"My mother’s respite stay"
My experience was one to remember. My mother has a diagnosis of dementia and i was due to go away on holiday.I was recommended Hollywood from a friend who’s mom was currently residing at the home. Care homes as you all know do not get good press. However Bringing my mom to stay at Hollywood was the best thing I did. Hollywood is a very personal home from home , the deco was simulating and there was lots planned and events ongoing . Mom joined in with a group activity of play your cards right which she very much enjoyed. The staff in the home were very caring to the patients in the home . Before mom was admitted I had long conversations with the Manager of the home who explained processes I could take to ensure an easy transition for mom which helped as I was worried about taking her to a home , this made my time away very special as I hadn’t been away for 7 years i honestly felt relaxed and reassured mom would be looked after and cared for in my absence . I even received a mid week text message from the manager informing me mom was settled had her hair and Nails done in the home and was socialising with other patients which was a nice touch . I will definitely be booking mom in again . The Manager informed me that he offers day care which I feel would be

My mother who is a resident is a very fussy eater the staff will try to provide her with various choices of food to tempt her

When Mum had a hospital appointment staff arrived at work early to prepare her and one even offered to go with her. I have learned that such willingness is routine at Hollywood and instils valuable confidence.
