"Easy to get appointments"

Easy to get an appointment if you phone at the right time. They give you same day ones. When we went in they agreed to refer him straight away. It's been an ongoing things so they referred straight away.

Good. I'm able to get appointments reasonably well. I know it's difficult for most people but I find the service works easily for me and my needs.

"I can book by calling"

I find them good. I don't have to book online, I can call them, we have a choice which is good. It's also wonderful to have a face to face appointment with the GP. The receptionists are very helpful and communication is very good.

"Never get an appointment"

I can never get an appointment. You wait for an hour on the phone but lucky if you manage to get an appointment.

"New surgery is efficient and I can see my GP"

I recently moved from one GP surgery to another due to the very poor service I was receiving. After 30+ years with them this was not an easy decision to take. What a difference! The new surgery is efficient, I can actually see a GP when I need to, and they have diagnosed a long standing health issue that the last surgery denied I had.

"Incorrect appointment information"

Their website needs updating. It says 'Evening and Weekend Appointments Now Available, Along with our usual opening hours, we offer our patients extended access appointments at evenings and weekends. These are available at our local SDS MyHealthcare Hubs. To book an extended access appointment, please speak to one of our receptionists.' The receptionist I spoke to was unaware of this, implied I had got it wrong, and then told me they didn't do extended appointments.

"Very accessible"

They're very good. Responsive to me as a carer. Adaptable staff as they take into account that I work and let me go in earlier than official opening times. Waiting time is okay. The reception is very efficient. If I ask, I can see the same doctor every time and I have a menopause specialist which I appreciate.

"I am happy when I see a GP"

I am happy with them. Just getting an appointment takes so long. You have to wait for weeks to see a doctor. I am happy when I finally get to see them.

"Reception team don't listen"

Very difficult to get an appointment. Reception team just don't listen to you and act as they are GPs.

"They see my son regulalry"

I had a follow up appointment with the GP due to being concerned with my 2 and half year old. The hospital send letters to the GP to be seen regularly. I feel they are really slow at getting the appointments sorted and I have to chase them to get son referred on.

If ever I'm poorly, I can generally get an appointment when needed, but I've not had to use them much. I do see my midwife there too.

"They are quite good"

They are quite good, depends which time you ring. If you call at 8:30am you can get through and they give you an appointment same day. Ring any other time it’s just a pain.

"total lack of adoption of IT solutions"

having to physically request test results when they can be easily emailed out. No text reminders for appointments.

We do not email confidential information to non-Nhs Email addresses.

"1 month wait for appointment"

I was referred from the GP to the hospital. It's taken around 4/5 weeks, better to be quicker. The surgery itself is not good. I had to wait 1 month for a telephone consultation. If you want a face to face appointment you have to go into the surgery and book it, You then have to tell the receptionist all your information, it feels like an interrogation.

You are able to book a face to face appointment without attending the Surgery. You can book one via the telephone. The Receptionist may ask for a brief reason to inform the GP and direct appointments to the appropriate person. If you do not want to say, then that is respected. "Long time to get an appointment"

Nice when you get there, Long time to get an appointment. Got cut off after waiting 20 minutes then it took 25 minutes to get through again. 50% of the time you get an appointment. It’s not receptionist fault, they are trying their best.

We use to have them when the kids care little. Really good can get appointments, no long waits on the phone.

"Useless"

I've had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment for a doctor to send some paperwork. The doctors have since refused to sign this medical paperwork. They're useless.

"Everything is on the appointment"

GP referral to appointment took 5 months. I understand why it’s taken that time. They are really bad. Everything is on the appointment, hard to get an appointment. Make you ring before 9AM to get an appointment it doesn’t work.

"They are all lovely"

They are all lovely. One Dr is my favourite. She is very kind. I get the help that I need. Not as easy as it used to be getting appointments because of Covid. Luckily I have had face to face but one appointment has been over the phone.

"Appointment 2-3 weeks after phoning for one"

It's not very good. I got an appointment 2-3 weeks after making the initial phone call and the appointment was not face to face. They told me to send them images of my issue. After I sent these, I found them to be brilliant as they referred me to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

"Struggled get appointment"

Phoned at the times they offer and the waiting time on the phone can be 30 mins and by the time they answer all appointments have gone. Done this 4 times now. Have complained to the surgery.
Ended up coming to the womens hospital to get support and ended up having scan.

A well organized, helpful practice. Fairly long wait for planned appointments currently, but you will always be seen if urgent.

"The standard of service has deteriorated"

The standard of service has deteriorated considerably. The practice was always well run and responsive. Now it seems to have taken Covid as an opportunity to reduce the service it provides to its patients. The contract between the doctor and the individual is broken. The receptionists don't appear to be coordinated. Whilst they have been kind and continue to be so as individuals, they have become gatekeepers from hell. I organised a telephone appointment for my sister and called to ensure that they had the correct number, no call, and no follow-up. To access the service one has to join a rat race to see who can get to the phone at 8:30 am to get a slot in the day. It's the best example of provider capture, how does the ordinary person get a say into how these public-paid services provided by private GP businesses are delivered?

I could book an appointment directly every time I needed. And I could get the phone called in for the emergency appointment as well. If People want to book an appointment to see a doctor, they have to wait for 3 weeks or even longer.

Service is good if you need an emergency app but it's a 2,3 week wait for non emergency which I think is too long.

"Courteous, efficient and thorough"

I have visited the GP and practice nurse. I have had blood tests and my flu and other vaccines there. I have a repeat prescription through the pharmacy on site. The receptionists are polite and helpful, appointments are usually on time. The doctors are courteous, efficient and thorough.

"No online booking facility"

Excellent surgery but sppinsystem is horrendous. No online booking facility so have to call up at 8.30am....online plus triage online would bring this surgery into the 21st century

"Only getting 1 ventolin inhaler"

I always got 3 Ventolin's on one prescription and suddenly the last 2 times I only got 1 for £9.50. I travel abroad a lot so buy them abroad for 2 euros, also only having 1 means if I loose it I could be in severe danger. My last review was with Nurse during lockdown.

"GP listens to me and understands my condition"

GP listens to me and understands my medical condition. Able to recognise when I am unwell and makes fast referrals to specialist support. GP prescribed new asthma medication to me and then called me to make sure the medication was working and I am OK. Fast appointment system and online system allows me to organise and get repeat medication quickly. Administration is very good. Medical tests are handled well and results given quickly.

"Good surgery/ difficult to get appointment"

My GP surgery is very busy but they always treat me with respect. It is difficult to get a routine appointment but if you need an emergency appointment then they will try their best to fit you in and if they can’t, they link you to walk-in partnership with another GP surgery.

"Needed more help"

I went to see my GP in March 2017 as I had a lot of pain in my stomach. I then found out that I have gallstones & kidney stones and I need an operation. I still haven’t had the operation as I am really afraid of going ahead with it. Through my other experiences in hospitals. I have witnessed that people are not always dealt with dignity, and I want to be reassured that this wasn’t be the case when I have my operation. I have also got a real phobia of the operation – fear of dying. It’s so bad I had to cancel the operation once already. On two other occasions I have had to cancel as I haven’t had anyone to look after my caring responsibilities. I went to see my GP to talk to them about my fear & phobia, but I felt very childish doing so. They just referred me to Mind mental health support, but even that has a really long waiting time. It is not really what I want. I just want to talk to the hospital to get them to reassure me that I will be fine. Right now I am in limbo not knowing what to do, and I am in lot of pain.

Have you spoken to the Consultant's secretary about your fears? The hospital may be able to provide a further appointment to discuss the procedure and your concerns or do so at your pre-op appointment.

"unable to book routine appointments"

Phone call today to myself I was told Dr has asked for you to book in to see him and the next available appointment is 31st August .
Me “ I can’t do that date but I could do 5th or 6th September “
Receptionist “ so sorry i can’t book that far in advanced “

This is an ongoing issue where by patients are unable to book routine planned appointments and are told to phone in the morning to get an urgent appointment if you wish to be seen sooner .
My problem is not urgent I can wait I don’t want to take an urgent slot . I work and have three children I am busy I would lIke to be able to have a bit of planning around my appointments where possible.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the appointment booking system. I am unable to respond directly to you as the comment is left anonymously.
Patients are usually able to pre book appointments up 4 weeks ahead with the Doctor. We do not pre book later than this as in previous times, when it was 6 weeks , it increased the DNA (did not attend) rate as patients forgot appointments too far ahead.
The Urgent clinics are for patients who need to be seen on the day or who have a problem that cannot wait until the next routine appointment. We also offer on day and pre bookable appointments at our local hub, Riverbrook, which is open 7 days a week.

Kingsfield medical centre is good. Should offer more flexible appointments for working people and families.

I am pleased that you have rated your care as good.
With regards to more flexible appointments, we are attached to 4 local surgery hubs, where we can offer patients late night and weekend appointments at these local hubs. These appointments can be with a GP, nurse or HCA.
When our clinics are full each day, we then utilise appointments at the local hubs for patients to attend. Please see our Practice website for more information on our appointment system.

"GP rude/abrupt"

GP rude/abrupt - dismissive of the health issues brought to them - impatient to get rid of me. Ignored my views on health issues. Cleanliness is good, treatment and waiting times are not good, quality of care and staff attitudes are poor.
