"Easy to make appointments"

I have just registered with them. I just need to go in to complete the registration. It's easy to make appointments and contact them.

"Great care and treatment for elderly"

My GP is one that God created for elderly people. He explains everything and asks how you are and about your medication. He always finds time for me even when he is busy. I was having a lot of headaches and the GP sent me to City Hospital who wanted to start me on steroids as there is a main artery in my head causing issues, but needed some blood tests done. The GP did these quickly and I am now having steroids. I saw my GP last week as my face was swelling and he said that he will reduce the dosage. The steroids are helping and my headaches have reduced.

"Terrible reception and patient care"

They are not helpful. Don't bother going to them. The reception is terrible - the line is always busy so when you call they do not answer. I have spent over 40 minutes waiting on the phone to speak to reception before. It is a waste of time and I am not impressed. There is an online option to book appointments but I find it difficult as I am too old and I also find it too impersonal. I have never actually seen my doctor. I used to have a check up every 6 months but the practice nurse left after being treated badly by the practice. One doctor did come out to see my wife, but it took 3 or 4 weeks to get someone out. The doctors at the practice seem to swap and change and there is a high staff turnover. The practice has at least 3 surgeries so they must be spread thin. I thought the previous doctor at the practice was good, however, it turns out that he prescribed me diabetes medication when I am actually not diabetic and so for years I was taking medication unnecessarily. Apparently this was due to the doctor mixing his patients up. There are so many bureaucratic barriers and the manager deals with everything. My wife changed to a local GP and it is similar problems there with having to call before 8:30 am and not being able to get through or book appointments.

"Great experience"

Admin helped me with get my prescription sorted and the phone lines weren’t jammed for hours and all staff have been lovely. Doctor organising my repeat was really nice, so far am really happy I joined the practice.

"The experience was terrible."

I was very disappointed with my recent appointment. The experience was far from patient-centred care. I was not given the opportunity to fully explain why I was there; I was interrupted several times and unable to finish my sentences.

I requested a blood test but was never informed what would be checked. This is a basic right, and patients should always be given clear information about their treatment.

There was no compassion shown during the consultation. I was stressed and worried about my health but did not feel supported or understood.

I left the appointment feeling dismissed, anxious, and unheard, which is unacceptable.

"Delay on medical summary"

Two weeks on still waiting for my medical summary my taxi badge is about to expire I urgently need the later, instead of printing out the later, just wasting of time. Very weak customer service skill.

"Leave this practice if you value your health"

Shocking! So difficult to get an appointment. Rude reception staff and they simply don’t care. They missed my health condition. I raised concerns with the CQC and they rated the practice as good. It says it all really. Read the google and healthwatch reviews. This was once a good practice but since a previous Dr left, it’s gone downhill. I left this practice as I was genuinely worried they would miss something. Some of the reception staff do not treat patients with respect or dignity.

"Give good advice"

They took a long time to register me. But once I was they were fine. They give good advice and I can get appointments. They told me to use 111 whilst I was waiting.

"I had an issue with medications, admin rudeness"

Unbelievable, you call 8:00 am and at 8:29 no more appointments, Someone told me to call 111. I thought they ignored me and my condition.

"Absolutely a sham"

Practitioners leave and their patients are not notified and their care is not followed on or through.
Important information given to them is not recorded on the system.
Medical notes are sent to wrong hospitals and doctors.
The main Dr is absolutely rubbish and totally dismissive. I see him walking around with a tea cup more than I see him with patients.
Follow up calls are never made.
They will prescribe your meds way past your medication review date, no problem.
If I could have rated them 0 stars and less I would have.
Absolute disgrace. They genuinely do not care.

"They could be better"

The centre could be better. My child had a skin rash so I called and they asked me to send pictures and then prescribed medication. The doctor is good and when pregnant I was well taken care of. They need to give more appointments out for adults not just the children.

"It's hard to get appointments."

I always have different doctors. Sometimes it's good, sometimes bad. It's hard to get an appointment. It's a 2 hour wait on the phones to get through.

"Bit of struggle sometimes"

Bit of struggle sometimes, have to call at 8am in the morning, long queue and can’t get through to them. When I do get through to them they are helpful with some of the things that I asked them about. Bit of a wait for CBT therapy. Waited 6 to 8 months but when I did get the help it was helpful.

"Hard to get face to face appointment"

Just get phone calls appointment wise. It's a struggle to see them face to face. They deal with my diabetes but it's hard to get a face to face appointment.

"They have too many patients"

Sometimes get appointment and sometimes don’t. start calling at 8am and wait a long time but they didn’t answer. They have too many patients. I give up with those people. Went to the GP for mental health issues and they prescribed me medication but I would like to do counselling. They said they would refer me on but they have not done anything yet.

"Explain symptoms and they cut you off"

Impossible to get an appointment. I've seen a lot of staff come and go. When you have an appointment, you have to wait an hour to see the GP. It seems like it's the norm. You'll explain symptoms and they will cut you off and prescribe medication. My daughter was having headaches which I thought was down to her Mental Health. They said it wasn't her Mental Health and that she'd get over it.

"Disappointing"

Long telephone ques and then no appointments. When you say how urgent the support you require is they say call tomorrow or go to a walk in centre. When you attend the practice it is not busy and not an informative environment

"I have had to wait 10 months"

As I am a carer its most important that professionals are on board to assist. During Covid it was particularly difficult for general practitioners to provide services necessary, however it should be possible by now to alleviate some duties by full staffing . Not time spend waiting to get through by phone calls. It has become rather sad for the nation to be told you are in the queue of 21 waiting and then told we have no staff. Also I have had to wait 10 months and still have not seen a specialist for my condition of Arthritis. As you can fully understand for a carer to be unwell and looking after a terminally ill patient, it’s more than difficult. Liaising with other medical providers needs more attention than is presently. It will accomplish far firmer relationship and strengthen the health service.

"Gone down hill with new owners!"

Never enough doctors or nurses, and they have now refused wound care at the practice. Even though the nurse is a specialist in wound care! The new management only care about money they don't care for the patients well being. That's why you are allowed 5 to 10 min appointment times as well.

"1hour on the phone. 2 blunt phone calls less"

I appreciate the stress the GP practice is under but could of had the same conversation with computer. Went through a very impersonal checklist of my symptoms, on both phone calls. Doctor especially very blunt - very personal conversation cut short because I understood almost immediately she didn't want to hear what I had to say, signed off for a week with 'not needing another assessment'. Where was my initial one? I really don't think anyone cares anymore. Maybe if appointments were face 2 face again the practice could see how much the public are struggling too.

"Almost impossible to get an appointment"

It is extremely difficult to get an appointment, even if it is a phone appointment. There aren't many ways to make contact anyway (only one phone number). The advice from the practice is to call for booking appointments at 8am but it is impossible to get through and by 10 am, all appointments are gone and you are asked to call back the next day, no matter how uncomfortable or in pain you are! The suggestion is to go for the walk-in clinic in that case but that usually takes hours of waiting, unless, of course, it's an absolute emergency. So, if you need medical attention from this practice, you generally have to spend a few hours trying to contact them and then a few hours in a walk-in clinic, which is all highly inconvenient if you are working. On top of that, the doctors can sometimes give you the impression that your medical problem is not serious enough. I have even had to go for private options at times, even though I have paid IHS. I would have changed my surgery but there aren't many good options in Birmingham (judging from reviews). Very disappointing!

"Poor"

"Incompetent"

Moved to Birmingham in early July and submitted a registration form. Called every week for several weeks 6 weeks after submitting the form to check if I was registered. Was eventually told in late September that they had possibly lost my form, so I sent another application about 3 weeks ago. Called every week since and told each time that I would be registered by the following Monday - 3 and a half months after first submitting an application I am still not registered. I have repeat prescriptions and my cervical screening is overdue - what am I supposed to do?! Thoroughly incompetent.

Seen by 3 different doctors which was frustrating. Two left during a short time period. Receptionists are very abrupt also! Not very understanding.
