"Helpful and good therapy service."

Daughter had therapy for ticks and it was great and very helpful. It was a good experience.

"Rude Dr, Daughter not listened to!"

For the ADHD assessment, the doctor was the worst doctor I've seen. He made her cry and was rude to her for no reason. This is the first time she has spoken to a new person and was actually chatting and the doctor said to her that he wasn't interested I listening to her. The doctor was also late to the appointment and blamed the receptionist and didn't have time to do the whole assessment. The doctor said she doesn't have ADHD even though I came with so much information and evidence. I asked what else he needed to see or know, and he just got up walked to the door, opened it and said 'I don't have time for this'. My daughter and I left crying. I asked to see another doctor who was better and gave us time and listened but she said daughter doesn't have ADHD as she is not hyperactive at school. I explained that she is homeschooled so of course no evidence of this. After reading through all my evidence, she rang me after 6 weeks to say she doesn't have ADHD as daughter didn't interrupt her when she was talking. I asked what else I can do to get help and the doctor said I know what to do and should just keep up with the routine.

"Awful!"

They are really bad and do more harm than good. There needs to be a total change and mass improvements for mental health services all round, but particularly for the youth. They are struggling and angry and scared and it is turning some of them violent. It is scary for the parents and other children and for society in general. It's not the children's fault - there just isn't any suitable support available.

"Wasn't nowhere near a supportive service"

As mother, I was made to feel all the problems I faced with my child were solely my fault. Felt like appointments were rushed at times and not taken seriously. Which in turn has impacted my child more, making them feel they wouldn't trust seeking help or support, due to being let down and not listening properly

"Rejected by CAMHS twice"

Referred to CAHMS as son was suicidal. His referral was rejected twice as he is autistic. Apparently being suicidal is just part of autism.

"Hell on earth - falsely accused as an abuser"

I was abused by CAMHS in 2023 - 2025. I went for help and they abused me and made my family ill.

"No doctor or regular appointments"

The doctors left and they didn't replace the doctor so she hasn't been seen since December. I have to phone and get the medication but it doesn't get reassessed because she doesn't have regular appointments.

"Pick and choose, awful"

They said the child would have to try and take his own life before they could help. The seem to pick and choose who they support.

"They are terrible"

Terrible. They discharged my daughter after a couple of days. They did a couple of calls, saw her once and then discharged her saying to call them if she needed anything. She has Autism, ADD and anxiety. They are terrible.

"A very good psychiatrist."

It took 13 months to get seen and referred to someone. The psychiatrist is very very good. I understand my mental health. I was referred on for Autism assessments. I have an appointment in August.

"Hopeless"

Hopeless, did not see the same psychiatrist twice. They were all locum. Alex was diagnosed and then not given support or advice or going forward. Found it very strange.

"Can’t get appointment. System is down!"

Poor experience. System not working and they said therefore can’t access any patient notes and can’t make an appointment - weeks turn to months.

"Brilliant"

They're brilliant, I've been under them for years. My consultant left and its been a mess with my meds. They've also made chnages to the system so now the GP has to order them from CAMHS and the Childrens. It's a joke.

"Tried to secure post-16 treatment"

Good relationship with the specific councillor I was assigned. Sincerely tried to secure post-16 treatment. Received Cognitive Behaviour Therapy since Age 13. Prescribed anti-depressants. Stopped mid sixth form/college education. Feel healthcare workers are too insistent in immediately recommending medication. Mental Health assistance is incredibly limited post-16. There have been attempts to increase mental health awareness for adolescents, however for people who are above this age (i.e. middle aged and elderly) their treatment and more importantly their waiting time is alarming.
