Our input highlighted important improvements and areas for further focus:

  • More patient-centred care welcomed, with flexible pathways, outreach clinics, home treatment, and support for self-management.

  • Choice and accessibility valued, with in-person and remote clinics offered depending on patient needs and preferences.

  • Psychological wellbeing recognised in the service specification, including the impact of the Infected Blood Inquiry.

  • Patient voices strengthened, calling for clearer requirements to gather and act on feedback from service users and carers.

  • Greater inclusion in research supported, to widen participation and improve treatment effectiveness for diverse groups.

  • Equality issues addressed, with a need for better data on ethnicity and cultural backgrounds to reduce inequalities.

Through this consultation, we’ve helped ensure that people’s real experiences influence how care is delivered, making services more flexible, inclusive, and responsive.
