"4 month waiting list for support."

There has been a 4 month waiting list for bereavement services. I looked into other areas and it was the same elsewhere. If you wanted to pay it was there. The college offered some sort of help but it wasn't helpful there is nothing really to work with.

"I have complained to the CQC"

The carers aren't staying for the full time to care for my mom. They are supposed to come for 30 minutes during the day and 45 minutes on the evening. They never come. I've complained to the CQC and not heard anything. When the cats away the mice will play. They need to provide mom with the care she needs. It worries me that she'll hurt herself because they're not providing the care.

"Our main carer is brilliant"

My dad’s been with Care Avenues since my dad needed care. Our main carer is brilliant, she has always supported dad and trusts her a lot. I called the office and requested her to be permanent. Which they made sure. We are happy with them.

"Avoid at all costs"

The company is left to run by incompetent people including apprentices who are given far too much work and responsibility for their position (they are only given the role due to the low cost of their wages), any complaints are avoided by management who are conveniently in "meetings" when you call up. Office staff turnover is extremely high with care coordinators being used, abused and replaced before being able to complete their probationary period,

"Poor communication, poor organisation."

My Nan has been left off their rota so many times even though she has been with the company for 2 years now. They do not employ enough staff to cover all visits, so staff are regularly late. The office do not contact you back. We've complained to the company and they've ignored it three times now.

Provider Response June 14, 2022

We are sorry that you feel that we have not communicated to you effectively, however we have no evidence of any calls being missed for any of our service users, all our calls are put on the rota permanently. We also do have enough staff currently to cover calls, often calls can be late due to carers being sick or emergencies at short notice. If you want to discuss your concerns and you are not happy with our service please contact the office and ask to speak to myself or Emma.
