"Difficult to access a doctor"
After Covid it has been increasingly difficult to get an appointment to see a doctor. They say they are fully booked but when you go up the waiting area is empty. Now they've got the new online booking system, which I haven't used yet, as its only available while the doctors are open. Why not have it available 24/7 to leave a message that can be triaged in the morning.
"Good doctors"
I have never had problems getting appointments with them in 30 years. They're good doctors.
"They referred us on"
Initially it was okay to get an appointment and they referred on. They're good in general If we have any issues we can contact them.
"The online system makes it easier"
It's easier with the online system for me but I'm not sure it would be easy for everyone. You usually get an appointment within a day or two.
"Usually okay"
They're usually okay. They've changed the system recently which can make it harder depending on how tech savvy you are but I prefer to phone to make an appointment but they won't let you book that way.
"No complaints with the online system."
They have changed to an online system which is good as they see it all the same day and we usually get an appointment. No complaints.
"Difficult to get appointment"
Very rarely get to speak to a doctor
"My toe had to be amputated"
I was given a diabetes tablet which can lead to toe amputation and I was not told about it by the GP. As a consequence after a year I had complications and the toe was amputated.
"Very easy to access"
Accessing it is very easy, you fill out a form and then they advise if you need a telephone or face to face appointment. They get back to you within a couple of hours. It's easier now than the old system.
"Good when I need them"
They're alright, they got me referred for surgery. I don't often use them but when I need them they're very good. Receptions is good too.
"Rude and unhelpful"
It's a challenge to get an appointment and talk to my own GP. Reception staff are very rude and unhelpful.
"Fantatstic"
Fantastic, I don't have any issues.
"A negative experience"
A negative experience. The solution to everything is personal. They avoid referring you to the hospital when there is a serious issue in place. They don't do things the right way for a majority of the doctors.
"Accessing a GP is too much hassle"
You can only apply to speak to a doctor via the Internet. Then they may or may not phone you back at any time in the next 3 days. As someone who works for the NHS I can not have my phone on me whilst at work. So this is useless to me. I have 2 issues I need to see a doctor about, but have been putting it off for months now as it's too much hassle. Also, I am OK with using the Internet, but many older people struggle or simply won't have anything to do with it. These people are ignored and forgotten by the GP surgery.
"Excellent support"
The GPs and nurses listen to my issues and provide excellent support.
"They provide good care"
A very busy surgery but the doctors listen to you and provide very good care all of the time.
"It's a good surgery"
They are good at giving appointments and they registered baby too, really quickly. The doctors that I have seen there have been good. It's a good surgery.
"Not easy to get appointments"
Appointments are not easy to get unless you fill the forms in. You have to tell them you have an illness on them. I think they should also run more tests before the say you have a virus.
"Hard to get appointments."
It's hard to get appointments.
"Their service delivery is a mixed bag."
Sometimes they can be good and sometimes poor. Their service delivery is a mixed bag.
"Appointments by phone."
Most of my appointments have been by phone. No face to face appointments at the moment.
"Very good, no issues."
Very good. I have never had any issues with them. They keep up with my diabetic reviews and I don't struggle to get appointments or getting seen.
"Over 80 calls to get through to the GP"
Terrible. It took over 80 phone calls to get onto a waiting list before your call was even answered by receptionist. I was originally told all the morning appointments had gone until I kicked up a fuss about the amount of attempted phone calls. I told them it was super urgent I saw somebody and in the end was given a 10 minute appointment if I didn’t mind waiting for the doctor to finish his morning clinic. I got to the GPs 30 minutes before my appointment and walked into the waiting room. They say they had a full clinic but I was the only person sitting in there for the full half hour I waited. 4 doctors had appointments that morning and when I arrived 3 of the 4 were drinking behind the screens. So much for the no appointments available.
"I refuse to see one GP there."
It's a bit hit and miss. I refuse to see one doctor there. She was young and very condescending. I told her I was having issues with my hips and she didn't listen. I saw another GP and they referred me onto the Royal Orthopaedic for x-rays on my hips and feet.
"I think they're a very good GP surgery."
Very good surgery. I have never had an issue and they have always been there to help. I just go up and they talk to me and sort me out. You don't get that many places you go to now. I think they're very good.
"You can reach them morning or afternoon."
They're okay. I really like them there. The staff, nurses and GPs are all polite enough. You can call them in the morning or afternoon. Whatever is easiest and they'll always ask me to come in to see them. I don't mind a phone call either as long as I see the nurse or doctor it's fine.
"Staff are ignorant."
Not good. They just ignore me if I need an appointment. For blood tests you have to wait for a few weeks and staff in there are ignorant.
"I can't fault them."
I can't fault them. I've had a fair share of practices and can't fault this one. They're good at giving out appointments. I phoned up this morning and gave us an appointment to accommodate us.
"They are really good"
Quite good. Can't see same GP will just see whoever. Ring at 8:30 get one for morning or ring after 1pm and get one for afternoon. They are really good, feel quite lucky.
"Can’t see the same doctor twice"
Quite difficult to get face to face pre Covid. Coved gave an excuse to not see me. Receptionists book appointments and you can’t see the same doctor twice and lose continuity.
"Very bad, don't give medicine"
They are very bad. I call them I can't get an appointment, they don't give me medicine. They tell me I need to buy it from the pharmacy for my son who has severe disabilities, they just say buy everything from the pharmacy.
"Doctors are good"
Doctors are good but booking an appointment is very difficult. Communication general with reception team is very poor.
"Very good"
Very good and helpful staff. Good information and advice provided.
"They could be a lot better"
I mean they could be a lot better. But everyone is the same at the minute. It’s a struggle to get the appointments or even all of them at the minute. I just want to be able to see my own doctor when I need to see them. I do get the appointment but it’s a faff.
"They are alright"
Depends sometimes can and sometimes can’t. Ring at 8am can get appointments. Ring in afternoon and can get a later appointment. They are alright I can get what I need from them.
"Quite lucky so far"
It's okay, we just moved here a year ago and only been a couple of times, but they're okay. Quite lucky so far in ringing and getting an appointment.
"Sometimes excellent"
Sometimes excellent but on other occasions very difficult to get through to GP.
"They're alright"
They're alright, I can get appointments, they're alright. Used to do appointments over the phone. I got what I needed but it's not the same as seeing someone face to face.
"Happy with service"
Happy with the service, able to get through on the phones and make an appointment. They're quite reasonable.
"Can't get through to them"
Awful job to get through to them. They're okay when I do get through to them.
"Normally ok"
Normally ok. Sometimes a long wait on the phone but it depends. Can usually manage to get appointments, triage first then occasionally see you face to face.
"Really good"
Really good, able to get appointments face to face. Appointments not too long. Waiting on phone for appointments.
"They are good for face to face"
They are good for face to face. Same day appointment for son. Which is great. Telephone first of all and push to be seen face to face, it’s a bit of nightmare.
"No issues"
I haven't had any issues, have to call and they do call backs and see if they can do appointment. You ring at 8:30 or 2PM and they'll give you an appointment. They also priorities under 5's.
"Able to get appointment"
I can phone them to make an appointment for either over the phone or face to face.
"Very good"
Always on time and very good.
"Too much into faceless business"
No complaints. Too much into faceless business. Video call for daughter’s heart condition – can’t see through phone.
"Good advice & support provided"
They were quit helpful during Covid. Good advice & support provided.
"Really good"
Really good but can’t get appointments.
"Positive experience"
I can pass through the receptionist and my appointment. No issues at all. First I didn't have a good experience but since my sister has complained they improved their services to us.
"I am very happy & pleased"
I am very happy & pleased by the service provided. The doctor is always available and listens to me and explains everything very well.
"Male 64"
What is the point
"Terrible"
I don't know how they can diagnose you over the phone with a server chest infection when they haven't even seen you and have no interest in seeing you just prescripe you with antibiotics and thats it. No help what so ever
"Treatment for depression Non-existent"
Ongoing treatment for long-term depression and mental health issues is non-existent.
"No face to face appointment"
I tried on several occasions to get my 90yr old mother an appointment on to be informed there are no face to face appointments. The Dr will call you/Mother. The Dr called and advised my Mother to take 2 paracetamol tablets with water. Mom deteriorated her BP 199. I managed to get her to see a Dr at Katie Road Selly Oak where she was seen by Dr who examined my Mother and prescribed BP tablets and gastric tablets. He also took a water sample and examined her abdomen. The Dr was shocked that Mom could not get a face to face appointment with her own GP Thanks to the Dr of Katie Road, there is an improvement in Moms condition.
"Terrible"
Terrible, receptionist rule the roost and doctors are not attending the surgery except on a rotating basid
"Not everyone is computer literate"
Can not phone up for an appointment in advance, you need to phone at a set time, wait in a queue as everyone has to ring at the same time, and cross your fingers, or do everything on line which doesn't work very well. They seem to forget not everyone is computer literate. There is a message when you ring warning you not to be rude to the receptionist, but in my experience the receptionist is the one who needs the warning about their attitude. Phone appointments only, which is disappointing, also you are not given a time or even an approximate time for the doctor to phone you, so you are left unable to do anything all day in case you miss the call.
"Tried to get a letter for travel"
Tried to get a letter for travel from the GP, receptionist would not let me speak to anyone, was just told to do a video chat but do not have that facility
"This practice is abysmal"
Since the pandemic began the service offered by this practice is abysmal
"Good"
Good
"Good service Jiggons Lane medical centre"
I have been a patient since surgery opened and have had nothing but good service fron doctors nurses and receptionists.
"Cannot fault the service Jiggins Lane Medical practice"
Cannot fault the service I have received over the last 15 years, 90% of the time I have seen my preferred Dr. My concerns with my health issues both physical and mental have always been listened to and advice/support and further investigation always done promptly.
"The medical staff are very helpful"
The medical staff are very helpful. Some of the front door receptionists need an update training on how to be polite to patients on the phone and face to face.
"Most of the time really good"
most of the time really good patient service. There is one doctor there i would not recommend her bedside manner is really abrupt and she rarely knows what the patients past medical history is. Ie:- prescribing medication they shouldn't have. If it wasn't for the fact i said have you read his case history my husband would have been prescribed medication he shouldn't have.
"Any time phone back"
Good usually, but during Covid you could only get an appointment by an "any time" phone back which means you have to take a whole day off work even if you are not ill but just need a routine service such as a meds review.
