"They look after us"
Very good for us. They test my bloods regularly for thyroid and they look after us as a family.
Very good for us. They test my bloods regularly for thyroid and they look after us as a family.
I can book online or call them. Good at getting appointments. Reception are good. The lady GP is very good, very professional. I'm very happy with them.
Once you tell them that you're pregnant they give you good treatment. I get appointments quicker too. They did however tell me to take aspirin but that isn't correct when pregnant.
They're good for my son who has special needs, I can get appointments no problem at all.
They're okay. Only one of the doctors I get on really well with as he explains everything well and got a referral made when other doctors didn't help me.
It's hard to get appointments with the doctor even though I'm pregnant and in pain. They offer me an appointment for 12 weeks time. They tell me to go to the hospital.
You have to call to make an appointment and they will offer you a phone appointment or if you are sick then an in person appointment. When you call you are waiting for ages. If you want to see a specific doctor then you often have to wait for two weeks. You can make appointments online but the process is too long. I did book my flu jab online and that was much easier and quicker.
She is really good when I see the COPD nurse. Although it's a nightmare getting an appointment. You have to be on your last legs to get one. You get telephone appointments but but harder to see someone face to face. You're talking a two week wait.
I like going to the GP, but they can take a while. Four months ago I went to the GP for an appointment and it didn't take as long but it still wan not quick.
They're very good. They give me tea and cake at flu vaccines. They involve the patients and encourage them to discuss their long term conditions. Excellent.
I had an appointment for stress and anxiety. The GP was really friendly. The appointments was rescheduled as the GP was sick so I had to wait two extra weeks. The waiting time was delayed when I was there too and I have not had any follow up.
Good and easy to get an appointment.
Lost multiple of my tests last year, rude staff when you are trying to chase up those lost tests. Very difficult on reception.
My medical records from 2011 to 2019 were not been passed on to my new GP, so every time I see a different GP or hospital team I have to go through my medical history for those years. My current GP practice has repeatedly asked for the records to be sent by my previous practice in London but has had no response.
I love them. They're so helpful and nice, all the doctors. I'm a regular there because I get so sick. They are always on hand to help me.
The best Drs ever. All the staff are so helpful except the receptionists.
They have always been really good, really helpful. They will see both me and my son as and when we need. They're always happy to help and get referrals sorted. Excellent.
You have to wait a long time on the phone. I called and I was 19 in the queue and by the time I got though there were no appointments. They don't have call back. The place is clean though and the staff are friendly.
Very very bad. No appointments available. It took me too long to get into the women's due to Karis not sorting my appointments until I was 23 weeks pregnant. In the end I called them myself to arrange an appointment with them.
The GPs are okay, very kind and helpful. Appointment booking is very challenging.
Incredibly appallingly bad, practice manager needs removing. Doesn't acknowledge or address patient concerns or complaints, just ignores. Unacceptable treatment. Zero understanding, empathy, compassion for a primary care service provider from her.
Reception staff really do need customer service skills training & basic communication skills, the manner in which they speak/treat you is very, very poor.
General service from Drs isn't great either, tell you things you can teach yourself on google & won't refer you despite repeated requests for months on end, don't call when they say they would. You're just a number here.
Always waiting longer than scheduled time of appointment, with longest being over an hour after my scheduled appointment time due to previous patient, to be given 5 mins & asked to rebook for other concerns as no time to address them... just poor! given I’d patiently waited, to be treated like this, I can only attend the surgery with 1 issue at a time, basically if a previous patient runs over by over an hour then that’s just tough.
You are just a number no real patient care .
Drs don't even look at your notes after they inform you to rebook an appointment & talk to you like don't know the purpose of your visit or call to you.
I've also experienced what I can only describe as unprofessional /Underhanded practice from a Dr here, which I should have reported but I didn't realise/know what was happening at the time, realised later it wasn't in my best interest & their gain. It affected my healthcare & treatment.
The best Dr I ever saw at this practice was a locum. She was absolutely brilliant & I was so, so sorry she left. She was amazing, caring, listening, emphasising & really getting you the treatment & care that every patient deserves.
I appreciate NHS is stretched & patients are sadly just numbers. However, in my experience this surgery lacks genuine primary patient care & genuinely needs investigating & brought to the attention of CQC.
A good service, a good surgery. The GP referred me on to hospital. They were a little late giving me an initial appointment as when you are in pain you want to get seen quickly, that took longer than I would have liked. They are a good service however.
If you don't have any disabilities like myself then it is fine. I have found it good.
Depending on who you meet getting an appointment is very difficult, especially since covid.
They are very very good. The doctor is very good and helpful. They are respectful.
The GP referred my son to the Children's for specialist ENT treatment.
My GP is very helpful and listens to me.
I have been with them for 6 months. Very helpful staff and the reception always provide the best possible support and help.
Sometimes it takes some time to get an appointment. When there they are really great. They are probably the best doctor's we have ever had. I phoned them one day for my child when they weren't sleeping and they responded well.
I am very happy with the service provided. Excellent GP.
Excellent. The GPs are excellent. Some receptionists listen, some don't.
The GP is very good. It's easy to get a GP appointment. Sometimes you get a same day appointment. I go for my children's vaccines.
Very difficult to get an appointment. Reception staff are rude and unhelpful. GP's are good and provide excellent care.
30 years I have been registered and they are the best. I get appointments even when there are none. They are so good. They are also really good at referrals to hospital. They will send you confirmation that they have sent a referral. They have good facilities. They do alternative therapies like acupuncture and refer you to them as well. They refer you to other services and have good nurse therapies.
They are okay. We can get appointments when needed. They need more staff. We have to wait for long long time when in for an appointment.
I called the GP and they said to call NHS 111 when I had an accident. They are very good. I go about three times a year for my diabetes check and check up on my neurological issue. They're very good.
I was a patient with them for 10 years. They are really very good.
It is very good. I will give them 5 stars.
They're okay. I don't really have any issues with them. I get an appointment when I need them. Very good.
They're good. I can go and get appointments, everything is done and they make appointments over the phone. They're actually good.
I've had a few issues that where quite serious. I've made contact several times with the practice manager and had no response. They never responded back to any of my complaints at all.
The experience is better and communication is very good.
They are good, no issues. Just need to get back in contact with them for a follow up appointment.
Really good service.
All good, good availability of appointments and I can see the same doctor. I have no issues with them and I am very happy with them.
It's a good GP practice. Never have to wait long for an appointment and all doctors we have seen have been really good.
I see the community midwife there, there are no long waits there it is good. Sometimes it is very easy to get an appointment but sometimes it is not, it depends on the doctor.
They're good. I see the midwife there. I don't have any problems getting appointments either. The staff are good, they're nice.
I rung up and explained the problem. I went into my surgery and spoke to the receptionist and she said someone would call back. A paramedic called me back just after I'd left the surgery and told me to come back, they looked at me and then got a doctor to look at me too and then they said I needed to be referred to a hospital, which took 8 days.
Very difficult to get a appointment. You can wait a couple of weeks for an emergency appointment. The doctor is very helpful to me and I like to see a particular doctor and always get the appointment for that particular doctor.
They are brilliant. Can get appointments, can get through to reception. They are offering telephone conversations with face to face if needed and I can access them online, If I need an appointment.
Happy with them, can get appointments. Sometimes can be 10 or 11 in the queue and sometimes number 1. I have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment.
Amazing, best doctors I've ever been to. They're really responsive and I can get appointments easily.
I googled and registered with my local practice. Managed to get appointments. I can get face to face appointments as well as speaking to them on the phone.
Quite satisfied & happy with the service provided.
Very difficult to get in touch with GP’s, must have tried 1000 times on phone.
Appointments are available but the test results are always late and we have to chase it up.
Brilliant, been with them since 1995. It’s a good surgery, doctors are fine able to get appointments. They are pretty all right.
Great experience. Able to get appointments. I phone for an appointment in the morning and I'm guaranteed to be seen the same day.
They're alright. Recently got new doctors in making it different to see the GP. But getting better to see face to face. Older GP's want to see patients face to face, but the younger ones prefer doing it over the phone.
I can’t get face to face appointments. All they give me is phone appointments and for that they don’t call me and most of the time I have to chase them.
Told him about my problems he was to quick to talk trying to get rid of me also looked very angry was disappointment. It was about general womens problems but dont think he understood and feel depointed that he flogged me off.
I am satisfied by the care provided.
I have issues with my stomach by over one year and half and in all this time they haven’t been able to set an appointment to the hospital so I can find out exactly what’s wrong.Last time when I’ve called the doctor to prescribe me the medication (which I’m not sure why I’m taking it since nobody knows what’s wrong with me) he forgot to do it (and I’m sure that he forgot to make me an appointment to the hospital since 4 months already passed since I’ve asked him, again,to make me an appointment and I didn’t received any answer )and I had to waste again the next day one hour at the queue on the phone a rude receptionist answered and set an appointment with the GP only to remind him about my prescription.I’m more than disappointed and they are just playing with my health and I’m not sure if it’s racism because they do everything in their power to make me not to disturb them with my health issues!
Unable to get an appointment for 10 days even when saying I was having a mental health crisis.
During the pandemic my care has remained excellent been supported throughout lockdown by gp spiritual guidance nurses h.c.a
Very happy with them.
Was referred medication for my mental health, told to read books and by harder with selfcare.
Amazing service, doctors are very helpful.
Unhelpful staff and very difficult to get an appointment.
Very good and supportive.
Getting an appointment is still difficult. You have to phone and be triaged and they recently changed the time to call for a GP to call back without letting patients know so my husband was nearly denied medical treatment. He had a serious case of cellulitis which has resulted in a 7 day hospital stay. Fortunately, he was asked to send photographs and the GP, on seeing him, sent him straight to hospital. Someone less persistent in their request may have ended up very ill. The reception staff are not always helpful and rarely friendly. No matter how busy they are, it costs nothing to smile down the phone and be nice.
Hard to get a face to face appointment
The receptionists are extremely rude, they do not understand the concept of professionalism nor care. A kind word and manners go a long way especially when working with patience who are suffering due to illness which in turn affects mental health. The last thing a sick individual needs is to be faced with a receptionist who has no manners, no sympathy and is unprofessional. This clinic has a lot of potential if it weren't for the current staff. It's a shame as this was not the case some years ago where reception staff were a lot nicer.
Also there is a lot of Christian literature scattered across the clinic. This is extremely offensive and unprofessional to people who follow other faiths. Not sure what the link between Christianity and the NHS could be?
The best GP practice . Extremely high care and professional standards. Excellent customer service from reception first point of call. GP calls back within the hour . Any medication needed gets assessed and sent to pharmacy straight away.
During the pandemic I have needed to consult the doctor, and have found it simple and effective to book a phone appointment/receive a call back from the GP. As I have an ongoing relationship with my doctor, it was easy to speak to her, and it was more convenient to speak remotely as well as reducing my anxiety of going into a shared indoor space.
Great GP whenever I have needed support and appointments
It's always been excellent. But the recent introduction of telephone triage has worked really well for me/ us. Appointments happen quickly. Referrals are made almost immediately. It works so much better
It's very good great doctor are very helpful and friendly
Efficient service. Option to have video consultations when face to face isn't necessary. My husband has complex medical conditions and they are usually good at keeping him monitored. They did fail to send him for a blood test when asked to by a respiratory consultant who had done a general blood profile. This was not picked up for almost a year and could been an indicator of cancer. Fortunately it wasn't. But apart from that they are usually good.
I had an appointment for a telephone call from one of the Doctors today and the senior Doctor rang me himself to see if he could help as he was going through phone calls that needed to be made. I can't speak too highly of this practice which we have been with for almost 43 years and we have never had any complaints.
During the pandemic I have been able to continue with routine regular blood tests - as a result of one in August I was contacted within 2 working days and given a full examination the same day, following which I was referred to a specialist and am already well into treatment for Protaste Cancer - thank you Karis - excellent service by all staff as ever!
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: I get prescriptions via patient access. If I have a problem getting this I can phone my surgery (Karis Medical Centre)
Great doctors that listen, but getting an appointment is really hard. It's either an emergency or it's two weeks - which is far from ideal. Sometimes the clearly over-stressed receptionists can be pretty blunt which isn't great, but is understandable given the amount of patients and lack of appointments. Still, they are the best surgery I've been to in the city.
They are willing to listen and take time
Doctors and nurses are very helpful and can speak other languages as well which is very helpful for patients and their families.
They listen to you and explain everything very well, which is excellent from patients point of view.
Experience at Karis Medical centre was very helpful doctors were available to give health checks and write out prescription and offer advice on surgery modern health, sexual health and pregnancy and hospital referrals
The doctors and staff are all excellent. The appointment system works. I cannot speak highly enough of this practice
There is a long waiting time to see a GP e.g. 10- 14 days. I use patient access website to book appointments and for my partner who is deaf, however you cannot book a BSL interpreter online. I would now have to ring the GP center to book an appointment and they automatically book an interpreter. But it is difficult ringing reception as they are not deaf aware, deaf awareness training is essential fro them.
