"I phoned at 10.30am"
I pressed option 3 to enquire about my prescription for compression garments and also why I received a delivery from the pharmacy for a dermol lotion I received that I never requested nor was prescribed by any GP. I was No.3 in the queue eventually 2 hours and 40 minutes later the phone was answered only to be cut off because they couldn’t hear me. I tried again then it went back to answer phone where I was No. 5 in the queue. I think 2 and a half hours is much too long to be No.3 in the queue.
"Don't like the online form"
I can get through but I don't like the online form I have to fill in. When you are ill it's the last thing you want to do. You have to select who you need to see and key words to get an appointment and you don't even get one on the same day. I feel like it's working against the elderly.
"A poor GP service"
I have been going with the same issue but they don't take me seriously so I end up having to go to A&E. The service is poor.
"Terrible"
Receptionist awful .never any appointments when I needed staples removed as requested by my consultant for 2weeks after surgery I was told by receptionist I couldn’t have appointment for 4 weeks when I pointed out this was a request from consultant not me and I informed them they should have received a letter from consultant with this request funny enough they suddenly found I could have appointment on the day consultant requested for my staple removal .
"I can't ask for more"
Brilliant, I can get appointments pretty quickly and easily. Especially for the little one. Even for myself its not a bother at all. The staff communicate well and they treat my son well. I can't ask for more really.
"Inaccessible when trying to get appointments"
They're okay but it's frustrating before you used to call and now you have to go online to get appointments. It's a barrier for my husband as he wont go online to book. What if some people can't read or use technology, or have language difficulties. I had to sort my husbands prostate check or he wouldn't have been able to do it.
"Too slow to issue repeat prescriptions"
I am a type 1 diabetic, reliant on insulin and Abbott Freestyle 2+ sensors. Over the last 6 months it has become increasingly difficult to obtain repeat prescriptions. First, they stopped using the NHS app, forcing patients to send email requests. Now, they are often taking more than a week to issue a prescription, and then it is often short of items. I request all my repeats in good time but, not having had the sensors I had requested more than a week ago, I had to get an emergency prescription from the pharmacy this morning after my last sensor failed 6 days early.
"Appointment availability is good"
I recently moved to this practice. The staff are very helpful and the appointment availability is good.
"Won't give me the medication I want."
I'm a platinum patient but they won't prescribe the medication I want for my illness when I ask for it. They say they can't get it but my friend has the exact same one so not sure why they don't want to give it to me.
"Very helpful staff"
Reception team, GPs and nurses all very helpful.
"1 check up in 20 years."
What is a GP. We now have to fill in a form online to even try to book an appointment. There are many elderly people who cannot do this unaided. They can pick up the phone and speak to a human. My husband was told by the cardiac rehab nurse having had a stent fitted that he needed to see his GP about upping medication, so he went in to make the appointment as instructed by the nurse only to be told, you can't. You have to book online and we have nothing available. They are advertising for new patients and they are not seeing the ones they have. As a coeliac, I am supposed to have an annual MOT to check vitamin levels etc, I have had one in 20 years and I had to push for that by quoting government guidelines.
"The nurse comes out to take bloods."
I take my dad there once every 3 months and they are quite good. They send the nurse out to take bloods for him which is good too.
"They have been okay"
I don't use them that often as I don't need to. I have most of my care at the hospital. They have been okay the times I have used them.
"Very rude"
I've just lost my dad and needed me that was not on my app
"Can't get appointments, can't get through."
Nightmare. Lovely people but can't get an appointment. Can't get through, they don't answer. They tell you to call back the next day and see if there are anymore appointments. Bit daunting because what do I do with the kids when they need an appointment.
"They don’t pick phone"
Can’t get an appointment and they don’t pick phone.
"Very uphill task"
Very difficult to get an appointment. Very uphill task.
"Arranged medication quickly"
They gave me my medication after speaking with NHS 111 and they sorted it very quickly. They're good doctors and arranged medication quickly.
"Nightmare to get an appointment"
Nightmare appointment availability. You end up on hold for over an hour. The receptionists are lovely, but I have genuine concerns for getting an appointment. I have to book annual leave off to be able to get an appointment.
"No show again"
Home visit arranged for my diabetes check again after the first appointment was cancelled by them.
I rang at lunch time as I was told it was a morning appointment. Told they had car trouble and running late but would be coming. Rang again at 4:30pm only to be told they were already back and ran out of time.
This is not the first time this has happened.
"Worst surgery - takes too long"
The worst surgery. I hate them, they're awful. Can't get appointments with them. I call at 8am and I can never get through. I had an issue where I needed a repeat prescription and they couldn't give me my medication without seeing the nurse first, but there wasn't an appointment available. I managed to get an appointment with the doctor and get a medication review but then when I was presented with the medication, it wasn't the correct one I needed and gave me an alternative which was fine. But it takes too long to get things sorted.
"Terrible, can't get through to them"
They're terrible. Can't get through to them and can't make appointments. I can be calling for days. I was really poorly one time and my wife had to call NHS 111 because I couldn't get through to them. They ended up telling me to go to A&E.
"Long waits on phone"
Very difficult to get an appointment long waits on phone.
"Can’t get never get to see a doctor"
Had a heart attack few weeks ago,Not even a phone call to see if I’m ok ,or if any problem with tablets surplied.
"Never any appointment’s"
I rang this drs surgery 5 days last week for there not to be any appointments on any day, I informed the receptionist of the reason behind me calling and it took till day 5 for her to actually inform me I didn’t need to speak to a dr I needed a midwife, 1 week later I’m still waiting to speak to a midwife
"Happy"
It was good, I was happy with the doctor.
"They are good"
They are good on phone and appointments are available.
"Very helpful"
Receptionists are very helpful when you can speak to them.
"Very efficient and professional"
Very efficient and professional GP practice.
"Disgusting. Shameful."
Were do I begin. I still can't txt what I need to say, I'm not sure I can think about it. That horrible male doctor, the one that is the head doctor, is the worse doctor I know .He made me stop taking medication because it was expressed that I was wasting them and he was not happy to pay for me take them. It is do obvious that after the long holiday the doctors have had, back to looking after people, is not what they wont to go back too.
I need to speak to a doctor, I really do. They call you, let it ring for a second, then cut off. The other, female doctor, does that, all of the time. I want my old doctor surgery back. In Walmley . I and not think of them, acting so badly towards their patients. ABS.
"the receptionists talk down to you"
I have been misdiagnosed for over 3 years i found out yesterday, Its impossible to get to see a Dr,i dont know who my Dr is anymore!!, you can never get through on the phone and when you do the receptionists make you feel like an idiot,!!if you have a serious illness or suspect you do go somewhere else. I know the pandemic has made things difficult for surgeries but no one i know is treated this badly anywhere else. It needs looking into.To be civil to people takes the same amount of time as not being civil,i have tried to change my surgery but no where is taking new patients at the moment, but it will be the first thing i do when all this is over.
"Impossible to get an appointment or call."
Receptionist always asks about medical problem & judges if you need an appointment. Very hard to get an appointment. Most days only 1 Dr working. No nurse available most of the time.
"70+ calls to get through to reception"
70+ calls to get through to reception. Can only phone at 8am daily. Never any appointments via phone or web. Rude receptionists.
"Can never get through on phone"
Can never get through on phone - twice I've ended up, calling 111
"No service"
There has been no service.
"Unable to get an appointment"
Unable to get an appointment. Problems with contacting via phone. Very few face to face appts I'm told and surgery has all but closed its doors
"Superb"
I think the way they have organised vaccinations had been superb. Thank you.
"Rude and abrupt reception staff face to face Jockey Road Medical Centre B73"
Rude and abrupt reception staff face to face and on telephone. In this pandemic they are unhelpful, clearly irritated by you pressing option 4 on the phone and insist you call back at 8am or press option 1 for appointments. Face to face experience again was unhelpful, too many silly questions and clearly irritated by my arrival to ask for a urine sample bottle!
"There is no service there anymore Jockey road Sutton Coldfield"
There is no service there anymore. You get sent to another surgery as Jockey Rd does not do face to face
"Poor telephone booking system Jockey Road Medical Centre"
Poor telephone booking system. Can be on the line for nearly an hour and then no appointments left and have to try again the next day and on and on. I was waiting a month to even book a cervical screen.
"Absolutely terrible Jockey Road Medical Centre"
Absolutely terrible, never any appointments, end up either having to go A&E or you get better before and appointment is available so you just have to ride it out. The receptionists treat you like rubbish and talk like you're crap on their shoe.
"takes weeks to get phone appointment Jockey road surgery"
Not been able to seethe dr for over a year, takes weeks to get phone appointment.
"No appointments most of the time Jockey Road surgery"
You can rarely get through by phone. No appointments most of the time. How can a GP examine you over the phone? Often rude receptionists. It was not good before COVID, now it is so bad. Constant errors in repeat prescriptions. Have checked and it's definitely not the pharmacy's fault.
"Always good"
Always good apart from can't get through on phones in morning
"The staff are always helpful and polite"
The staff are always helpful and polite, despite how busy they obviously are. With an ongoing condition, I have found the doctor I have dealt with to be professional and timely.
"The lack of service over the last year"
The lack of service over the last year
"No face to face appointments"
No face to face appointments or routine blood tests throughout the entire pandemic.
"contacting the surgery is so difficult"
I was trying to make appointment for my brother 5 phone calls cut off twice 50minutes to get through. I was advised that it is now a call center and the reality is their was no way of complaining THIS IS NOT A SERVICE IT IS A NIGHTMARE
"Good service and no problem"
Home visits easily arranged, good service and no problem.
"Waiting /Call is too long for Appt"
I find if I call the GP Surgery very early ,I can still be dissatisfied to not have an appointment usually after a very long queuing System!
"Good Staff / difficult to get an appointment"
The nursing staff and GPs at this practice are very good. However, the major problem is getting an appointment with GP. On-Line appointments are very limited and usually about 2 weeks in advance. For an urgent appointment, one is told to phone up on the day at 8am but by 8:05 all the appointments for the day have gone and also one has to wait on phone for 20 minutes before it’s answered. The surgery is now offering limited appointments at weekends, but on Sundays they are in south Birmingham, several miles away.
"Didn't know entitled to interpreter"
I am deaf. Didn't know I could have interpreter as didn't know I was entitled to any lip speaker. Sat left out, communication breakdown, was not aware of support I could have for communication. Better to have had a lip speaker to spoken clearly and slowly so I could lip read person who was talking to me. So I could communicate with so there's need not be any communication barriers as it puts me off from going. Intercom I cannot hear from an intercom or when I'm called as it's really difficult what makes it worse when there's too much noise, it's mentally exhausting when try to listen but miss out of appointments. Makes you feel quite isolated.Very noisy too much noise.
"Receptionists good, overall service poor"
The receptionists are good, but the overall service is poor.
In the Midland Medical Partnership there is about 97 doctors so whenever you go you will not see the same doctor. It is very difficult to set an appointment, you have to call at 8am, but you may not get through. If you want to see a specific doctor the waiting time is weeks and weeks. If you access any doctor it will take 3 weeks. As a result neither myself or my husband use the GP anymore. We try to survive with natural therapies. The appointment time is so short it's impossible to be able to truly discuss the issue.
