"Really looked after me"
The mental health support I have received has been good. I requested for my 3 specific appointments to be done on the same day and they accommodated this. They really looked after me and got me tea and biscuits.

The staff are bullies they bullied me because I’m gay and they made jokes out of me. I felt suicidal.
Spoken to them a couple of times but I need more support.
It was an awful experience and it put me off asking for help again it made me worse if anything.
Am currently attending CFT therapy group. (compassionate focused therapy). It's going well. Started as eleven people but only seven of us continuing.
Nothing has gone well, first had to self refer to Birmingham Healthy Minds who referred me to the local CMHT who refuse to treat me (not a critical patient), who told me to self refer to the living well consortium who have yet to contact me. The initial referral was September 2024 and it is now March 2025. Also looking for assessment for autism and so far I am a year into the wait to see a specialist.
They're the worst because they provide you with support. You get better and then you get worse again because you don't get any help afterwards.
I was referred to a counselling service but it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. They recommended MBT but wasn't able to access it after that. They were accessible but not what I needed.
Tried to get some help for depression. Made me wait 2 months for "triage". Tried to fob me off with sleep hygiene. Didn't read the notes. Tried to make out I was being difficult because I said, "I assumed that they would have read the notes". Unjustifiably arrogant
Condescending. Shockingly unprofessional. I dread to think what they do to people in worse conditions than mine. Or with less capacity than mine. I suspect many of those end really very badly.
I was referred to them from my doctors and the referral process was quite quick. I've had a really good experience with them.
Lost my referral. Did the initial assessment, said they’d ring back. Didn’t.
Re-referred myself 10 mths ago. Same thing happened!
I have no confidence in this shambolic service.
over 6 months ago I made a self referral but have have heard nothing
The service was quick to screen but then there is another wait before being only offered 4-6 sessions.
Long waiting times, Nice people but would like more face-to-face rather than teams now.
Provided cognitive behavioural therapy which was very helpful and effective
Good and helpful.
My experience was great. My first appointment happened really quick and the sessions I had were really positive.
Received E.M.D.R treatment. Outstanding
Online survey questionnaire: What has worked well for you during lockdown?
Answer: Birmingham healthy minds Brilliant.
Computer not up and running for appointments before Xmas. Warned could phone but calls often delayed badly. Could drop in without an appointment and see if anyone available.
Issues I’ve had, they don’t understand my condition of Asperger’s. Waiting list took weeks to get an assessment and then weeks to get to the sessions, still waiting. They help with my anxiety, can’t fault them. Don’t give full support I need.
I had a phone appointment which I took some time off of work for. When the appointment time came nobody rang me and after ten mins of waiting I ring the helpline only to be told that the practitioner was with someone else. I understand busy periods however if somebody is committing to improving or seeking help for their mental health and well being I'd assume the practioners would have the decency to actually keep to appointments. It's really dissapointing especially when they can only offer another appointment two weeks from now.
Never called me back for the 30minute call appointment it's a disgrace left me hanging don't bother with healthy minds they don't bother with you
We are sorry to hear this. We will certainly follow this up if you could contact our PALS Customer Relations team on 0800 953 0045 and offer the details for them to investigate.
I went through Birmingham Healthy Minds but they referred me to something I wasn't comfortable with. I went to the Pause in Birmingham City, where it's a walk in but you would see someone different every time. This gave me a choice to when i can talk and see someone when I really need to.
Sometimes we do need to refer to other organisations. This can be because they are funded for different needs or age groups. The Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Trust operate the Pause service. If you contact our Customer Relations team on 0800 953 0045 they will find a person you can speak with at that Trust to help.
Member of staff from BHM visited mother at home. Not seen since August 2016. Came back with a dementia diagnosis and not seen since!
We would need some more details about your mother's care to be able to look into this for you. Could you contact our Customer Relations team on 0800 953 0045 so that they can take some more information from you in order to help.
