There is a lack of support and help from health visitors when trying to get a diagnosis or assessments.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience with the Health Visiting service at Birmingham Community Children\'s Centre. We\'re very sorry this has not been positive. If you\'d like to tell us more so that we can look into this in further detail, please call our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 917 2855 or email contact.bchc@nhs.net.

"Health visitor didn't come out to me"
I had to go to Nechells to see the health visitor as no one came to see us. I had a 2 year check that had to be done. It wasn't like they were checking up on us. It was more of a thing they had to do.
"Still waiting since last year"
Waiting for a referral to paediatrician since before covid. I think my son has autism. Asked doctor to refer still waiting since last year.
"Should have had more help"
I've met one twice. Came out when they were born. I've never met one properly, met one this time last year, I think that's why there's a delay for her personally. She should have had more help. Had one call from SALT and it was a video call and she was asleep so they didn't see her. Her 2 year old check up was done through a postal form.
"Feel son has been sidelined"
I've been in touch with the health visitor, they referred my son to the paediatrician and Speech and Language Therapist, because of covid this was done over the phone. They gave me plans of what to do in the meantime, but I feel like he's been sidelined. Wish there was more access to these services.
"Very rushed and too busy to speak"
Had two year old review over the phone, very rushed too busy to speak and since, 3 year old daughter has had issues with speech. I have been waiting for a phone call to address daughters speech for 4 months.
"Have not seen my health visitor"
1 year check up, no one got in contact with me, I was waiting 3 and a half months for the health visitor to contact me. Noone has been in contact with me to have a general, how is everything getting on.
"Hard to get hold of health visitor"
Health visitor came out to foster care placement when my son was 2 months old and she had a cold. She came into my home and said she had a cold so I said she would have to go. She then phoned me and said she would arrange a visit within the next couple of weeks and didn't arrange one for another month. Last week I messaged her to ask when she would arrange another one. She arranged one for today but didn't come because she had to take family leave. It's very hard to contact her because she never responds. The only time she gets involved is when my social worker gets involved.
"Helpful in the beginning but hard to contact"
The health visitor visited my house when my son was 4 months old. They were very helpful and cooperative. I've had no contact with them since. I don't know how to contact them. I called them to seer how I could get the drops for my son. They said I should get it from my children's centre.
