic service. I waited for over year for an appointment to come through then few weeks ago in August 2024 I had this chronic unbearable pain in my back it went in my legs I lost bladder my mistake
Abdominal pain also I nearly passed out no pain killers helped it was that bad, 2 days later I went emergency health centre. That is when my family told me to contact my GP and inquire about that appointment last year 2023 about June July time
When I contact the surgery I told a clinician everything and about my appointment, it was not sent, why did they not refer me I been waiting over a year?
The feedback was they did the referral I was sent an appointment from the hospital the same clinician phoned me back to tell me that, I told her I did not receive anything in the post because if I did I would have received the appointment on the text message and online NHS app, I knew she was lying.
Then she referred me I have received the appointment now in post
Also text message also on my NHS logic app, appointment is on this month that's how I knew, she was lying that the hospital secretary said I was sent a hospital appointment
This incident is really bad how much it must have damaged my health
You call and they make you wait. It's so hard to book an appointment.
Excellent pharmacy here.
The care and treatment has been to a high standard for over 20 years.
They referred me, they were good. The doctor has a reassuring smile that makes everything better.
I try not to use them as often but they are okay when I have. I don't bother with them that much.
Much better if you go to the surgery but my husband is bed bound. The nurses came out to do covid vaccines and they come out if we need a home visit.
I waited 18 months for a referral thinking I would go to City but instead I was referred to Edgbaston treatment centre. It was good.
I have a head injury that caused me to have mental health problems and I am unfit for any job. When I go to the GP for unfit to work notes they say call them back but there isn't any answer when I do.
The doctors, nurses and support staff are great, but I can't get an appointment! I phone up, wait for ages getting nowhere, then press 1 so they call me back, 2 hours later I explain my problem and they tell me to go to the walk in centre! The last time I went to the walk in centre the doctor who saw me said see your doctor!! Tell me, HOW??
I have been with them for 4 years. It's a challenge getting an appointment. You don't see the same GP. I prefer to see the same person. You have to call at 8AM and just have to hold for almost an hour. There are less doctors and nurses.
The doctors are good. The services are good and the staff are brilliant. The only problem is getting appointments as it can be so difficult. You have to wait and wait. The doctors are informative. Good communication. You have to call by 8AM and wait on hold until whenever.
They have been amazing and supportive to me with my miscarriages. They even sorted me bereavement support. There can be a wait for appointments but once you get in they are lovely.
Very happy with the service received. The GP listens to you and tries to help you out. The staff are very helpful and polite.
The medication has still not been placed on repeat. DESPITE a hospital letter. Which was sent electronically.
They really help me and my family. We have been with them for a really long time and every time we need medication they give it to us without having to wait a week or so.
You cannot get an appointment. Also when you book the appointment they cancel 2/3 times on me. Even if it's for a child.
Long wait to get an appointment even when it's urgent.
No appointments when I ring up. No appointments, surgery is dealing with lots of calls. They say you can only ring up for palliative care or children and can only ring after 10am for meds and other enquiries. They don't want you to go into surgery but in the end they invited me into the surgery as they wanted to check on me for tablets I was taking. When you have blood tests they say if you don't hear anything to presume it's okay. To get any information is very difficult.
Hard to get an appointment even for kids. They don’t answer or offer alternatives. It’s not good.
It can take up to three months to get an appointment. My daughter has chronic hay fever. I call and I'm 70th in the queue and can never get through. Get through finally at 8:06am and there are no appointments left. My daughter needs hay fever tablets, a stronger prescription. I also take medication for my asthma, and the tablets are not on repeat even though I've been on them for years. They get the information wrong. The service could be a lot better and more organised.
It’s Okay. Very hard to get an appointment with doctor. Receptionist not very good. doctor will call back and either say to come in or will tell you to rest, doesn’t give medication.
Not good. when I was pregnant they would give me medication because my blood was O-Negative. But I feel they don’t care.
They're awful. They're so difficult. It shouldn't be that difficult to get appointments. Like if I'm sick, I just need to speak to a doctor or nurse, anyone. I don't need the stress, it's too much. And the staff are good when I see them, it just takes too long.
They were good, but there were long waits and it was long calling them. You'd call them at 8am and then there are no appointments. They need to change or look into cutting down their number of patients.
I've been there a long time. They go by numbers in the queue but you do get an appointment which is not always with the same doctor. It changed when covid happened. I go for my diabetic review every 6 months. That's fine.
Make a call to see a GP, no appointment after 1 hour, had to call 111,to get appointment
They are okay. Can see GP face to face and can get prescriptions. I have no issues with them.
It's been a big mess for the past 2 to 3 years. You can only make an appointment over the phone, then you can't go into the practice to make an appointment. You can wait 2 hours for someone to call back and then sometimes they don't call back at all. They have an app which is too hard to use and you can put in too many symptoms and says to call NHS 111 or you put in too little symptoms and it says someone will get back to you in a couple of weeks. When they do pick up and you ask for an appointment for a child under 5, they will try to find you one.
Impossible to get an appointment, they prioritise under 5's in an emergency. But otherwise you can call and and be 200 in the queue at 8am and you have no chance of getting an appointment. I'd rather deal with my illnesses myself.
Very high demand due to greedy doctors allowing mostly immigrants to sign up to their services leaving ordinary citizens waiting weeks because their appointments go so quick. They need to have less patients !!!
Disgraceful. Never get through by 8am, can guaranty you don’t get one. Stand outside the surgery and they may give you an appointment.
To get an appointment is practically impossible, it's everything really. They're not doing what they're supposed to be doing. There's no communication between services, doctors are no longer autonomous. In the old days doctors used to uphold autonomy. It's so difficult to get through and when you do get through, they can't answer your questions. I just don't go as frequently as I should.
Laurie pike as a GP surgery has deteriorated and gone way downhill. For an appointment calling them is a joke. You have to go there even when sick to get an appointment to speak to the doctors. It seems they play as who they want to see and who they don't. The place needs a complete overhaul of services and it's workers.
Required to call at 8am, even when you do this you may be 30/40+ in the queue. Call automatically disconnects after an hour on hold requiring you to repeat the process.
If at any point you manage to get through, you are then told all appointments have gone try again tomorrow.
I no longer call the surgery and hope my health does not deteriorate as hope is all that is left. The former Dr would be ashamed to have his name associated with this (non)practice
Daughter tried ringing a few times for an appointment and got one straight away. They then referred her to Good Hope Hospital quite quickly. Getting an appointment is where the issue lies.
Waiting long times, never get appointments, all the appointments are full, they tell me to ring back or use the online service but I can't. All the appointments are gone by 10am.
They're good. The waiting list in the morning takes a bit of patience. When I do get through I do get appointments on the day and they're face to face or over the phone.
Call them early at 8am, the lines are busy, end up calling them 30-40 times. Get through and they say they'll phone back, then when they do all the appointments are gone and tell you to go to a walk in centre. The receptionist and doctors are good.
Well, there is nothing to complain about, just the pandemic letting everything get upside down. With the easing of the restrictions, hopefully the GP's will improve the delay.
I managed to speak to the doctor not long ago but I feel like nobody cares about me, or nobody monitors me even though I am on blood thinners.
Calling this surgery should be used as a tortue technique in Guntanamo Bay! I waited 2 hours to be told "no appointment today" come on! The telephone system is worse than anything you can imagine. No number, no please hold message, just mind numbing musical sounds!
Terrible phone system . Needs more answering the phone to assist patients
Twice phone been hand one while been put in the queue waiting to speak to receptionist
Not good during Covid.
Receptionists can be rude and moody.
They don't answer the phone.
Unable to have a consultation for weeks as you can never get through via phone a new econsult has been available but hours shortened cannot always access and generalised multiple choice questions if your symptoms are not included cannot go further with request. Gp’s are inconsistent with consultant advice and totally contradict it with their own opinions I.e if a consult has advised use of a certain medication to control a condition they are not repeat prescribing as they feel it is not appropriate this leaves patients very confused. Staff who eventually answer phones are not very knowledgable on processes and are very much like robots. My issue was not severe however I would imagine many patients would of received a worse service. I have knowledge of the system so did manage to get a consultation.
Very hard to get an appointment, either is over the phone or online. I have days when I called 90 times, 30 times in order to catch an appointment and still not find as the answer is,sorry we don't have any appointment left.
I have already raised a formal complaint with the practice manager (Tracey Humphries), as I believe this practice have been negligent regarding my father & his care.
He had a telephone consultation with a doctor (Dr Burns) on 21/04/2021 as he was experiencing sudden vision issues in his left eye, severe dizziness & headaches, difficulties with co-ordination & balance, confusion, difficulty retaining information and extreme fatigue. He then had another telephone consultation with a different doctor (Dr Sanchez) on 23/04/2021, but still no information was given in regards to what could be wrong, & they made the assumption that it was in relation to his diabetes and high blood pressure. He then saw this same doctor on 28/04/2021, who gave him a full physical examination, but was still unsure what was wrong, and my dad's symptoms worsened, but the GP still sent home. By 30/04/2021 my family decided enough was enough and took him straight to A&E, where they determined he had an ischemic stroke & needed immediate care. He is still currently in hospital & has been working with a physiotherapist & we are awaiting results for his CT scan & x-rays.
I am extremely angry & upset that this was missed by two doctors from the same GP practice. Googling symptoms of strokes myself, I can see that my father's symptoms lined up to this, so I cannot fathom why the doctors would not have sent him to hospital, even as a precautionary measure.
Due to Covid-19 I can understand & empathise with those working in the medical field currently, but surely something as serious as a stroke should have been picked up sooner, especially after a physical examination.
This is not the first, & I doubt it will be the last, time my family have had issues with this GP practice. They were constantly making & cancelling important appointments for my father with the diabetic nurse. His needles for his insulin had changed & no one had bothered to show him how to use these correctly. When we try to call you can never get through or make an appointment, & the receptionist always says to call the following day, but the cycle repeats & you cannot get through. My mother has been agony since March 2020 due to stomach issues, and they have still yet to complete something as basic as an intolerance test.
The staff at this GP can be rude & unprofessional. I feel as though there is no care or thought for their patients, and that they are literally just going through the motions.
Frankly, they need to be investigated, as I don't believe that my farther is the only one that they missed something important & serious with.
Almost impossible to make an appointment to get response from a GP. The cost incurred by long waits in a Telephone queue has a huge impact on my Pension and the frustration of listening to repeated messages regarding Covid is frustrating and stressful.
My experience with this health Centre is that the appointment system is ridiculous and it does not work at all. First of all you have to constantly dial for an hour before you can get through and when you get through they say that there are no more appointment left, this is very frustrating.
The gp service is really good as they try their best to make sure we get seen by the doctors.
Quite a slow service in comparison to other gp services, very poor communication. No feedback on results unless patient chases results.
I am talking on behalf of myself and family, there service has been terrible during this pandemic, no appointment sending people far and wide for check ups and the way they speak to you also. If the nhs can continue and they have why couldn't the gp carry on as normal.
At the moment it’s really bad you can’t get the services we had before and many others I’ve spoken to have the same issue. Attitude off people I speak to are awful and makes me not want to ring.
Awful practice, never able to get through on phone, all GP callbacks gone by 9 am, confusing message on phone, rude and unhelpful staff. When you get through to someone they don’t do what they say. For example I have been trying since August 2020 to get a memory assessment for my 91 year old mother with no success. Dreadful.
Was ok but a bit frustrating as something you can get checked via videos or calls.
My father has been trying to make an appointment to see a doctor for over 2 weeks now. Every time he phones the line is constantly engaged. He is 89 and is not computer literate so cannot log on and make an appointment. He is suffering and does not complain, so hence I am trying to find a way for him to see someone. It's absolutely appalling the service at this surgery. He also has trouble with his repeat prescriptions. Constantly, they don't send them to the pharmacy and you having to chase them.
Can never get through to make an appointment. This community is being failed at the first hurdle due to the shambles that is the modality partnership. How am I supposed to be treated if I can never get an appointment due to to busy phone lines? By the time I am connected the appointments have all been taken for the day and I have to call back the following day only for the cycle to repeat.
You can almost NEVER through on the phone to speak with any of the doctors
So hard to make appointments on phone and online. Phone line is constantly busy. Making online appointment has become ridiculous. The new EConsult appointment system is far too long, complicated and unnecessary especially more so when you suffer from mental health issues. Your asked what seems like 50 questions about your health when most of it is already on the system. This needs to change back to a simpler online system.
You can never get appointment staff are rude
Very good care. No problems everything ok.
Good when I can get to see the doctor. On one occasion I couldn’t get through to the doctor so ended up calling an ambulance. I had a chest infection. I have breathing difficulties so over this they see me regular for blood tests etc. and now I am under the hospital. I got referred to Sandwell and Birmingham Treatment Centre for different things like CT scan and respiratory examination.
Have been registered with the practice for over 25 years. I was very happy with the service. For last few years I am very disappointed with service. It has been almost impossible to book an appointment. Recently I haven’t been able to book there for 4-5 weeks of trying.
I am extremely disappointed as I am never able to book an appointment on the online service and there are never any appointments on the on line booking service available. The Push Doctor service is only available up to 5pm Monday to Friday only. I don't get home from work until 5.30pm what is the point of this service when it does not cater for working people??? I have been trying to get an appointment for my daughter for 8 weeks now without any success. What do I have to do to get an appointment????
There is never any appointments available. Regardless of what time you call you don't even get on the queue. They don't classify children falling and hurting their neck as an emergency and are downright rude to patients. I've made numerous complaints and nothing has changed.
Can never get an appointment and the lies they tell you its shocking. Worst experience ever
The receptionist don't pass on the messages to GP and they contradict what they say to the patients. We only call the surgery if we are suffering but don't get the service we require. We need to be adamant and explain the reason for the call to the reception before getting an appointment. Where is the confidence in that. They don't want to take complaints over the phone and expect to us write in. I always thought that you can complain via phone, face to face or in writing. When asked where it states in there leaflet that we cannot complain on the phone they have no answer. Also there is no seniors available in the evening to complain too, so we have to wait until the next day to call again and wait in the queue.
Phones are always busy, no appointments available majority of the time unless you try and book online if any appointments are available or try and speak to the receptionist at the surgery who is able to pre book a call back. Receptionists provide you with incorrect information and when book asthma assessments tend to book it with the wrong professional, which can be very frustrating as you have to take time of work and rebook the appointment. Over 9 weeks pregnant and still not been referred to a midwife despite having tried for the past 2 weeks by speaking to 2 different GPs on the phone and visited a doctor in the surgery who wasn't a gp of Laurie Pike which as a patient I wouldn't have known while booking but still he was unable to refer me. The GP I spoke to on the phone the other day was meant to give me a call back the next day which I never received and a secretary was suppose to give me a call back also regarding my midwife appointment which never happened either. I've had a very bad experience with this surgery and feel very stressed out and worried as I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to have an appointment with a midwife and feel very upset. Stress and worries for a pregnant woman are the last things she needs but duty of care doesn't seem to apply to this surgery!!
It’s very hard to get an appointment.
The GP didn't recall me when they received the result of reports from the hospital, unless the I called them back.
They don’t give the right support and they are not serious about my health issues, as I have had one of my kidney's removed and I am having a pain on my stomach and legs but they did not provide right treatment for that.
