"New online system takes ages"
It's changed since covid and they have a new system online. Then it takes weeks to get an appointment. I don't like telling a receptionist what is wrong.

Good to get me referred for my hip. The staff are good too.
They fill in the form for me and usually get back to me the next day. I sometimes avoid using them because of the form. It can be off putting.
Informed Eaton Wood about files being used to remove medical history they are doing the same. Black sharp material from eyes and face covered in scars disgusting smell in my nose and lost half my body weight, refuse to refer me to specialist. Can clearly see my clavicle is broken and protruding, but refused any medical investigations. They say I'm under teams I am not. I’ve been left unable to eat or walk for over a year. I’ve been refused ENT referral. Positive my health is of no concern to these people.
They messed with around me when I was trying to make an appointment, and they messed me around last time when I had my hip checked and they told me to go to A&E when it was something they could have dealt with.
Practically impossible to see a GP. Wednesday and Thursday afternoon goes to 'badger' who are usually unable to respond to a problem.
Have tried to change to another GPs surgery but the now postcode issue prevents this. So very frustrating.
This GP surgery since March has cancelled my dad's diabetic review 5 times in row due to staff sickness, everything it takes weeks to book back in. Now they are refusing to prescribe his medication for his diabetes as he hasn't had a review, however I have all the texts of them cancelling all the appointments, this is disgusting without his medication he will get worse, yet they have continued to cancel his appointment, they never phone send me his daughter a text and then takes forever to get him booked back in, where is the duty of care that they are meant to over see???
I look after my Dad etc...
It's gone online and it's a struggle for my dad. I use the portal but trying to ask a question can be difficult.
Hard to get appointments and they keep changing the system.
They found something on my son's 8 week check up and referred him onto Solihull hospital which was good.
It took roughly a week to get referred for an x-ray by my GP. I was having issues with my chest and a cough that I've had for a while. They suggested I get referred to check for anything.
It's difficult. There are always queues on the phones and your number 30. You wait 1 hour to get through and when you do you usually get an appointment. The staff are good, friendly and helpful. I always feel listened to. I have been referred quickly too.
It's difficult to get appointments so you have to go elsewhere or wait it out. We were supposed to go there and get dressings changed but they didn't do it so we ended up going to the hospital A&E and was sent around the houses to get it sorted. I ended up doing it myself as no one would help.
Very difficult to get an appointment and seeing your own GP is impossible. It's always a new locum.
I contacted the GPs asking for referral to a service to discuss my weight and BMI. I have mobility issues and regularly need steroids. They initially sent me to play 5 aside football which is wholly unsuitable. I eventually got sent through to a group for disabled people. They just talked about weight loss, very similar to Noom. I had already told GP what I had tried including Weight Watchers, Slimming World and Noom.
I have to ring at 8AM to get an appointment and then I'm in a queue. If I'm not number 1 then I wont get an appointment and I have to call again the next day.
Trying to access GP surgeries for either myself or husband is impossible everything is phone on the day. Then told it's emergencies only or fill out referral. You cannot adequately plan care nor can you get medical issues taken care of before they become an emergency.
They arranged a blood test and I am waiting on the result. They are brilliant.
My daughter had a letter sent and they said they would have to get her to sign it even though she is severely autistic. It ended up delaying transition of care over to adult services. Once the letter was sent they were able to get appointments reinstated along with her care.
Have not been able to see a GP for years.
Its can be difficult. When I get there I am pleased with the service but getting an appointment is very difficult. I can go online but I don't go online. If you get through at 8:00am you are 50th in the queue. It's very difficult.
They are so supportive and understanding. To speak to a doctor I call at 8:00am. The PEG meetings are good and the surgery asks if we have any questions. Receptionists will pass you over to the right department. They're all brilliant.
Offered an appointment for today for blood pressure but I couldn't make it so the next available appointment is in 3 weeks. Personally since covid, I've not been able to make an appointment. My last asthma review was done over the phone, which I don't see how they can check over the phone.
It's very good, the GP will always come out the same day to see my daughter. Never had any issues with them, they're very good.
Could be on phone for ages. Couldn’t get appointments or information about when I can get one. They didn’t refer me for a gynecological issue.
Takes a long time. Very hard to get an appointment. Very hard to call them first. Usually 40 mins wait in queue them they pick up and say no appointments and too call tomorrow morning at 8am. It’s just so hard.
Good practice, appointment by phone in 30 mins. No needs to go back to when you can book a month / 2 weeks before hand.
Even if you were in a coffin you wouldn't get seen. You have to pay to see the doctor there. I ended up leaving the practice because they were rubbish.
No problem with them at all. Can always ring and get the appointment but no face to face appointment. Don’t know what’s going on with the service, they are all meant to be back to normal.
I told them back in 2018 that I suspect my husband has Parkinson's. I repeat the same thing in 2019. I had it confirm in March he got Parkinson's by Good Hope Hospital. The consultant told me that the doctor at the surgery would get a letter that I was to ask for a repeat prescription from them. I rang last week told no letter has come. I rang Friday the day my husband received his letter, no letter arrived. I rang this week got letter there but can not get prescription but the doctor has got to read letter and then do the prescription. Phone back in the afternoon. I phone back but what they did not tell me they were closed in the afternoon. My husband needs these tablets. But I will run out before I get a supply. That is a disgrace.
I wanted to see a female doctor, reception staff not very helpful. I am not happy by the service received from the surgery. Doctor was very nice and I felt listened too.
Impossible to get an appointment. Dialed 213 times before was put in a queue then 40 minutes wait and obviously no appointments available.
Impossible to get an appointment an appointment. Can be on the phone for over an hour and still can’t get an appointment. When review is done, surgery used to prebook appointments. Now, you need to call yourself and after 4-5 days in a row before you get through.
I have had pain in lower stomach over 2 weeks before Christmas. Finally got through for a telephone consultation. Instead I had a text to fill a form in. Then text to bring urine sample and wait two weeks for results. I was sent antibiotics as I self diagnosed myself on the same proble as a few months ago. 7 days antibiotics have not cleared my pain. I could not believe after waiting several weeks for an appointment it was done on my mobile phone. I am unwell in pain and disgusted with this practice. It used to be the best practice when the previous doctor and colleagues were there. There's no care now. Looking into changing them.
Ringing from 8am engaged till 8.40 then 27 in queue no appointments my son is disabled he has a sore throat with spots and white colour cottage cheese look all in his mouth and glands are swollen. He wakes in the night with a checking feeling. On phone to 111 for 2 hours. No response. Phoned surgery back to be told no appointments. Phone 111 back they will be able to get me an appointment. I am still waiting on line at 111 for over a hour. My son is unable to go to a walk in centre because he has a spinal issue and is unable to get there because of pain. Since previous doctors have gone this surgery does not care about patients
The gp is constantly failing to diagnose the health issues and not doing anything to help. My health is worsening every day and the GP is unable to do anything. I have to visit A&E to be seen by a doctor as the GP is not doing anything at all.
This surgery are not interested in seeing patients. When you get through finally after waiting in a queue you are either cut off as appointments have all gone or if you speak to someone they tell you to phone back in the morning. Rubbish!! Some people work. This surgery was also a disgrace during Covid. My elderly neighbour was never visited until it was too late.
They used to be a good surgery but now I am going to leave. And how dare they have a banner outside advertising for new patients when they can’t even see the ones they have.
I'm under a new doctor. I don't go there very often. I wait a long time, sometimes half an hour on the phone. I usually go and wait outside the surgery door at 8am and then they say there are no appointments.
Very hard to get an appointment. Sometimes they triage and then phone me back. Sometimes give me a appointment over the phone but I ask to see the doctor and they usually give me an appointment.
Doctors won’t see you, will only do phone consultations. Very bad service.
I rang the doctors at 8am, must have redialed at least 20 times and it was engaged every time. It was coming up to 8:10am when I finally got into the telephone queue, where there were 40+ people in front of me. I managed to speak to a receptionist at the surgery and tried to explain to her that I'd spoken to both NHS 111 and a doctor from the Badger Clinic who had told me to call and make an appointment - they didn't want to know. She said she just dealt with test results and admin enquiries. I then received a text message to say make an emergency appointment with a female doctor. I rang back but they said they couldn't do anything after 6pm. The next day I called back and the receptionist took my details and it flagged up on the system and said she couldn't understand why they had sent me a text when they should have arranged an appointment for me. I later received a phone call from a doctor who said I had a urine infection and prescribed me antibiotics and told me to bring in a urine sample within the next 10-15 days regardless of my symptoms not pointing to an infection.
I have been going here for many years and I am due to see them soon for a blood test, they're alright.
Can't get a face to face appointment and trying to get a phone consultation almost as bad. Average wait on phone 45mins. No accessibility to book online.
They do not understand Sickle cell so I rarely use them but I can only get certain medicines from them and they are hard to get through.
Basic standards of care have fallen considerably at Eaton Wood Surgery over the last eighteen months. It's an uphill struggle to get Staff to accept that they are poor at the proving the very simplest of tasks. For example, ordering a Prescription is such an uphill struggle from getting through by telephone to collecting the Prescription in person. It is standard practice to be bounced between the Surgery and the on-site Pharmacy as neither accept responsibility when you arrive to collect your Prescription and it's not even processed. Moreover, the Surgery appears to be adrift, without any proper leadership and or direction; mention to the Reception staff that you want to make a Complaint and they scurry around desperately trying to put you off making your concerns public or looking at you blank faced as they inform you that they are not familiar with the Practice's Complaints Policy. Is there any Public Body monitoring this failing Practice on behalf of Patients ?
Not seen Gp for over 2years, finally had long over due blood test, results come back abnormal, so need a doctor's apt.plus have other health issues which need attention, cannt get apt,Last summer I ended up in hospital because of their neglect.disgusting way to treat patients, the practice have the nerve to advertise for new patients.
Go through information then get cut off. The surgery is then constantly engaged. I am trying to get an appointment for my son who has had a spinal problem for over 25 years. This has spread to hips and legs. Doctor has always been excellent with my son when he has been able to get an appointment with him before pandemic. How can the line be constantly engaged when I try before 8am. This practice has gone down hill the receptionist I spoke to Friday was rude unhelpful. My son cannot travel to walk in centre. It's now Wednesday and been cut off I keep ringing back and getting engaged sound. Really bad practice.
Need 2 phones and ring just after 7.59. Even then you are 30 something in the queue, holding on for 30 - 40 mins to be told no appointments left, ring tomorrow…..
I have tried to get an appointment numerous times to see a doctor and have been unable too. Also had flu jab booked then cancelled when I arrived. They didn’t even have the courtesy to contact me
Great staff
Horrible service will never get phone lines, staff is very rude and undertrained.
Tendency to be confrontational and seem to work off a script when dealing with callers - assume a degree if medical knowledge which I would not normally associate with a receptionist. Call handlers acting as first line triage service rather than acting in requirements expressed by caller.
Atrocious trying to get through from 8am .. over 3 days I rang nearly 400 times spent over 4hours on hold, on one call I was number 3 in the queue for an hour and a half !! Ridiculous and no I didn't manage to speak to a dr or see one!
Very disappointing experience today and one I cannot imagine would have happened pre-covid. Having said that, however, this surgery, which is part of MMP, has, in my opinion, deteriorated over recent years - so much so that the impression I am now left with is one of a chaotic, disjointed and uncaring practice.
Firstly, I would like to say that I have been registered at a GP practise on this site for over 58 years and until recently I have been more than happy with the quality of service I have experienced. In the last couple of years I have noticed that the practice has gone downhill. It is almost impossible to get an appointment. There appears to be no female GP's in attendance at the practice. The attitude of the front of house staff is apalling and condescending. During this Pandemic I've been scared to phone up because of the attitude you receive. I had to fight with the surgery to get my HRT prescription because I was shielding - my choice as I have a blood cancer and vindicated as we were added to the extremely vulnerable list towards the end of lock down. Then had to fight with GP during the telephone consultatation to actually get the prescription. It's a good job I know the correct medical things to say that can't be argued with. And as for trying to get the Covid vaccine I had to get my Specialist nurse to write to them before I was offered an appointment - I was told by a receptionist that "I would get it eventually"!! When you know that you have a condition that would render you in hospital at the very least (if not dead) if you caught Covid-19 I don't think that is the attitude to take. I think I will be voting with my feet.

It is very stressful trying to get an appointment. Need 2 phones and ring just after 7.59. Even then you are 30 something in the queue, holding on for 30 - 40 mins to be told no appointments left, ring tomorrow. If you ring after 11.00 with a query or to get test results when it should quieter you still have to hold on 40 mins. Letters are sent out telling people to book asthma appointments etc to be told sorry we haven’t got any. It’s the most stressful thing trying to get through when you are ill. When you eventually do get to speak to a GP they are very good and they do book face to face when necessary.

Great GP but let down by receptionists. I waited 10 mins in lobby until someone came to take my temperature. I waited 50 mins in waiting room - I was told the GP was late. When I arrived in the room, the GP asked me if I had gotten lost, and why I went to a different practice because the receptionists informed her I was 50 mins late for going to the wrong surgery!!! GP was brilliant though. I don't think the receptionists should have ever lied about a patient being late as some could get in trouble over nothing!
Provide no support for mental health issues and caused my daughter and brother to both end up cutting them selves.
No support with my brother dementia in over 12 months
Great service i did not have to wait and I was they for 10 minutes
Very poor difficult to use failure to return calls or give opportunity to discuss health issues.
I've needed them five times in the last six months .and every time I have been seen without a problem.
Phone appointment booking system very poor, after about an hour on the phone to be told nothing left.
Poor service, very rude staff, often ignore patients phone calls.
It's terrible I can never get a appointment not even a phone consultation.
Let down in all aspects of care in this practice. I am currently in the process of changing GP's. I can never get an appointment or even speak to a doctor. The reception staff off hand and very condescending if you ever manage to get through. I usually only go to the surgery twice a year once for a flu jab and once for a diabetic check. I have had to keep myself safe over the last year in the pandemic as I could not get to speak to a doctor with the concerns I had and no chance of booking a check up either. I spent 49 minutes waiting in the queue on the phone one time and I eventually was put through and it seems as though the phone was just picked up, not answered and was just put back down to cut me off. I know it has been a very bad year 2020 but this problem has been going on for some years now. I changed to Pharmacy 2 U for my repeat prescriptions and the surgery even got that wrong. They used to be really good but have failed miserably.
I took my baby for his immunizations and the team here was incredible.
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: Eaton Wood Medical Centre has done phone appointments that have been helpful.
Can never get an appointment tried for over 3 weeks phone lines are useless and and online booking cant get anything dont know how the surgery runs when theres no drs hardly and and very small amount of appointments this place needs a major sort out
Terrible trying to get an appointment. Phone at 8am, and by 8.05am all appointments gone. Can book appointments on line but not for my children - Don't make sense, so I don't use it. They end up telling me to go to the walk in centre. I've been in tears before and if it wasn't for the receptionist who are very good, I wouldn't have been seen.
My husband and I have been patients here for many years. It is very difficult to get an appointment. This is getting increasingly worse as are our health problems as we get older. We are to going to complain, not that it will do much good. Been on the phone for almost an hour today and got told to go to a walk in centre. This is not acceptable!
Could be on phone an hour then get thought only to be told no appointment worse doctors no proper doctor's all locums who don't know u
I spent one hour and ten minutes waiting for the phone to be answered, after over 20 minutes in call position one, the call was cut off. When I made the call I was fifth in the queue.
