"A very good service"
Service is very good and is easy to make appointments there.
Service is very good and is easy to make appointments there.
It's hard to get appointments, and when you get one you see different doctors. I don't really mind as long as I see one. The staff and doctors are all very friendly.
Every time I call they're perfect. They do everything right and I have no issues with them at all.
It's all well and good trying to get everyone online but you have to fill in questions and some are nothing to do with anything. In the end you may get an appointment the same day. After answering all the questions.
They're okay but have a turnover of staff. Some staff need more training.
They regularly call and check up on my health. They follow up and all is okay. I have no issues with them or the appointments.
I needed an appointment for an abscess. I phoned the receptionists and they said there were no appointments at all and the GP couldn't see me.
The worst thing is going online and getting an appointment. I just walk in and try but you can't see your own GP at all.
Fairly happy with the service.
Very difficult to get an appointment. The staff are rude and unhelpful too.
A five star GP surgery.
They bought in an anima app of which I have had a very good response. Within 10 minutes they will send you a text. It also flags anything that is deemed an emergency when you fill in the form and they tell you what to do next.
Difficult to get an appointment but it's the challenge everyone in Birmingham has to face.
Excellent support provided by GP after I was diagnosed with cancer.
My partner is with them and she is happy with the service. She can easily get appointments.
It's good when you can get an appointment. You just struggle to get one. They do prioritise children and I don't struggle to get one when its for my 4 year old.
They're hit and miss with getting appointments. When you do see a GP they are very good and you feel listened to. Just getting an appointment can be tricky. All the staff are great.
I registered about 2 months ago and there has been no issues so far. Appointment booking was very easy and the telephone lines are open. The staff members are nice as well.
I rang 3 times and called in once and told no appointments. What is the point of paying tax.
Hasn't improved. Someone answering the telephones would help. Can be 50th in the queue. Can sometimes get through. Someone answered the phone, I told them who I was and the receptionist said I can't hear this person so I had to call back and go back in the queue. When I did get through they said there were no appointments and wouldn't give me an appointment in advance. What kind of service is that.
Doctor has been brilliant with the skin cancer. They are so good.
GP is very good. Never have any issues and was referred on quickly. Can get appointment when needed but I don't use the service that often. Staff are polite and helpful.
It took them 4 months to correct my prescription and add few new medicines which I was buying from my own pocket.
Used to be able to just click on repeat prescripitions four oaks medical centre now it's just a nightmare!
I get the impression they'd rather call and speak to you over the phone. Receptionist say come in person and you can get an appointment. I got there at 8am and 17 people were waiting to get an appointment in person. There's going to be a point where the queues going to be out of the door. It all started during covid and its hasn't gone back to normal. We just don't have enough doctors.
Sometimes I can find it difficult to get an appointment. I did manage to get one and the doctor was very nice. It's very difficult to access services when English isn't my first language.
Useless communication about getting appointments and seeing doctor. You have to be on deaths door to get an appointment. They have recently started doing face to face appointments. A lot of trainee doctors that seem to be making a lot of wrong. Can’t book online appointments. System is not working properly.
Quite good, they have like an e-consult and they call back same day or next day. Referred onto hospital within couple of weeks.
Wait issues for appointment next week. Long waits for 8am in morning. Waited 33 minutes than gave an appointment for far in advance which isn’t great when you need to see someone urgently.
Happy with the service and I can get appointments. Normally phone up and they do a triage, they get to the bottom of things so they don’t have to see you, but they will call you and give you an appointment. If you do say you need a face to face appointment they will see you I’m sure.
Too nice, they are looking after us for years. All the time I can get appointments, they look after us so well.
Good I can wait a long time for appointments. Waited a long time for vaccinations.
Okay, can understand.
They're okay. It's got a lot worse since the pandemic. It's murder trying to see a doctor. I don't feel anyone can complain when our NHS is free. I think they're preparing us for a privatised service. The thing is that is missing is the personal touch. Knowing your doctor and them knowing your history.
Doctor gave me a call. They usually say there's a 2 or 3 week wait on appointments, and I can't wait that long. He told me I can have an appointment when I need one.
Well, I can never seen them. I can get medication, Keep an old slip and then pass them prescriptions. Had a couples of video calls but I would prefer to see them face to face as I have a few health issues.
Not brilliant, I was meant to have a referral for my eyes for ongoing issues, still haven't heard anything.
You ring when its 8am which is what they advise, then when you get through to them there's no appointments and that's at 8:05am or you end up in a queue of 50+. They are not seeing you face to face either.
Since March 2022 heard nothing about my appointment knee rehabilitation what is this practice doing to all our pensiors who need care . I am in pain don't seem to care about me. Since my tripple by pass my leg got worse can't walk none one cares feel let down by NHS
Poor support during COVID. I was send to hospital number of times for post COVID related treatment.
They are good, I am with them since ages.
Difficult to interact with.
Very difficult to get through on the phone.
Nightmare to get through- waiting times 50 min plus. No point phoning if you work your better going to A and E. Admin staff are rude and tell you to ring back the next day. Sectaries take weeks and weeks to send an urgent referral letter. GP's are good when you actually get to see one.
Needed help with a persistent toenail infection.
Poor. After an official complaint last year about communication issues they have not improved at all. You are on hold for hours at a time - if you are lucky enough to get through. They have no appointments left when you finally get through - they tell you to call back the next day. If you complain they say they will call you back - they don’t. No wonder the lowest COVID rates in HCPs are amongst GP practices.
Poor - can never get in when you do not much help is provided.
Impossible to get through by telephone, always seem to be number 42 in the queue! No longer have the facility to 'pop in' and book face to face appt. they really make it difficult and ended up visiting A&E after being told a GP would callback within 6hrs
Phone lines inadequate. When it is quiet, I am 'caller number 30' Receptionists intrusive and don't give an appointment unless you tell them what is wrong. Sometimes things are just private.
Can never get straight through on the phone, instead get put in a huge queue. Still have to listen to the Coronavirus blurb before being out in the queue! Have to call at certain times if the day for even the slightest chance of getting a ‘phone call’ appointment with the doctor who will then decide if you’re worthy of them risky their lives by appearing from behind the barricade and seeing you face to face. I would even claim this behaviour is breaching the Hippocrates Oath which swears ‘to refrain from causing harm’.
Queues to speak to receptionist about 1 hour. cannot see a GP at all !!
Never answer the phone. Cannot get an appointment
You are caller number 53. This is not acceptable
A great deal of difficulty in getting an appointment to see a doctor. When phoning it takes an age to get through and when you do, you get the message, 'there are no appointments for today, please try again tomorrow.' Then if you are lucky, you get an appointment with a nurse, not a doctor.
I really dread having to make an appointment! The stress and frustration of the call just isn't worth it - I have been suffering for years with several ailments that I am trying hard to ignore as the stress of getting an appointment is not worth it. Even before lockdown, going to the doctor was rarely a positive experience, I usually (with some notable exceptions) felt as though the appointments were generally rushed and I was only half listened to. There are some excellent doctors and I have had some good consultations - you just need to be lucky to get one - unfortunately the poor experiences outweigh the good and reception / admin are the worst part of the overall service. The nurses are wonderful - but why does it take 2 weeks to get a blood test done when the results can be back in less than 6 hours! Like many others, I do feel as though lockdown has been used as an excuse for not seeing patients. Also, the app has functionality on it to book appointments but despite trying dozens of times, there are never any appointments available - I am guessing it just isn't used but if that is the case, why isn't there a comment telling the user that they are wasting their time trying to get an appointment using the app. Finally, I think there is a problem with the prescription process, I get the impression that doctors believe prescription process cycle complete next day. In my experience it normally takes 4 days from the doctor telling me he has sent a prescription across (to Boots) to me receiving the text that tells me it is ready for collection.
Telephoned with a 'cough' problem which had been present for approx. a week about 10 days ago & spoke to a Practice Nurse who diagnosed a Doctors discussion .Doctor phoned later that afternoon & recommended tablet medicine after discussion (not penicillin based !)
Always good....sometimes difficult to make contact by phone or get an early appointment
Difficulty getting through on phone. Not enough phone or face to face appointments.
I have been at their surgery over 10 years. I have to say all the GPS I have meant have been wonderful always above and beyond with the service. The only negative point would be the telephone lines trying to actually get an appointment is ridiculous your in a queue sometimes up to 45mins. However all staff are welcoming and friendly.
Excellent, well organised didn't e even feel the jab
Pleasant and efficient.
Impossible to have a face to face with a GP since first lockdown when they all disappeared.
Good but no patient contact Hard to get through. No check up appointments.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful and especially all through lockdown and the pandemic.
Very difficult to get through on the phone and the rules keep changing regarding medically required blood tests - cannot book an appointment 3 weeks ahead - then they must be booked ahead, cannot go to Good Hope for a blood test (too expensive) then can go to Good Hope - very confusing and wastes a GP appointment to get it sorted
The process to actually get an appointment all be it a telephone consultation is appalling. The only way to get said appointment is to start at 8.30 in the morning and continually press re dial for any thing up to 30 minutes to eventually get through to a waiting list of 10.... it really is the most stressful and annoying system... if you don't do this and phone later in the day all appointments have gone and you are asked to phone next morning at 8.30 to start the process all over again.
The gps there are wonderful but getting an appointment is very hard. You're waiting to be connected for ages after you press 1. There's often no appointments unless you call at 8 that day. It doesn't seem to have improved since joining with other practices. But the gps are great themselves.
Impossible to get a face-to-face examination.
Poor - no visual contact long phone waiting times no idea how to guarantee an appointment just phone and hope.
Breast lump found - face to face appt received and onward referral. Problems with bunions - telephone appt and onward referral received.
Took time to get through but excellent service.
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: GP surgery has done well with repeats - Four oaks medical centre / Boots Pharmacy in mere green.
