"No problems, I'm happy with them"

No problems and can get appointments online or on the NHS app which I also use for prescriptions too. I'm happy with them. Calling isn't always as easy as I don't like calling at 8:30 in the morning and you can never get through.

"Easy to get an appointment"

Honestly not that bad. I ring at 8am and get an appointment the same or next day. It's easy.

"Referred me quickly"

It's very easy to get a GP appointment. It was this practice that referred me last year to the chest clinic. They got me seen quickly.

"Good new doctor"

They're good. I got an appointment yesterday and it was a new doctor. He was really good. He listened and prescribed me medication which was sent straight to the pharmacy.

"Kind and caring"

I give the doctors and reception 5 stars. They are kind and caring on the phone as they know I'm a technophobe. The NHS is all going digital too, everything online. My GP is excellent.

"Cant get my MRI scan"

I had an operation in another country and I was meant to have an MRI every 3 years but they do not listen. She says there are too many people waiting on the list and that I should take medication and massage the area. That isn't working very well. I need to have it looked at as I am worried.

"Misdiagnosed my daughter several times"

They have misdiagnosed my daughter a number of times. We are planning to change our GP asap. Also getting an appointment is an uphill task.

"Polite and friendly staff"

Polite and friendly staff. Although some changes to the environment have not been in favour of the audience of patients. Overly persistent of promoting vaccinations even though I had said no.

"Never had any issue"

Good, never had any issue. Can wait for some time for appointment but it’s what it’s like everywhere.

"Battle trying to get answers"

Shocking, their care is poor in general. Had several bloods taken there, thy said the results came back as slightly out but symptoms have got progressively worse. I've gone back and asked for medical history notes and it says that bloods were abnormal with the words 'Big Alert' written next to them. He has chronic fatigue and no answers. It's taken 8 months to be given supplements for low vitamin D and Folic levels. It's just been a battle going back and forth trying to get answers.

"Need to see daughter face to face"

I find them difficult because you don't get face to face appointments. You become your own GP and self diagnose. I can try and get ab appointment for my daughter who is non communicative, but she needs to see someone face to face so they can physically examine her because she cannot physically tell me what is happening. So they may see her face to face only sometimes, but it's not good.

"Medical conversion intervention on teen"

This was my childhood surgery, and when I was a teenager, the doctors kept asking me about my interest in sex to the degree I felt uncomfortable. Understandably, they didn't know much about asexuality back then, but they pathologised it despite my being content with my sexuality. They then made it the focus of my treatment for an unrelated condition.
This meant my recovery was based on if my sexuality changed, and they would keep bringing up my sexuality, telling me it was a disorder and insisting I needed to want sex.
I find this incredibly invasive and creepy to do to a child. If these doctors had been trained to understand why conversion intervention is wrong by critically analysing it as a practice and expectation, they would have understood it was harmful and unnecessary to do it to me, even if they didn't know of the sexuality.
Furthermore, none of them ever tried to look up my sexuality, they never tried to refer me to sexuality specialists, they never tried to ask me if I wanted to change it. They stripped my autonomy and kept sexualising my appointments as well as shaming a part of myself I was always happy with.
This trauma has severely harmed my relationship with the NHS and to this day I've never been supported in making a complaint, so I pray this review is accepted so I can finally have a voice and warn people of the harm uneducated and dogmatic doctors can do.
They may no longer be at Hawksley, but as this was never caught, never apologised for, and no training was ever given to avoid it happening in the future, I think people should be wary.

2) After attending university for 1 year and then returning, I found 2 years of medical records disappeared. The response of the GP was to blame me for my congenital illnesses, believing the 2 year gap was my choice and ignoring my concerns. After bringing in proof of this issue, I requested an investigation be done to find out why 1 year of my uni GPs records and 1 year of this family GP records went missing on my return. The practise manager took it as a personal complaint and told me she regretted that I 'felt like' my medical records were missing and closed down the claim, never allowing me to find out what happened.
3) They mixed my medical records up with someone else in my family, placed my repeat prescription I'd already been on for months to my mother's record and wiped it off mine.
4) They claimed my mother's heart attacks were a mental condition until the hospital forced them to have training for her condition.
5) A preemptive differential diagnosis was put on record, and hidden from me for years. This diagnosis contributed to the invalidation of my multisystemic conditions, and meant my rare congenital condition with life-threatening symptoms wasn't diagnosed until I saw someone privately.
6) In their efforts to invalidate my health, and their inability to tell family members apart, they wrote a differential diagnosis on a mother's record which contributed to devaluing the risk of her heart attacks and cancer.
7) This medical neglect harmed my health and caused deterioration & long-term complications in myself and my mom. My mom's terminal illness wasn't diagnosed until late as a result; she died shortly after.
These things have contributed to medical trauma.

"It’s difficult to see a doctor"

It’s difficult to see a doctor. I made over 100 calls this morning and then there’s no appointments left. Sometimes they send you to another doctor who doesn’t know you. They said I can go and see them on Monday but my arm is so painful I’m thinking of going to A&E.

"Services were really good."

During covid having appointments via phone calls and having to send photos is a good way to still engage with patients however I feel it misses alot of valued information you get from face to face appointments. I had to send pictures of my skin condition in and I don't believe the pictures shown enough as its the feel of the skin and the pain on touch which concerns me which the doctor is unable to measure via looking at photos. I don't feel confident that I got the right treatment from that appointment. However the services was really good.

"Easy to get phone consultation Hawkesley medical practice"

I've been able to get phone consultations as needed and to visit the practice as well, find it a lot easier to get in now since the pandemic so new ways must be working well. Others I know are having really poor service from their GPS at different places.

"Linked to another GP practice"

Prior to the pandemic the services that were once offered are no longer there. Also they are linked into another GP practice West Heath Surgery so if there was no appointments they would ask you to go to West Heath which I would find quite difficult, and costly. I don't believe they have taken into account people's age, conditions etc.. whilst using West Heath Surgery as an alternative appointment.
